Swimming at Bass Pro Shops
If this is the richmond VA store as it appears it is, here in va we have citizens arrest. If worked there id be all over them kids. BPS could easly get these kids, ping the video, find out whos phone it was recorded on get the names that were said and press charges for destruction of private property. Not to mention the stress they caused on the fish. I will give the kids props for doing it though. If one of those gars got freaked out and went of its rocker they would have been in a world of hurt. Ive seen a 15" gar rip a hand open twice when suddenly spooked.

I will be heading out either way. If it ends up no one shows I will head to bull run and fish the upper part of the quan.

Depending on the weather I would say 7am to 1pm or so. Ive opened all weekend up next weekend for fishing so it doesnt really matter to me on the time.

Acctoink is a crap hole. my house backs up to the lake so I decided to yak it with sonar last year after the dredging and it was still no deeper than 6-10' and nothing but mud bottom, theres carp in there but thats about it. Im down for the head, just get ready to do lots of paddling.

I still say the river, even if its at fountainhead and we have to pay to launch. Burke is so clear it takes to long to warm, Royal has the construction which sucks and horrible bottom structure but its on the smaller side and has some very decent fish locked in. Mercer is a long walk just to launch. Huntsman is alright but has no side cover so it could get very windy cause some issues with some and there forward momentum. I vote for the river- Its about that time of year again
well if we park across from kinchloe theres a good amount. but we could also hit up lake braddock if anybody lives over there. I know if we put a bunch of yaks in theyll send the president of the HOA down to look for passes. but it has much better access for peeps on foot. I got a 7lb4oz out of there last spring.- i found out firstHAND
Man ratltraps are dangerous, I caught my friend last year. The best part is, I was getting ready to launch it and he got up into the line of fire and got hit in the neck. caught his adams apple. Ive never heard this sound before it was kinda a rattle thump when it hit. I asked if he wanted me to take it out and he said he would try, but by the time we reached the boat launch I was freaking out enough to just call the ambulance. Funny thing is they did exactly what i was going to do and charged him $800 on top of insurance.- Its about that time of year again
I've been fishin out the yak for years and never once had an issue with wind causing stability issues. The biggest issue ive had is lots of energy spent paddling(by hand). I have a sit in with ruder and im less than 150lbs so i guess if your large and exposed to the elements you could have stability issues and the cold could be uncomfortable. If we put in at bullrun and head up stream then there should be very little wind, its only about 60 yards wide for a couple miles and if you stay close to shore youll have less to swim if you get ejected. Im going to go by there and drop a thermometer to check temps.- Its about that time of year again
Warm enough for the fish to bite!! Some hand warmers and a wind breaker and you'll be straight.- Its about that time of year again
i say we all put in right below bull run marina, we park in the lot across from kinchloe rd and cart the yaks down.- about bull run creek
i know theres quite a few places you have to gt out and move over laydowns / shallow water, but im definatly up for it later this spring- Live Leaderboard--Problem
skeet got it by 11 oz... d**n I wish mikonelli would have taken it. i bet hed would drop the trophy though- about bull run creek
im interested as well. Thought about it last year but didnt really feel like going single, it would be nice to have some one to experiance the trill with. Let me know!!- Its about that time of year again
I was thinking either the last weekend of feb. or the first weekend of march. Im still waiting on BPS to get my Big Cranker instock, then I can start saving for a mod-v jon boat. Casting with 7'+ rods out of a SIK is not exactly the easiest task to accomplish.- Va guys post up!
Im from NOVA and fish from here all the way down to my fams house in lynchburg. in a kayak for now but hopefully by mid spring ill have a Jon boat with gas.- Its about that time of year again
I think we should get a nova kayak trip togeather and head down to Briery Creek Lake. The biggest females should be starting to load their guts up now, water temp at Burke Lake was 47-49F on friday but with the snow today it may drop alittle. I just can't wait.- Any of you Richmond guys going to BPS soon?
after going to both richmond and baltimore last weekend i will have to vouch for the baltimore store. much more fishing gear instock as to richmonds massive amounts of hunting equipment. From alexandria it takes me about 1hr 20min to either store. Call Josh at the baltimore store, he knows his stuff and is much quicker on the phone than the richmond guys, if he doesn't have it he can get it. example BPS doesn't sell the st croix ltb big cranker but he was able to get corp. to order it for me. I will be picking it up this weekend hopefully. Last weekend I ended up picking up a Carrot Stix and Revo SXHSL for flippin. Got my 7'2" Cumara last winter for plastics from B-more and love it.- St. Croix Big Cranker & Revo Winch
i thought the free glasses was only through BPS, i could be wrong though it could be through Pure Fishing. I would stay away from ebay unless you don't care about warrenty terms. Mine should be here today or tomarrow, I am so anxious. For swim baits I think I might try the Falcon Cara T7 Cara Head Turner or Amistad.- St. Croix Big Cranker & Revo Winch
will let you know as soon as BPS calls me and lets me know they have mine instock!! They carry every other LTB but not the big cranker, it has to be special ordered through BPS corprate, so i bit the bullet and ordered it. And to top it off I reel left handed and theres been a massive back order on the winch lefty. Gift cards are great until the store their for is out of stock of everything your after!!- I finally pulled the trigger.................
I feel you pain as well maybe even worse... Just bought a Revo winch and a StCroixLTB big cranker, both of which had to be special ordered through basspro, so half a grand is gone and I have to wait up to 2 weeks. but that gives this ice some time to give way to the sun and start warming them hawg bellys up. Let us know how you like your new combo- "Extremely" satisfied
i dont know guys I have 3 reels used all the time one is the BPS extreme, one is a AG revo sx and one is a AG revo stx all on Shimano Cumaras 7'2" and I can out cast the extreme any day with the AG revos, and the 28lbs drag is untouchable by BPS extreme. Also the extremes spool friction knob is too unreliable it has to be adjusted to often for different baits and it is not as easy/user friendly as the revos. The extremes are good quality for their price though!! Ive had the curados just dont like their braking system with heavy 5/8+oz lures, to much adjusting!! - Its about that time of year again
