  1. I almost ordered one for spinnerbait rod, but my logical side took over and bought the Curado E, I love my Chronarch B and 50MGs though SMOOTH AS SILK! Love the storm trooper look ENJOY!
  2. I have a Bushmaster so far so good, only shoot about 200 rounds a year through it though. Also look at Rock River Arms, my brother is a gun nut and says they are great for the money. He has 2 Les Baers Super Match and Flat Top, talk about SWEET!
  3. Nice fish there! Take the fashion pointers from your buddy Tackle Warehouse T-shirt and G. Loomis hats are good, crummy UM gear is bad. Probably could have caught a double digit fish with the Seminole spirit helping you. So how was it riding out there, lake level is a 10 1/4' Is little grassy alright if you come out of Okeetantie and curve around back North about 1/2 mile from weed edge?
  4. Hope you are joking on this, go check out a ballistics calculator with energy requirements for deer and you'll see that the .308 is well within the parameters to take deer comfortably out to 600 yards! Also when you state much better what do you mean specifically?
  5. Makes sense then, I have a canal/lake system in the backyard and have the wife snap pics with furniture in the background, the second fish still looks dead though
  6. Nighttime bass fishing at its best! Did you release both fish? Second one looks DEAD! Try a Spro Popper if the bite is slow on the buzzer and get READY for a HAWG!
  7. Dude, don't get your panties in a bunch, you'll should have the thumb mastery down in no time. I started fishing with bait-casters in 3rd grade, my first was a green Abu that my dad bought me, so I don't even really think about it anymore, do I wish I had these newer modern braking system when I first started "HECK YEAH" you know how many spools of Trilene or Stren I cut out during the learning curve. I still have yet to meet a real angler that can continuously cast directly into a strong head wind without any mechanical brake assistance using only his thumb. If mag brakes and spool tension are "training wheels" - then so are any braking system Because, most people need them! Also other than the JDM Scorpion and the digital controlled Shimanos (Best braking system out there) name one real in this company's lineup with a magnetic brake?
  8. The first number is the DIAMETER of the Propeller the second number is the PITCH. So from your statements you have a 14 1/4" Diameter and 21" Pitched prop. The more important number is the PITCH, since the diameter won't vary too much for your particular application. How many RPMS does your boat have when you are at wide open throttle while running down the lake? The way to test this is make a long run and begin with your engine trimmed all the way down. Apply full throttle until the RPMs and speed with you engine trimmed down are maxed out note RPMs, GPS speed, and water pressure. Now slowly trim the engine up (give it small bumps while mentally noting RPMs, Water pressure, and speed) and you should notice that you gain speed and RPMs as the boat comes up on pad, it is vital that you keep an eye on your water pressure making sure it doesn't drop below manufacturer recommended minimum water pressure. There should be a sweet spot where you get the maximum speed while not over revving (>400) and losing water pressure, this is the WOT setting. Read this excellent articles and PM me if you want some pointers: http://www.kencook.net/Setupart.html http://www.insideline.net/2005/bassn-rig.htm
  9. Spool tension knobs and magnetic brakes are training wheels! Centrifugal brakes on the other hand can help prevent professional overruns, I adjust my centrifugal brakes enough so that I can cast without overrun, usually 1 to 3 up all the rest down depending on conditions, although most of the times its only two up.
  10. Can't view page its private, must give permissions ?
  11. Who the heck cares if the fish was really caught with x brand lure and if the footage is 100% accurate? Its entertainment! To me shows are supposed to be entertaining not boring and real all the time, I like when Bill hooks a MONSTER in a PIT using whatever lure and you can hear the line TWANG, I don't like it when they are catching DINKS all day and the footage and sound looks like my teenage nephew filmed it with his go pro camera! By the way that show where Roland and Scott were slaying bass on the BIG O with Spro Aruka shads was real, I saw them filming it! I can tell you for sure though that they were not only throwing Aruka lipless, but others to get the school frenzied. If you watch the footage you'll notice that one rod has a diamond shad or rattle trap on it. Anyway, bass fishing is BIG business and from local sponsors to international sponsors it only sweetens the pot and makes fishing better for ALL of us as bass fisherman, so go ahead and SELL out it makes it better for ALL.
  12. I just picked up a Curado E this past week on eBay for $130 out the door, or should I say a new Chronarch.
  13. Supertuning can involve polishing frictional surfaces to a mirror finish and balancing spools kind of like car tires are balanced. I had a Calcutta supertuned once and all I can say is WOW as far as increased casting distance.
  14. Most manufactures have performance bulletins that are listed for their engines, find the boat motor combo that is closest to yours and assume roughly you get that gas mileage. Here is Mercury: http://www.mercurymarine.com/engines/engine-tests/outboards/
  15. Yes, not regional. I don' think you get the level of detail. I have it to as a backup. Here is more info: http://www.navionics.com/MobileMarineFAQs.asp?MobileType=iPhoneSingle&CategoryID=52&ViewCategoryID=0&SubCategoryID=2
  16. Here is an article with more pics! http://packandpaddle.blogspot.com/2010/05/huge-bass-caught-from-kayak.html
  17. AWESOME, Don't you love the WEB? I knew someone would either expose this as a hoax or find out the true story , I would have guessed 18 to 19lbs as I stated before! Goes to show you how pictures can be deceiving. Congratulations REGINA! You've lived the dream that keeps us bass aficionados returning to our little honey holes scattered across this great nation, BERTHA!
  18. Eye's look normal for a HAWG, the reflection is most likely due to the flash off the retina. I see what you mean with the overlap, but the bass is in the foreground obstructing her hand, looked at some pics of my fish and on the big'uns the huge lips and jaw overlap my hand. The picture is not very good quality since it was printed on regular printer paper and then I snapped a picture of it. Nevertheless, Florida has the potential!
  19. Open a photobucket or flicker account and upload to their site and then it as an img to this site. Photobucket allows you to do this simply by clicking then you can past it to the message body here. Not sure how flickr does it.
  20. Another alternative you may want to look at is the Daiwa Coastal Inshore CL153H (About $120). Its basically a saltwater version of the Team Daiwa Advantage so its a great proven workhorse. I use to to use a Calcutta 200GTB and my arms and upper body have been thankful ever since I switched.
  21. Went to my local Gander Mountain to pick up a few rounds for the shooting range with my buddy, on the way out we stopped and stared at the cork "bragging board" and said WOW! So I snapped this pic with my phone to share. Funny thing is that there was a sticky note next to it saying if someone knows this person to please call a number! So I called the posted number to hear if the inquirer heard any news but unfortunately he did not. It could be a hoax, but the way the person (Can't figure out if it is a he or she ), is holding it looks real. I know its tough to near impossible figuring out how big a bass is from a picture, but I would say this bass is at least in the high teens! What's your take, does anyone here know anything about it?
  22. Depends who it comes from
  23. ???, really you threw away Samurai cause it sucks big time? First person that I have heard say that, to me its the smoothest quietest braid out there, yes the color runs, but not anymore than other quality braids. You may have had an issue since it smaller in diameter that other braids of same rated lb test and is extremely limp so you must be aware of what its doing especially when loading up to cast, but saying it sucks big time is a stretch. I would reserve those choice words for lines like the original Fireline or worse yet, Fireline Crystal, haven't tried the Fireline Braid though, the original and crystal superlines are fused lines not true braid. Also, my experience is mostly using braid on level wind reels, not spinning reels, although some people like some memory on spinning outfits to avoid wind knots. You may also want to try Suffix Performance braid,
  24. I have used them yes, Samurai is my favorite for most applications, but lately I have been using Suffix 832 for sinking applications. Stick with Samurai for hollow body frogs or any other topwater application and 832 for sinking applications.
