  1. Congrats! I live in Ohio and I'm yet to catch anything over 2 1/2 lbs.
  2. It's always changing. There's days where I smash them along the banks or in deeper water then some days I'll sit at those spots for an hour or two and you'd think there aren't any fish in the whole pond. Do what everyone else is saying and study the fish you're looking for, it will help you figure out where to look first and go from there
  3. Just a pair of fishing pliers and a sheath hooked onto my back pocket. Has a little pinch point that cuts all line smoothly and a needle nose. The only 2 things I ever seem to need.
  4. I thought it was normal too, my buddy has the shimano and his doesn't do that with braid. I'm posting a video of it when I get home to give you guys a better idea, I'll apply some oil as well
  5. I recently purchased the C oncept A and it performs beautifully. My buddy said it was making weird noise which I thought was normal. When I cast it makes a noise almost like a zipline or if you were to sound out the letter Z for a few seconds but at a higher pitch (that's the best way I can explain it). The casting distance isn't affected and it doesnt make the noise when I reel in or if I pull line out with my hand. I am using braided line I wonder if it's just the grooves from the braid running up against the eyelet that feeds the line out to the rod? That's the only thing I can think of. I've read up on it and some people say it may be the brakes but the noise is described differently. Any insight would be appreciated.
  6. I prefer chatter bait, but I've only used a spinner bait on a couple of trips. I'll throw it anywhere besides thick weeds and it always produces for me.
  7. Conveniently a new video is out about plastic worms!
  8. A Texas rigged senko will really help you develope a feel for when a fish bites. Everybody will tell you that hooksets are free so if you feel something like a nibble set the hook! You'll start to realize when you're running into things on the ground or if you have a fish nibbling at your bait. For a while I just used a rooster tail because the fish just seemed to hook themselves, but when I got into soft plastics it was hard for me to tell what was going on in the water so I recommend starting there first.
  9. No problem, the app is called Capture. It's super easy to set up it took 5 minutes at the most. There's another one called Splice I believe and it let's you edit everything right there. Edit: The editing app is called Quik. I messed around with it for a bit it's very simplistic editing and you can't do a whole lot but it's free and works well!
  10. I connected my camera to the app on my phone and I keep it nearby so I can check the angle and everything. It really comes in handy!
  11. Better than having a fish on the line and stepping over in the shore and sink to my thighs in loose mud. Soaked my muck boots and almost ruined my phone too. Kept the fish though!
  12. Did you fall over in the first video? It looked like it and made me laugh haha.
  13. I bought an extra battery so I have about 3 hours of life to work with. I thought about getting a battery pack or something to keep it constantly charging but as of now 3 hours is more than enough for me to work with. I have the Hero 5 and it's waterproof out of the box, and the sound quality isn't so bad. I was very worried about that though.
  14. I was sitting at the store trying to figure out which one I wanted.. I figured the chest mount would be better overall because like you said I'm always turning my head.
  15. I've had a few close calls with my phone almost taking a dive. This makes it way easier!
  16. Thanks so much for that! I was just recording continuously but this is way better and it'll save memory space. Have you had a lot of luck doing that? I actually saw somebody using one in a field today on my way back from one of my local ponds. I've watched some videos a while back and they found some interesting stuff.
  17. I was at Cabelas today in the discount section and found a Gopro Hero 5 $100 off so I had to pick it up. It's nothing special but I'm happy with this investment I've made.
  18. Im irish with extremely pale skin. I use a hoorag when I'm in the Sun, it gets a little warm but protects my fair skin. Though I have been known to get burned through my shoes. I had the pattern of the laces outlined in my feet! If I was in the middle of a lake with no shade I'd invest in one of these though I can't risk sun poisoning again

That looks like a good time! I enjoy FFDP but I haven't listened to the other bands. Thanks man I'll check this out! I would hate to miss out on a week of fishing.

Hahaha agreed. I'm leaving a few days early to get some fishing done while in Michigan.. kill two birds with one stone. I'll be in Rothburry, Michigan for this Festival, if you're near there can you let me know of some nice places to fish while I'm up there? Gonna be there for about 3 days before I start the festivities

Anybody else enjoy festivals? Whether it's EDM, Rock, Ragae, Punk, etc.. I personally enjoy going to Nelsons ledges here in Ohio. In a month I'll be heading to Michigan for Electric Forest! I'm going to get a go pro to record some of the shenanigans and will probably post it in here.
