  1. I won't buy anything from Wright and McGill every again. Had 9 of the original Victory reels and 7 of them had problems.
  2. I have both. The Ghost is more sensitive and lighter however the Ghost rods have a long handle which I'm not a fan of. Both great rods though. Also like people have said I like my *** better than both of them.
  3. Anyone else really disappointed in the new white color BPS choose for the Carbonlite rods and reels this year. I personally liked the smoke color rod/reel they use to be. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me we already have Abu and Duckett using white rods and they have the Bionic Blade in white.
  4. Vanish line and Wright and McGill Skeet Reese reels
  5. I'm not a fan of fluoro had to many bad experiences with it. I'll stick with mono never had a problem with it and it's a lot cheaper.
  6. I'd go with the Duckett Ghost rod. I have two of them, the 6'10 M and 7'3 H and love them. They are very light and sensitive. I can't figure out what people see in Abu Garcia rods there blanks have zero action, they all feel like a heavy action rod.
  7. I've been thinking of getting a carrot stick also. The people that have fished with the Carrot stick, how big is the handle on them?
  8. Ok guys I need some help. I've decided on these two rods but can't figure out which one I want to get. I want to use it for Texas rigs, the Carrot model I'm looking at is the 7'3 MH casting and the Gblanks is the 7ft MH casting. Does anyone have any advice on these two rods?
  9. Rod: 7'6 BPS Extreme flippin stick Reel: BPS Extreme reel 6:4.1 Lure: 3/8 Strike king Denny Brauer premier pro model jig with a 2in Joe S trailer black Line: 15lb Berkley Big game green
  10. I like bassin and bassmaster. I've been tempted to try FLW how is it ?
  11. I would have to say all of the above, I've learned a great deal from being out on the water, nothing can beat what you learn out there but the beauty of today technology is you can keep learning when your not on the water, the internet, other people, forums, books, magaiznes, tv show, and tivo.
  12. I also got this book for x-mas and it had some good stories in it, but I didn't care for it to much it seemed to me he didn't like ***s to much and didn't understand the sport. I also didn't like the history lesson on bass when Christopher Columbus started bass fishing.
  13. For the biggest bang for my buck it has to be Bass pro shops rods, the Extreme rod, Rick Clunn rod, Bonic Blade are all great rods and all of them are under $100 bucks. Even if you want to go to there higher end rods you are still under $200 bucks. So IMO the best rod manufacture is BPS but I also use Allstar and Daiwa L&t.
  14. 12lb or 14lb Berkley Big game. For crankin I like 10lb BPS excell.
  15. I fish my senkos 5in or 4in on a 7ft MH Carolina rig Allstar rod with a BPS Extreme reel 6:4.1. 12lb Berkley big game line.
  16. Last year I bought my first boat it is a 83 Astroglass with a 115 Mercury for $1000 bucks, except for a little soft spot in the middle of the floor I've had no problems with it(knock on wood). Now don't get me wrong she's not the queen of the ball no more but she's floats and gets me to the bass and thats all I wanted.
  17. My favorite jig is a 3/8 Denny Brauer premier pro model black/blue but a very close second is the 3/8 booyah jig black/blue.
  18. Since my dad works for Gore and I still can't afford it even with an employ discount I went to Walmart and bought the FLW jacket and bibs. I don't remember the exact price but for both of them it was under a $100
  19. Hi, my name is Jim and I'm a bassaholic. There I said it, now are you happy. :'(
  20. I have four of them and just picked up two more when they were on sale at BPS for $44.95. They are a great reels smooth, cast well and hold up real well. The 07 models have two more ball bearings in them so those should be even nicer. IMO they are the best reel under $100 bucks.
  21. I have a 7ft M crankin stick for deeper crankbaits and I like it. IMO you can't go wrong wtih it for under $50 bucks
