In line circle hooks for trout #8, what brand?
I definitely need circles. Waaayy too many gut hooks (basically 100%). Kids are fishing a fish finder rig with bait, with a loop in the line to allow the trout to run a bit before hooking itself. Even if I dont make the loop, there is normally enough slack from wind to allow for the gut hook. Kids dont have long attention spans so rods are dead sticked. Got to find #8 circle inlines! Gama doesnt make #8 inlines I need to find another brand!!!!!!! Is a #6 hook too big for trout? http://www.gamakatsu.com/fishing-hooks.php?pid=1115 http://www.gamakatsu.com/fishing-hooks.php?pid=1117

In line circle hooks for trout #8, what brand?
Darn. I was about to buy some Gamakatsus off Ebay but just realised they are offset. Gama does not make #8 in-lines. Lucky I caught it. Where can I find #8 inline circles? Which company makes these? Thanks.

What color 4" YUM Dinger?
I know, its color! But I see all the Youtube vid guys are using green type ones. Safe to go with green pumpkin, watermelon seed, mardi gras? For what its worth, I think color definitely matters. My yellow powereggs for trout outfish any of the other colors I have including pink and orange.

Favorite Bait to Wacky Rig?
I saw I Youtube vid on the Bass Resource channel where the guy said he prefers these over the Senkos because of durability. Im going with this!

Zebco 202 Slingshot Fishing Combo, $10 at Walmart
Got it. So the 202 is essentially a 33 with plastic gears, makes sense. So I guess I need to decide between the Dock Demon or the 33! I also have like 8 spinning rods at home...... I wonder if my 5 year old could figure out how to use a regular spinning reel. I wonder if I should try that first before buying another 2 spincast reels.

Zebco 202 Slingshot Fishing Combo, $10 at Walmart
Mmmm so the dock demon stock reel is garbage? Darn. I was hoping this would work. And what about the 202 vs 33?

Gamakatau makes inline circle #8s. Looks like I'm going down the rabbit hole. I'm going to buy some new zebcos now. That escalated quickly......

Zebco 202 Slingshot Fishing Combo, $10 at Walmart
Man so many options.... Also just found the Zebco 202 Dock Demon spincast. Looks like 6lb vs 10lb line and a 2.5 ft rod vs a 5.5 ft rod. This may be better for a toddler but I don't want the reel to break after one trip. Are these reels any good?

Zebco 202 Slingshot Fishing Combo, $10 at Walmart
Someone mentioned I should get the Zebco 33 but its looks a bit beefy for a 3 & 5 year old. The rods are like 5.5'. I was taking a look at the 202. Are these any good or just junk that will break after 2-3 trips? Any idea what # line this comes standard with? Thanks guys. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Zebco-202-Slingshot-Fishing-Combo/8144063

Eagle Claw 7/8" Weighted Oval Balsa Spring Float, comments?
I guess weight vs non weighted is what Im trying to decide on. I want to get a nicer bobber vs the regular red/white round floats they sell at Walmart. Particularly for a 3 year old thats closer to the ground for better visibility. Seemed like these types of oval weights would be better for kids, casting distance wise too. They float upright correct (vs lying on their side?). I think it would be easier for kids to see an upright one. Anyone used these? Any reason not to get one? Thanks.

Hook Up Ratio With Circle Hooks?
Any recommendation for a 1/0 hook? I want to use these for 4 inch YUM worms and maybe shiners if I decide to catch them down the road. I see BPS sells Gamakatsu Nautilus hooks which are popular in the reviews. Would this be a good choice? TY.

Hook Up Ratio With Circle Hooks?
Im fishing a pond with really small bass (maybe like 7 inches?). I think I should go with 1/0. Thanks.

Hook Up Ratio With Circle Hooks?
I'm planning to rig a 4 inch YUM Dinger to a circle hook and dead stick under a bobber. What size circle hook do you guys recommend? Thanks.

New to bass fishing with young kids, tips, what rig etc?
1) Guys, what size circle hook do I use with the dead stick senko/bobber rig? 2) What size hook shall I use for catching shiners (can I use the gama circles size 8 I already have?) 3) What size hook should I use for using shiners as live bait? Thanks!

Senko under a bobber
Darren thank you for this. Im trying to place and order today so hopefully BP will have it in store by Friday. I got to get to the water this weekend! My kids had a blast this past weekend. Thanks guy. Someone mentioned using a 4 inch worm. That the best? On the BPS website, the 5 inch worm is BY FAR the most reviewed. How come? Also, what size hook for deadsticking a 4 inch senko with bobber? I love circles for catch and release.

New to bass fishing with young kids, tips, what rig etc?
Im going to do this. 4 inch Senko with bobber it is, thanks!!! Plan B is to catch some shiners on the side. What size hook shook I use? Im using size 8 gamakatsu circles for trout. Would these work? Another dumb question, sorry. What size hook should I use with the 4 inch senko bobber rig? I know bass hook differently, but I still want to go with circles for nearly guaranteed catch and release. Thanks.

Senko under a bobber
Thats great news for the kids, thanks. I saw a vid where a guy was using an o-ring. Do you know if I can get something similar at Bass pro?

Senko under a bobber
I know this is an old thread, but anyone else had success dead sticking a Senko with a bobber? Does it work, or do you need to actively retrieve it?

New to bass fishing with young kids, tips, what rig etc?
If live bait is my only option, what about catching some shiners while the kids fish? I have a live bait bucket. I assume I could string up say 5 hooks and tip with bread? What size hook would I need?

No stores near me sell them. Bit a pain to buy. They also come off the hook pretty easily with kids trying to cast (stuck in bushes etc). Also not a fan of just killing stuff for sport, even if it is a worm haha. If I could buy an artificial worm that works just as well, that is durable and last a long time, that stays on the hook etc, then thats a win IMO. But as long as it works like the real thing!

I got to say. My 3 year old girl. She just had her bday two weeks ago. I got her one of these. Her 5 year old brother grabbed it first, tried to cast a bunch of times, was unsuccessful. She picked it up while standing on the dining room table, and nailed 3 casts in a row (I got two on camera, the little rubber fish ended up in the kitchen). We couldn't believe it. I think she's a natural. Anyway Im sure I can get them to practice around the house and maybe get them to jig down the road. But what rig do I get for this weekend??? Im lost in all this. Im planning to dead stick some powerbait eggs for trout, thats kind of a guaranteed catch on the side. But I want to give them another rod to hold at the same time. I'll start off with a bobber and once they learn to cast at home, I'll switch to a jig. 1) So guys, with a bobber, if no live bait, what do I use!!!!?? 2) And when I switch do active retrieving, what do I use? Thanks!! Oh an please keep in mind Im totally new to this. Jargon like wacky Senko is lost on me until I YouTube it haha!

Any bobber recommendations? I've got the usual plastic Walmart cheapos, but I was looking at Bass Pro, and saw this one? I was thinking something with height that sticks up on the water more may be better for kids as they're so low to the ground? Do you know if these have weight to them that I can cast out further? What do you guys use?
