  1. Got a 7" medium casting and love it. I would purchase another without a second thought.
  2. If i can't use braid or floro I would use Copolymer. I have no use for mono. These other lines can do everything better.
  3. I use Invizx bulk spools and have never had an issue. A proper knot when using floro is really important.
  4. I prefer floro over everything else (unless its a top water presentation), I just seem to catch more fish with it. My second choice is braid with a floro leader. I do like co-polymer also. To me all of these are a better option than mono but that's just me.
  5. Welcome, I see you fish the same river as I do. Great fishing and better views make it a special place. Good luck with the Kayak, that's my favorite way to fish.

    Xrap, original, and jointed
  7. On the river it's a Fat Ika
  8. Cork for me but i find foam gives me a better grip when it's wet.
  9. I never go heavier than 10 lb FC on a spinning real. It's a little to stiff and affects my casting distance. I would recommend 8 lb for your setup
  10. I use them heavily in the fall and have not had a problem. I've caught a good number of 3-5 lb bass on them and my only complaint might be chipping paint after 5-10 fish.
  11. A Senko is hard to beat. I'm not a fan of Dingers. My second choice is Lockett Lures because of the price and color selection. They offera few colors like sunfish laminant that work well for me.
  12. High top Chuck Taylor. It really put up a fight!
  13. This ABU Garica is from the early 90's. Used every week, oiled once in 25 years and never missed a beat. There are many great reels out there. Just saying don't get hung up on a brand. I own Shimano, Quantum, pflueger, Abu, and Penn. All of these perform well with no noticable difference. The one thing in common is that they are all high end reels - you get what you pay for.
  14. Agree with p-line co-poly or 20 lb braid with a floro leader.
  15. I own 4 XML rods and they are my absolote favorites. I have a Fish Eagle also and for the money it's a great rod.
  16. I own a patriarch bait caster - best reel I own
  17. 3" Chigger Craw with light bullet weight pegged
  18. I fish rivers almost every trip. This time of year I prefer 4 or 5 inch stick bait wacky rigged or a green pumpkin Fat IKA. The later is an great bait in clear water or rocky structure. Good luck!
  19. Fenwick eagle
  20. Check out a fish griper. I've pulled 48" muskies into my Kayak with no worries.
  21. I've used both with good results but Invizix would be my choice. Both have good abrasion resistance but like someone else said it seems to have less memory.
  22. Senko fat IKA KVD Caffeine Shad Berkely Chigger Craw Lockett Big Fattie (I know it's a Senko style but it has a different sink rate the works better at certain times)
  23. you might be on to something. I fish the Shanandoah and caught two large Muskies on a 1/2 oz jig and trailer the week before Christmas.
