Search Baits
Just catching one doesn't show you anything. When using a search bait your looking for quantity(schools) then go back with a worm or jig and get your quality. It works really well during the spawn cause you can locate the males and come back and pick the females off. Also good post spawn when the fish can be harder to locate.

Snakeheads Today
Potomac snakeheads fight for a few seconds then it turns to pulling a dead log in.

After Watching The Junk Fishing Video
Go out and fish different cover. When you catch one, note where when how and why. Start looking for more places that match your last catch. Example if you go out throwing a senko and catching them off wood laydowns in 5 fow, that is close to 2-3foot depth change with the sun in your face and wind at your back. Start looking for and try to replicate that scenario. It doesn't always have to be that detailed either. Somedays any rocky bank I pull up to we catch numbers no matter what the wind or sun is doing, some times everything has to be perfect. Good luck guys hope this helps

How Far Will Bass Move In A Day?
WRB I remember those. And the one that moved all over the lake. They did it for a whole season if I recall correctly. Very interesting to see how much they would move in 3 days. There was that one that cruised the lake up and down multiple times. Excellent post

Gear Ratio For Crankbait Rod
Too slow and you'll be beat when she turns and makes a much speed b line towards you. Keeping up with a 5:1 is nearly impossible without cranking your arm off. Personally its easier to slow down than to go full blast.

Trouble With Jig Hookups?
Cut 3-4 fibers out of the weed guard, this will make hooksets easier. Also make sure your hooks are super sharp, I've caught a few this year that set good enough to get the barb through. Good luck.

Your Favorite Rapalas
Manns and KVD > Rapala and cost less too. The silent versions have been a killer on grass flats this year.

Setting The Hook On Cranks
I rarely ever set the hook with treble baits. Most the time they smack the bait so hard they hook up themselves. Once the fish is on,I keep constant pressure on the fish while keeping the rod tip below my waist. And I always net fish on trebles, hooks in human skin doesn't feel very good. Good luck on your crankin adventures

Which Color Costa Lenses?
If I'm not mistaken, almost all Costa lens are based off Amber with a colored polarized finish. Personally I have a pair of green mirror 580 glass lens and its unbelievable how much more clear and sharp they are compared to my polarized oakleys

Revo Stx Users Question.
40x3 is 120... so casting 105-120 feet that's more than 2/3s of the spool. Honestly its really hard to judge linear feet with out having a measuring tape. Not trying to bust anyone's ball here
-
Revo Stx Users Question.
You can cast 35-40m? That's almost all the line on each reel. If your getting that much line off without mag brakes now you should never need them. I can get maybe 75ft off my curados and about 65ft off my stx, both spooled with 12lb flouro.
-
Revo Stx
What size line are you using? I have four revo stx and two curados. Curados seem to handle lighter line better. I keep 10# on curados and 12# on stx. Which brand is better?? Hook them up to each other and start a tug of war. My stx will pull a curado off its reel seat

Kayak Angler Hit By Boat
Yes it was on the potomac, fortunately it was last year. No real issues this year, just a lot of of people who don't understand what no wake zone is. The Potomac bite has been amazing, over 400 fish in the boat in the last month. Got 4 over 6lbs a dozen or so 4lbers lots of 3 and below

Kayak Angler Hit By Boat
Gopro on ski pole mount. Looks legit to me. Honestly I was speechless just watching it, I couldn't imagine being the yaker. You kinda can't do anything be 1 humanpower @ 330lbs vs 10+horsepower @ 800lbs, like a game of chicken between a smart car and a Hummer. I have been fishing in my Jon boat on a spawning flat and had a 250hp Stratos come full throttle about 10 yards away from me. I was about to get belligerent and stupid then relized its a lot easier to remain cool. Followed them for a while from a distance and finally got close enough to find who and what tourney they where fishing(all while remaining calm) took a picture of them and the boat and promptly informed Virginia and Maryland Marine police. Let them know which launch the tournament was held and which launch we had used. Within an hour we were kindly approached by Fairfax County Game Wardens to collect info on the incident that happened. After exchanging info we went back to fishing free and clear of trouble or damages. Hopefully guy in yak reported them. Seeing stuff like this just irritates the pee outta me. Biting my tongue hard

Square Bill Problems
Fish with you rod tip at the 10-11o'clock position and you will get the correct running depth. When you feel trash on you line/lure give it a quick rip to try and free the debris. Recently I've been fishing the 1.5s and 2.5s in 1.5-3ft of water packed with grasses. I keep my reel at my face level with rod tip at 11o'clock, just enough depth to tick threw the top 3-5" of grass. When I feel the wobble cease I give it a nice POP and free it up. When the grasses are closer to the surface on slack tide I will throw the Mann's SB's

I Felt So Bad Fishing Yesterday
This past week, we gut hooked a nice 4lber. Bled all over, tried to revive her but to no avail. Tossed her back in right next to a osprey nest. Got to watch the chain of life take place. Sucked but it was also really neat to see that nothing hoes to waste.

Common Fishing Things/ Problems That Never Happen To You
LOL cowgirl, I am guilty of it once. We were fishing out of a 10' Jon boat, I told him to sit down so I could make a long cast. He thought he saw me cast and stood up at the wrong time. Got 4 hooks to the cartilage surrounding his trachia. The worst part of the whole situation, when I called 911 to see what to do they sent an ambulance. Took him to the ER, sat there for 3 hours with said ratltrap hanging from his neck only to have a DR come in and cut the hooks and pushed them thru. All at a hefty cost of $1600, I was able to retrieve the lure from the hazardous waste bin though. I have not and will not fish a ratltrap ever again, SK redeye only.

Common Fishing Things/ Problems That Never Happen To You
Yall arnt fishing hard enough. If your not hooking your bestfriend in the throat with a rat'L'trap your not doing it right. And breaking line on a hook set, haha try a couple rod tips.

Sk Kvd 1.5?
Poprg something most be wrong. I run mine on a St croix big cranker with same reel but with 12lb c21 copoly and it easily goes 5'. I would contact SK and see what they'll do for you, its gotta be a defect. Both my 1.5 and 2.5 go 5'+ the only difference I have noticed with my silent 1.5 is it wobbles more like the 2.5 with a heavy X opposed to a wide S like the rattling 1.5s I have.

Sk Kvd 1.5?
Bps is not the only ones with rattling version. I purchased all 8 of mine from Walmart or dicks and they are rattlers. There is a non rattling version, Im pretty sure its denoted as kvd 1.5HD and 2.5HD
