so I found a big box of eagle claw bullet weights in the Walmart clearance and couldn't pass up 10 different sizes for $99ct. I just took them out to put in the trays and noticed some of the holes are larger than the others where the line threads through and some are a little deformed. I have never fished a Texas rig before so wondering will these still work or pitch them and get a better quality?

just got home from there. 2 nights ago they had about 15 spools of 30lbs fireline, 10-15 spools of 14bs fireline and some others mixed in. all are gone today. It kind of annoyed me cause I needed 1-2 of them and now someone will sell them at the flee market or online. those spools were $4. a lot of big game mono and Cajun mono in the high test ratings and some in the 10-14lbs. seems like its almost over as far as deals. I need to find a cheaper rod for crankbaits as someones giving me another baitcaster. I have the medium heavy shock rod but was told its not good for crankbaits.

well after sending a swivel through my lined guides today on accident I said screw it and fired up the video above and it took me 30min but I tied 2 knots and they look and feel fine. it took me about 5 tries cause they kept coming out crooked making the line kink but I think I got it. now just have to see how it handles fishing. I tied one 10lbs suffix elite mono to 6lbs flouro stren 6lbs and 10lbs to 10lbs where the cat chewed 9-10ft of line in half. oh and for the newbies to this watch what your doing cause when I tried pulling it tight I sent the line through my finger down into the meat.

whats the issue on casting gear? I was going to use it on a baitcaster

If it's junk I'll pitch it just didn't want to ruin baits.

Since we are on this subject and I just discovered a problem. I was lining my steelhead rod and the cat decided he wanted to play with the line and nicked it right above the spool. Can I double uni knot this and have it go through the eyes without issue? Don't want to waste 10-13ft of line.

I've been looking for a decent catfish spinning reel and think I found it but what to hear what you guys think about the okuma bait feeder. I'm going to pair it with a medium/heavy ugly stick. not really sure what size to get for targeting 5lbs-20lbs channel cats. if anyone uses this what you think or any other recommendations?

I found some Berkley gulp spray at Walmart for $1 so got craw and nightcrawler flavor. is this stuff crap or does it work? if it works do you just spray the individual worm or the whole pack? also should I keep my worms and chigger craws in their bags or okay to put in a tackle tray?

I read mono is best for cranks to not rip the hook out but ive never set the hook really hard. one of the baitcasters I'm getting comes with braid. just trying to use the best stuff possible.

I found every size of fireline for $3 and I'm itching to buy it to stock up but what technique is it good for? running 2 baitcasters on Berkley lightning shocks and a president spinning reel and ugly stick catfish combo.

10lbs suffix elite. I purchased a reel and lined it and it was bad so tired attaching it back to the line on the factory spool just for practice and couldn't get it for nothing. Now dumb question. when tying to something what is the knot that you feed through the eye and twist about 8 times and then shoot through the bottom hole close to the hook eye and jerk tight? is that a uni knot cause it looks the same and I can do those all day on a hook but cant do 2 lines.

you need to search several zip codes for different stores around you. i have 4 walmarts close to me and only one had the rods for 9$ i checked all 4 stores online until i found it.

I've got 4 Wal-Mart's all within 20min being the farthest. the key is buy more than one rod. that was my plan until they told me the sale was only for medium/heavy rods.

I tried for about 30min the other night to tie line to floro with a double uni knot for a leader and cant get it for the life of me so i thought screw it i will just used a swivel linked below. is there any issues with doing it this way? these are like 30lbs strength and very small so i don't think anything will be able to see them. I've got mono on 2 rods and another BC with braid. I was told use a flouro leader for steelhead and also bass to help get the bait down and also help with the fish not seeing the line.

when i clicked on those it said they were sold by someone else and not Wal-Mart. its almost like walmart.com is becoming amazon with using other sellers. I got screwed 2 times clicking medium and then the store says its only medium/heavy 6ft6 on sale and nothing else. they actually changed it last night for my stores.

There is a couple out by me that holds a large yard sale a few times a year and has 2 enclosed car haulers full of hunting, fishing and camping stuff and everything is new in packages. I got several spools of line for cheap, broadheads, vests, clothes, calls, etc all very cheap. I try and support them when I see them out. I asked where they got all the stuff and pretty much got a half axx answer and by looking at it the items all came from Walmart.

I know it wore out my wallet real fast. oh and all this stuff was purchased in the last 3 weeks. ive been staying up until almost midnight reading and watching videos too.

I've fished for 20yrs with cheapo Walmart rods and most recently a light action ugly stick combo catching a few very nice largemouth, channel cats, crappie, and bluegill. one bass was about 5lbs and channel cats over 24inches but recently got the urge to fish more than sit in the house after work. I started by buying a cabelas tourney trail, pflueger president combo and thought I would be happy and then watching videos and reading I wanted a baitcasting setup. I always just use pop r's, original rapalas, and bobber fishing and now the bait monkey got me. I've got several packs of worms, 3-4 different size and type of worm hooks, relined all my reels with suffix mono, bought a rod slick for the cabelas rod, 50 pack of bullet weights, several crank baits, a friend gave me a baitcaster so I got a Berkley lightning rod shock for it and then he tells me he's got another bait caster I can have so now I have to buy another rod for that and I found my old ultra light 20 size reel with 5ft rod and my 5ft6 ugly stick lite with another cheapo reel and just relined both of them. went to Walmart tonight for 6lbs line for crappie and gills for the light rods and seen fire line 14lbs and 30lbs for $4 and grabbed 3 packs and then said what the heck do I need this for and put it back and then picked it up again and put it back and finally left. went to cabelas tonight to get a steelhead rod so I can try that and almost walked out of there with a bunch of stuff in the bargain cave. I think I have an addiction now. I started with 2 light action rods that cost under $30 and now have 2 bait casters, a good spinning setup, going to buy a ugly stick catfish combo soon, 2 steelhead rods, a bunch of tackle I have no clue how to use. yep! I'm screwed!!!!

well guys I tried canceling a cabelas medium 9ft 6-12bs line steelhead rod because I went with a dicks riversider medium 8ft6 8-20lbs line rod with diawa reel but cabelas told me I couldn't cancel it but had to return in store. the rod came last night and now I'm torn which one to keep. cabelas told me like 2.5 weeks for shipping so that's why I grabbed a riversider and wanted to cancel the cabelas. the cabelas rod seems a little lighter and more whippy than the riversider but its a bare rod so cant feel reel weight. what would you return?

its a shakespear micro pin type reel. he 5ft Walmart special ultra lights.

I found a Shakespeare ultra light reel and rod the other day I've had for along time but the rods only like 5ft6 and was wondering how it would work for say a 6ft spinning medium lightning shock rod. I figured that rod would be good for the tight wooded areas i sometimes visit. Do you guys think the reel is too small for this type of rod? I was thinking of throwing some 6lbs mono or maybe 10lbs braid on it. this would be used for bass too.

got a medium heavy 6ft6 casting for $9. going to call around and see if i can get a medium and maybe a spinning for that price.

what would you use those rattlnin and scatter raps for?
