  1. Rarely ever, but I only throw them around the middle of the lake... with no stumps or anything sticking up. I'm paranoid that if I did, I'd hang a root or something.
  2. I was looking at the Metanium DC, but a couple reviews suggested it's not a long distance caster like these two, so I may just wind up buying a Antares or Expensive. If it comes down to it, I may just flip a coin and let that decide... Ha ha ha.
  3. I actually brought (call me stupid) a lipless crankbait that cost right around $15... so I have to agree.
  4. for light lures? 1/4 ounce. 16 Antares and 17 Exsence. Or would it be neck and neck? I've read somewhere that the 17 Exsence is the saltwater version of the DC Antares, but the Antares seems to still be the more pricey one of the two, even though it's an older reel.
  5. From what I've read around, it casts farther than the DC Metanium.
  6. On other note, Amazon also has the 12 version of the DC Exsence. Could anyone give me their view on its casting distance?
  7. I've just looked at the 12 version of exsence. Extremely far casting real, with a great color to it, but how hard would it be to find parts for a real that age?
  8. I'm pretty sure the weight won't bother me after a while. But on casting distance, how does the DC Metanium compares to the non-DC MGL Metanium?
  9. How how often you guys have to clean the chip?
  10. I do have two more questions. Is there much of a cast difference in the two reels? And how's the weight of the DC reel?
  11. Thanks. I'm gonna Ebay around to see prices, lol.
  12. Guys, I've fully managed to get a good amount saved up, and these are the reels I'm looking at buying in hopefully a week or so. Short question: Is the DC worth the extra cost?
  13. Are they horrible, or just not good for this time?
  14. Never tried topwater around this time, but I may have to give it a go.
  15. I live in North Carolina, and currently the weather has started to get in the high 60s and early 70s. In my collection of non-top water lures, I have crankbaits, lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits, plastic worms and lizards, a single chatterbait, and recently brought one of those LiveTarget sunfish.
  16. Shoot in total, I have a ton of jitterbugs, poppers, crankbaits, lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and plastic worms that I haven't used yet... Lol. I brought more than I could fish with this year.
  17. https://www.facebook.com/MegaChompLureCo/ I've been using lures from these guys lately. A lot of color choices, and I'm happy with them so far.
  18. I wanna say yes, but I don't know if their any hardcore proof of it. I remember we use to plastic worm to death this old farm pond to the point of catching any bass was rare. Well, off plastic worms that is. The fish might've just not been drawn to soft plastics, I don't know.
  19. Definitely seems possible. What color is the one you have if you have one?
  20. After speaking to you guys, I'm convinced it's a great product, and I'll be ordering one today. The one I'm looking at is the bluegill, but I've noticed the sides of it is different colors on different sites. One site lists it as orange in the display photo, and others lists it as red in the display photo. Does anyone know which version of the regular bluegill has the red color sides?
  21. What about Japan Lure Shop? Any experience with them too? I figure one of those two companies will be where I'll order from.
  22. $233.23 USD for a CHRONARCH MGL 150 17 with free shipping sounds like a steal when you look at other sites, but will the manuals and other booklets be in English or Japanese?
  23. Outdoors replied to TOXIC's topic in Tournament Talk
Point taken. When writing that post, I was thinking of top names for some reason; Bill Dance, Hank Parker, etc.
