flouro breaking easy?
I picked up a new roll of stren 6lbs fluorocarbon line and just pulling a blood knot tight on a hook the lines snapping either at the knot of right in half. Is this normal for fluorocarbon? Should I switch to something like suffix?

fishing after storms?
first time at this lake and didn't want to lose my expensive cranks. the lipless came in one of those ready to fish deals. a lot of snags today. I was told the reservoir is like 45ft deep so went with the deeper diving stuff. went out more to try the new baitcaster and get used to it.

Line Breaking - Braid/FC - How to stop from happening
I put 6lbs stren flouro connected to 10lbs suffix elite for my steelhead setup and wrapped the flouro around the little hook on the spool and it snapped right off. tried tying a blood knot to hook today and pulling it tight snapped right in half. tied another knot and snapped again with minimal force. I think it might be bad line cause I've never had line break like that.

baitcaster issue-need help.
I was given a quantum tournament bait caster and had a bad backlash so went back to the truck and upon walking the line out I pulled the rod and reel off the truck bed and it hit the ground and broke the foot. I epoxied the foot and it worked great. even pulled up a limb from the bottom today and still held. Now the issue-----I set the brakes on it to just let the lure hit fall and had 0 backlashes and even got some very good distance. about the 3-4 cast it would backlash very bad and you could hear the spool spin/buzz. I would pick out the backlash and get the line tight and check the small knob by the drag and it was now turn all the way off. I would tighten it back up to where the lure slightly fell and again 3-4th cast its like the brakes not even on and the knob is all the way loose. I would set it at tight and turn maybe a 1/8-1/4 turn and all was well but turning the brakes back tight would take 2-3 full turns. what would cause this?

fishing after storms?
well fished a large reservoir today and water was very muddy so threw a green, orange and black lipless bait and got a couple hits probably from crappie as everyone was doing very good boober fishing for them as the hits were very light. Ended up losing the bait on a down tree. threw a texas rigged green curly tail power worm and lost it too got some light hits but nothing on the hook. threw a gulp stick work/sinking minnow and nothing on that. shad were jumping around a bit.

fishing after storms?
Cranks a waste of time? It's going to be 70s and sunny all weekend. Last 3 days was rain and snow.

fishing after storms?
ive got some large lakes from the state parks and wildlife area lakes around me in ohio and we are going to have a 70 degree weekend here but we got rain Wednesday/Thursday and a winter storm Thursday night into today. more wet snow than anything. so will I be wasting time and gas going to a few of these places to fish? wanted to try a reservoir too.

Anyone else sick of tackle boxes?
I ditched the box and bag this year. I purchased a medium size water bladder compatible pack that fits 2 3600 boxes and 2-3 smaller ones in the other pouch. Right now i have the 2 boxes in the main compartment and 2 smaller double sided boxes with crank baits and several packs of worms in there. pliers and such fit in the water bottle holders on the side and its very compact and holds all my stuff. I was even able to break down my 5ft7 ugly stick with 30 size reel and put it in the front draw string pouch. I plan on mountain biking a few state parks and fishing them so this fits perfect. I might end up going with a larger one to fit my bass and catfish stuff in there so i can do both at the same time. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trails-Larimore-Hydration-Pack/46488325?variantFieldId=actual_color

anyone use a president baitcaster?
a president bait caster? It shows new on their site so it must be a new version. I had never seen a pflueger bait caster before so was a little worried about getting one but found one for $50.

broke my baitcaster :(
Thanks! I've been doing some looking online today and torn between the silver max and just seen pflueger makes a president bait caster now 7bb in my price range. Im a little worried about the president being new and kinks might not be worked out yet.

anyone use a president baitcaster?
I have a president spinning reel and it seems like its a very nice reel. has anyone used the new pflueger president baitcaster? Its in my budget just want to make sure there are no issues with it being new.

broke my baitcaster :(
I spent so much money on getting back into fishing this year i have to keep it around the $60 range. After thinking about it last night the line was still attached to the lure and when i took the spool out and picked out the backlash and walked it back i was slowly pulling the rod off the bed cover. I have a few rolls of big game line so ill just cut it off from now on.

abu garcia silvermax combo?

broke my baitcaster :(
I used Gorilla glue epoxy last night and put it on the break and also over each crack pretty thick and checked it today with some forceful wiggling and it didn't move. I'm just learning on this thing to see if its something i want to get into so if i get a couple weeks out of it great. I plan on getting some plates and grinding them down and putting on there and jb weld them to it and see what happens.

broke my baitcaster :(
yeah I don't think it will hold either. I will try jb weld next. I ended up finding a very vague thing online about putting a piece of metal on the back and jb weld it to the foot to support it and basicly weld the whole thing together. What bombs me out more is that was an old tournament grade reel that was given to me by a friend to learn on and hopefully get some use out of so I didn't have to spend money on a new one. I really have no clue how the thing was dragged off the bed cover and hit the ground. My guess would be maybe the line got caught on the rod or something. I'm going to try and rig it up with the metal and zip ties mentioned above and see what happens. If it doesn't hold Ill pickup a blackmax or something.

broke my baitcaster :(
Not sure how to do pics. The part that broke is the flaps that sit in the groove on the rod they look like fins on the back of the reel. Top one snapped off

broke my baitcaster :(
SOO......I watched a few Bassresource.com videos on using a bait caster and headed to the lake today throwing a lipless crank bait. Everything worked great except I started playing with the dial on the left side and it was throwing weird so not paying attention I let it rip after about 20 casts with no issues and got a bad birds nest. Back at the truck I took the spool off and began digging it out and walking the line back and somehow as I'm 50yards away from the truck the rod falls off the bed cover. I watch my brand new rod hit the ground and then see the reel laying about 2ft away. I got some epoxy and put the reel seat back together as only the top part snapped. I really hope this works with the epoxy as this reel is a nice reel and was a gift.

what are these for?
those very tiny treble hooks will catch bass? I have an ugly stick ultralight with like 6lbs line i was wondering what i was going to use it for and now i know. LOL. The grubs are about 1.5inches and kind of fat. I have black and white along with black and white jig heads. How would you fish these for all the above from the shore? I also just found one of these too. more panfish stuff?
-
what are these for?
I was going through a lot of old tackle i had and found a lot of these things in the link and really have no idea what they are for. they seem a little small for bass. I have a lot of larger hook jig heads too that seem to go with the rubbers. I also found this little bug thing too and its got pretty small treble hooks so maybe bluegill and crappie?

cheap bullet weight question?
awesome thanks guys I almost threw them away. some are a little deformed and not a true cone shaped and some the holes are smaller than others. just didn't want to waste time with junk if it was an issue.

cheap bullet weight question?
