Price to sell cranks to co worker that needs some
Did he ask for some or offer to buy some of them from you? If so, I think the prices you are mentioning seem fair. If it's a buddy, I think I'd be more likely to just give a friend a few, or another option would be to give some of my used or open stuff and keep the new ro replace. Your call though! It's your stuff and you are obviously not trying to gouge your buddy. The local bait shop has a table with used or closeout surplus baits and everything is $2 a piece. Sounds like the prices you mentioned for new stuff is more than fair.

Asian Fishing Portal
Thanks Tennesee! That is good information. Also good to know I could create a new account with a new email and it doesn't have to match Paypal. I will try that!

Asian Fishing Portal
It's yahoo. I don't save any passwords anywhere, so they shouldn't be saved in browser history. As for creating new account under a different email,... I thought Paypal was one of the only options for paying, and my email tied to it is the one not working

Great minds think alike! ? I tried that and it tells me that email account already exists and stops me.

Asian Fishing Portal
Yep,... I've tried it a few times and haven't gotten anything back on any of them. Hate to not be able to order from them if I can't get it resolved, but worst case, I guess there are other vendors.

Help with Daiwa Fuego baitcaster backlash?
Why so hostile? I think PhishLI asked some reasonable questions. Yes,.. The OP commented that it seemed his leader know was catching on the eyelets, but he also said he hadn't really used a baitcaster in 12 years and was asking for input. I had many of the same questions as PhishLI. For instance,.. If trying to throw too light of lures on too heavy of a rod, the leader knot catching would be much more likely to cause issues than using a more balanced lure to rod setup. Don't understand why someone would get so upset about another member asking reasonable questions.

Asian Fishing Portal
Thanks! Problem is what to do with it being a foreign site. I've checked all the folders, and even tried it again making sure the email address was right that is tied to my Paypal account used to pay. No luck.

Got a strange question for everyone. Hoping someone had the same and can offer advice. Wanted to order a second Alphas SV and also noticed they have SLX MGL71 in 6.3 gear ratio. Couldn't remember my password so I hit "Forgot Password" and entered my email address. It says it sent a password reset email to my address, but never received anything from them. Checked spam, junkmail and trash folders thinking it may have got caught there, but nothing. Any ideas or suggestions?

Looks like it would skip well!

Why I Love BassResource.com
I haven't been a member here very long, but what I appreciate is the people, their opinions and the amount of subjects and feedback. I've read some other forums, but it got boring because of the limited amount of subjects posted and the limited feedback when there was. I like the fact that on here there are new subjects daily, and the people keep coming back frequently to offer their feedback. I have learned some new things, had some good conversations, and seen a bunch of people supporting each others shared interests.

Do you find a nice rod or reel to be a bigger upgrade?
Agreed. Ugly sticks have proven to be very durable rods that are very capable for certain things, but they will never be accused of being very sensitive. If someone is looking for a cheap <$50 rod that has decent sensitivity for the price, I have had good experience with Berkley Lightning Rods and Daiwa AirdX.

Shimano Curado 200 K Or Shimano Curado 150 MGL
Been there! I had that happen once. You know you're in trouble when you HEAR the backlash occur!! I remember looking down and thinking "Nope!!"

Brand loyal with reels?
Not really brand loyal here. For casting reels I have Daiwa, Shimano, Abu, Lews, and BPS. I started with Abu Ambassadors and expanded to Revo S, STX, and Winch. When Gander Mountain was closing down their stores I got some REALLY good prices on Lews reels so I picked up a hand full and like them. What I use depends on the application. I really like Daiwa Mag brakes for pitching, skipping, and any close in work where I'm working around cover. For cast and retrieve techniques where a centrifugal brake shines, I like Shimano reels or my older Gen3 Revo S. Lews dual systems like the Custom SLP. Tourn MB or the Abu Revo Stx work nice when you're doing a bit of both like T-rigged plastics where I may pitch it around here and there, then cast out a little further at a more distant target. For spinning reels I have always been more loyal to Daiwa starting with older Regal X and Regal Z. Liked the Pflueger President for a while too. But they have dropped off a bit in quality IMO. Currently like Daiwa Fuegos, Regals, and even the cheaper Revros. I don't spend near as much on my spinning reels as casting.

Not happy with new reel quality, even cheap old gear seems better than new
I pretty much agree. I have my Tatula 100 on a Dobyns Kaden with a swim jig and its just not a very smooth or quiet reel. It gets maintained well along with all the rest, but it's just noisy. Maybe it's just a noisy one, but it has kept me from spending even more on a Tat80 or Tat SV70. Get your Alphas SV going! I have been VERY happy with mine. I have it on an older Techna AV and pitch/cast light belly weighted craws with it. Love it! Smooth casting and extremely smooth reeling.

Trigger Happy Grips?
I can understand that! I can see where that could make a difference. I had the same issue with a couple rods that had large triggers on them so I got the dremel out and removed some of it. Some are open in the center of the trigger though and don't allow it.

2023 Lews Elite baitcaster
So wait a minute,.... Are you guys saying Scooby is TackleAdvisors? I wasn't aware of that, but I do enjoy TackleAdvisors videos and noticed there hasn't been any new content in some time. I also agree with the comment about the cast testing Shimano fanboy. Got tired of his videos trashing everything but Shimano and acting like distance is the only factor. Don't get me wrong... I like the Shimanos I have. But it just got tiring and there ARE other good reels.

Is mono better than braid for throwing a Whopper Plopper 90 on MH baitcaster?
If it's middle to end of cast, centrifugal brakes probably aren't going too much for you. They work best at initial release when spool over-runs the lure from rod whip caused by loading at the start of the cast. If it's happening in the middle of the cast, you probably want to apply a little more spool tension with the cast control knob until you can get more comfortable controlling the spool with your thumb

Medium Light Rod and Reel Recommendations?
Right,... That's the point I was trying to make. Just didn't understand the investment to cast something my spinning reels do so well. Before BFS reels came about, it was more of a struggle and looking for custom spools. Just not a path I chose to go down. As for the Phenix Feather,... I have never tried them in casting models, but liked the spinning version I bought so much I bought a second. Actually,.. The truth is my wife used it when she wanted to try a different setup and liked it so much she commandeered it,... so I went and bought another! ?

Medium Light Rod and Reel Recommendations?
I like a well balanced spinning setup for those things. I don't have a single ML casting setup. Never understood the struggle to find the right casting setup for light stuff when the right spinning setup works so well, Maybe it's one of those "Because we can" or "Challenge Accepted" kinds of things.

Is mono better than braid for throwing a Whopper Plopper 90 on MH baitcaster?
I use that same exact Mojo Spinnerbait MHMF rod as my Whopper Plopper rod. I'm currently running 17lb Suffix Tritanium Plus and have a Gen3 Revo S on it, which a slower 6.4 ratio compared to what you're using. It casts like a dream and doesn't overload/underload the rod. I may have missed it, but when are the issues happening? At the beginning of the cast or in the middle to end? May just need to play with brakes or cast control. I don't have a Curado K to compare to.

Medium Light Casting Rods
I don't have any ML casting rods at the moment. I had one in a BPS Crankin Stick, but gave it away because I wasn't a fan. I guess I just feel like if I am throwing that light of stuff I will just throw it on my spinning reels

Baitcaster Gear Ratio and Retrieve Smoothness
I don't know that I can say gear ratio directly impacts smoothness, because mechanically there isn't any mechanical reasoning I can apply, but.... I do have to say that as a general rule, my 5 and 6 spd reels are smoother reeling than my 7 and 8 speed reels, and tend to stay that way. I've got near 40 setups of various manufacturers (BPS, Abu, Lews, Daiwa, Shimano) and collectively the slower reels are smoother with a few exceptions.

Trigger Happy Grips?
Not for me. I've got a friend that was into the handle knob covers like those. Tried them and didn't like them. If anything I have modified rods to remove material and make the trigger less prominant, not add to them

Question for Road Warrior
On a river I would start paying more attention to current breaks than any particular structure or cover I look for in a lake
