  1. Take some s when you get them! Micro gearing on the new Shimano JDMs is incredibly smooth, I am a believer have 2 Metaniums and 1 CI4!
  2. Yes, they both have the same crank size. Depending on your application I would go with a 102MM for power-fishing (Spinnerbaits, deep cranks, swim-baits, etc). The straight handle is great for flipping/pitching and t-rigging or some of the smaller profile reels such as the 50 size. In 2nd quarter of 2014 we are going to release a smaller swept for those smaller handed fisherman and those who prefer some of the finesse JDM offerings such as Daiwa Alphas. So keep an eye on our website for news and make sure you like us on Facebook to get the news first or at least look at some big fish pics periodically, lol! I'd like to thank BR for the platform and thank you members for the praise and support, we appreciate your loyalty and backing.
  3. I sent you an Email confirming your assumption, but for those on the forum who read this if you have any questions on reel fit please send me an Email and most likely we have either tested fit or you can be the "first" to test our handle on a particular reel model and we can extend a discount for your efforts for improving our database.
  4. The sports utility can't be used for paint ball since I believe its not impact tested, but the paint ball can be used both ways. My save phace has saved my face twice from snake birds that I hit and came over dash/windshield while running down the canal, and saved my buddy from getting speared in the neck by a snake bird, scary moment. A pair of glasses and a cloth face cover isn't going to cut it at over 60 MPH, sorry!
  5. When your finished hogging out on your Thanksgiving meal, make sure you HAWG out your fishing reels too! Use this coupon code during checkout BLK2014 and save 20% on your order http://www.hawgtech.com If you have any questions or can't find the reel you own on our website, send me an Email robert@hawgtech.com Thank you, Robert and Mike Team Hawg Tech
  6. I have both, totally different rods. I would pick the GLX for your intended application. Also, although I love my Dobyns rods, I have to admit I have consistent issues with guide rings popping off and have had some rod failures. In all my years of owning Loomis rods I have had ONE issue with a rod breaking on setup. Nevertheless, Dobyns has a great warranty service and replaces my guides/rods quickly, but for those with a limited quiver of rods, you may want to consider failure rates.
  7. I know what you mean, most of the micro brewery stuff in my opinion doesn't pass the taste test, but I really like Fat Tire, good beer!
  8. Want to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday! So how many of you on here are in charge of cooking duties? This year its my turn to cook the turkey(s) and of course I choose fried. Last night I injected a 12 pound bird with a crazy concoction of Fat Tire Ale, melted butter, cracked pepper and sea salt. The second fryer turkey I injected with Mojo marinade. Can't wait to fry them up! I have backup in case I mess up.....its called Honey Baked! Happy cooking!
  9. I use mine pretty much all the time in the early mornings and late evenings while running the boat, its mandatory equipment once you have one. Keep an eye on Ebay they have deals come up. I got a pair for $75 not too long ago.
  10. SEC has too many injuries that plagued top contenders GA, SC, and a incredibly tough schedule of playing each other too often. Famous Winston may be brought down by an alleged SEX scandal, but lets hope his name is cleared by the State, since the local police department couldn't find anything. As an FSU fan I want to play the best team in the Country and its not Ohio so go BAMA, but I don't want to speak to soon, since FSU in years past has dropped a game to an un-ranked team. It would be nice to see Ohio vs Clemson or SC in a bowl game though and watch their doors get blown off. Same with Standford or Baylor vs Auburn or Clemson.
  11. No its not a adjustable jack-plate, but it does give you an offset from the transom, so all appears fine from the picture. Most people never setup their boat to perform at the optimum, so the previous owner most likely used what was given to him and never tweaked it. Also, you really can't trust most marina or dealers to know what they are doing or take the time to do it right. Therefore, spend time reading this http://www.kencook.net/Setupart.html and surfing the internet for information on your specific boat and engine configuration. Lastly be willing to spend some money on trying different props or borrow some that fit your needs. Powertech propellers does an excellent job of providing setup advice here is their website http://www.ptprop.com/ We can speculate all we want, but unless we know gear ratio of engine, prop pitch, prop height relative to planing surface, weight distribution, etc. we may lead you astray.
  12. Eat well, lift weights, and running has worked for me very well. My wife was a Cross fit junky, but as with most late 30 and early 40 types...it should be called Cross FIX! I too like most go through ups and downs, its easy to fall of the staying in shape wagon. I need to get back on it! I have always wanted to try P90 or Insanity though. I was thinking orange theory, anyone do those workouts?
  13. FSU put them in a CLOWN suit Saturday night, which I or the entire nation wasn't expecting, FSU was a 3 point favorite prior to kick-off!
  14. What is your take with the rankings? I am surprised with the number 2 ranking my Noles received, but what the HECK is Baylor doing in there?
  15. I think Oregon, Ohio or Clemson/FSU (we will know after Saturday) will go undefeated, weak schedules!
  16. Cute KID! Gotta love ground blinds!
  17. Can't wait until it reopens, those fish haven't seen a lure in a week at least! I have a HAWG marked that I can't wait to get to!
  18. Wife is breast feeding the newborn, 4yo son says, "What's in your boob", mom says "Milk" 4yo ponders for a bit and ask "Does your other boob have apple juice?"
  19. The SEC football conference is the strongest conference Most likely the SEC champion will be the BCS champion Nevertheless, it is possible for a non-SEC conference team to get lucky and win the 2013 BCS championship. No arguing with that unless you are hallucinating. So I say to the SEC supporters than "GO NOLES! GO BUCKEYES! GO CLEMSON! GO DUCKS!" Down with Sab(t)an Down with LSU and Down with Texas A&M! I wish the SEC the worst of luck and the contenders the best, how about that!
  20. Depending on the era sometimes Shimano, sometimes Abu, but as of late (10 years) the Shimano reels in my opinion are a bit better, the middle of the pack Shimano Reels such as Citica and Curado compared to middle of pack Abu SX STX are about the same, with a slight edge to Shimano, I like the braking system of the Shimano's better, I like Abu's drag power better, Shimano also maintains its "out of box smoothness a bit longer" for equal amount of use. I still have some older Curados/Calcutta/Chronarchs/Citica that are around, but you won't fine any equivalent Abu's around my garage, sold them all. I have owned Morrums, STX, Premiers, Skeet Reese Revos (Best reel in Revo bass fishing line in my opinion), Records, and Cardinal Series spinners. The new JDM Shimano reels are absolutely amazing smooth and will drive the industry forward once again, just wait. Shimano spinners also are very good. I even like Daiwa better than Abu, lol, but that is another thread.
  21. Purple X raps worked like a crazy mad man, upgrade the hooks to 2x and you get a repeated Peacock catcher. Pop-Rs, Devil's horse also worked frantically is about as much as excitement you can get if they are hitting them. Ditto for lipless jerks, the protraps as mentioned before work well. I use to fish the Miami Ski Club lakes just about everyday years ago and it was absolutely addictive when the bite was on.
  22. Craigslist is your friend http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/spo/4076518698.html
  23. I am loyal to the teams I grew up with, Dolphins, Heat, FSU, and Braves. The Marlins are O.K., but when the Braves had spring training down here in West Palm and I would go to the games, Dale Murphy was 'the man" back then!
