What did you learn on the water this week?
I learned that tidal Bass love to eat shrimp as they migrate from the interior marsh back offshore.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I just ordered a Curado K 8.3. It is replacing the 5 year old Curado on my worm rod that has been acting up. Don't worry about the old curado though. I'm going to bring it to the shop to have it reworked, when I get it back, I'll have no choice but to buy another rod to put it on.

Transporting rods in a Golf Wagon
In my wife's car. I run them along the driver and passenger side, next to the headrests. I rest of handle of the rod behind the back seats and I use the visor to secure the rod tip. I've never had any issues.

Starting a YouTube Channel
FatCatNewton has taught me several techniques, such as how to weedlessly rig a Vienna Sausage and using deer antlers to attract buck bass, he also came up with the idea to attach spinner baits to an umbrella rig. He is on the cutting edge of bass fishing techniques.

The Breakout Bass
I’ve had a few bass almost escape this way. That said, I’ve had a redfish knock the lid of ice chest open and jump out into the water. Couldn’t be mad, he definitely earned his freedom.

New tournament circuit announced today
I don't think BPT will kill off the elite series though. In the end I think it will just force BASS to be more competitive with how it compensates its anglers, as is already happening. As with almost any employer, the best to get better compensation is to get a better offer from the competition. A Boss I had several years ago, I asked him for a raise multiple times and he always turned me down. Several months later I found a better job and put in my notice, on my last day he came up to me and offered me a $3 an hour raise, which was more than I had ever asked for in the past. I didn't accept his offer, he was a horrible person to work for.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
My first couple years of bass fishing was nothing but shallow marsh fishing in SE LA. There are pretty much two different ways catch bass, fish the grass or fish right against the bank/roseau cane. I remember the first time I went to TB, I saw all these boats fishing out in what I would consider the in the middle of nowhere and I was blown away. I went home and starting doing research and that's when I learned that there is so much more to bass fishing than just bank beating.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
My TD trip is just over a month away! Can't wait! Staying at the Fort Polk Rec area in Pirates cove. Im going to be making a TW order soon to restock. Anyone got bait suggestions for TD in early fall? Are the fish usually getting into fall patterns by mid october? I know this has been a hot summer, I hope we get a few fronts in between now and then to drop the water temps a bit.

How would you fish this strange bait?
I can see why....looks like they modeled it off a bait fish they found swimming in the Chernobyl reactor cooling ponds. ? Let us know how it works!

I agree. This is one of my favorite things about MLF, is you actually get to see and hear how they approach a certain body of water and establish a pattern. I really enjoy watching the elite series, but you don't get near as much info from the anglers as you do in MLF.

Tungsten or Not to Tungsten?
I prefer tungsten for 2 reasons. 1. Size to weight ratio. The tungsten weight is smaller, this really comes into play with the larger punching weights. 2. Tungsten is more sensitive than lead.

How long after cold fronts blow in does the bite turn back on?
Summer cold fronts? What are those??!?!? LOL. We don't usually start getting any cool fronts till October, but yeah those first ones usually get the fish fired up. Also, usually a lot less fishing pressure as well, because of deer season.

Sometimes You Just Have To Laugh
Had a bad one like this once at the local park lagoon on my first cast of the day. Shortest fishing trip of my life.

Cost To Maintain : Two Stroke vs. Four Stroke ?
I don't really go by engine hours for my 115 4-stroke maintenance. I change my engine oil and lower unit oil every 6 months. I change the fuel filter inside the engine once a year. I change plugs and water pump about every 2 years.

Different rods or all the same?
I use a few different brands, Shimano, St. Croix, Abu and Okuma.

Organizing tournament tackle
I keep my soft plastics separate from hooks and weights as well. Currently I store original bag, inside ziplock bag. I'm thinking about transferring to plano boxes for my plastics though.

Popular Colors That Don't Produce for You!
I know red shad is a pretty popular soft plastic color. I've tried it several times and never had a bite.
