  1. Dang! Thats a good one! I have became brand loyal that way all i have to do is get it home and stick it with the rest of them and she never knows the difference
  2. I fish 2 tournaments a year. One in the first of may and the other the first of september. Its put on by the same guy and has been put on for tge last 30 years. I absolutely love the format. We fish for 12 hrs. 2 man teams. 6 fish limit. But only 3 of those fish can be over 18 inches. This rule was incorporated about 10 years ago. We dont all fish the same water. Its an open tourney. We meet up at 5am and meet back up for weigh in at 5pm. Keeps things super interesting. Last year was the first year we placed in the money and i won big bass at 5lb 10oz. Just a little insight to my favorite tourney format in southern indiana
  3. Thank you everyone so much for your info and input. Looka like ill probably just be going with a rod in the 200-250 range. Spent a little too much on the wife and the unborn child today lol.
  4. Thats what i plan on using mine for. 1/2 and 3/4 oz jigs. My favorite way to fish.
  5. For you guys that have used loomis and the zodias do they fish light or heavy to what they are labeled. I throw jigs now on a heavy 7'3 lews tp1 speed stick it fishes as close to a "heavy" as i can imagine maybe a touch heavier. And yes my original combo would be closer to 450-500. But thats with not much shopping around. Just on american legacy/ebay
  6. Love my royale legend. I have one on my chatterbait rod. Good entry level reel.
  7. May have some cash coming my way and was wondering about a high end jig combo. Looking at a chronarch mgl amd zodias 7'2 heavy. Not brand loyal but do love my daiwa tatulas. Trying to stay around 400 dollars. Thanks in advance.
  8. The bait, rod, reel, and line monkey has been whooping me since my bonus last november! I am done buying this year......is what i tell my wife.
  9. I use 10lb p-line cxx. On a 7' m/f rod and a daiwa tatula ct 8.1 gear ratio. Not saying this is the best but it works very well for me. Can chuck a jerkbait 40-45 yards.
  10. Lews tp1 speed stick. Love the winn grips.
  11. Thats the size fish i need for my tournament i fish in the body of water i mentioned.
  12. Wacky rigged or just threaded on?
  13. Seen a video the other day, a gjy was throwing a large football jig (3/4 or 1 oz) and had a 6 inch senko style worm wacky rigged as a jig trailer. Looked awesome in the water and i can only imagine how much it slowed the rate of fall. The 1 place i fish that has the potential of a big big fish gets hit hard with jigs of all sorts so it caught my attention. Anybody tried this rig before?
  14. Used to be all i used as far as floro goes. I liked it. I switched to p-line cxx now. If it werent for how cheap i can get it id still be spooled with red label. I only used the 8, 12,15, and 20 pound versions of red label.
  15. I seen that reel in my walmart as well. For that price, you could buy an orra winch right now from Cabelas with their sale they are having right now. I really like my orra winch. Some say it casts better than the revo winch.
  16. Southern hoosier here! Looks like moat of you guys are way north of me.
  17. New member here from around the Evansville area. Been bass fishing "hard" for about 12 years. Love to bluegill and crappie fish as well. Jigs are my confidence bait, whether it be a finesse jig, football jig, or a good ole arky head jig. Cant wait to keep learning from this forum.
