If you only could have one

Featured Replies

One rod:

For me, that would be a G.Loomis 7' Medium Heavy, Fast Action Spinning rod

One Reel:

Shimano Stradic 2500 spinning reel

One Line:

Seaguar 10-lb test Fluorocarbon

One Lure:

Strike King 3/16-oz Bitsy Bug jig in Black, with #1 Black Uncle Josh real pork Chunk

With that setup I could fish 24/7/365 and still catch fish

So what would be your "Only One" 24/7/365 setup?

I would take my

BCR854

15lb triple fish flourocarbon

shimano chronarch

my home grown jig/trailer

Rod: G.Loomis GLX MBR844C

Reel: Shimano CTE200GT

Line: Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft #12

But I would REALLY like to have a spinning rod, too:

Rod: G.Loomis SJR843S or St. Croix Legend Elite ES70MF

Reel: Shimano Stella 2500FB

Line: Ultra Soft #6

I could be perfectly content doing all of my fishing with just one spinning rod and one baitcasting rod.

Technique specific equipment is fun, but this basic package is all I really NEED.

but this basic package is all I really NEED.

Hehe...I lost the differentiation of needs versus wants long ago  ;D

Only 1 rig for eternity? My bait monkey would go INSANE!!!But if I had to choose, my Johnny Morris spinning combo, 7' MH rod, with a 3/16 oz spot remover jighead and a green pumpkin zoom finesse worm. When all else fails, this is my go-to.

  • 2 weeks later...

Falcon X-Pert 7' Med'hvy with a Shimano Chronarch 50mg spooled with P-Line 30lb Spectrex braid.  As for a lure it would have to be a zoom watermelon candy baby brush hog.

Rod:  7' BPS Extreme flippin stick

Reel:  BPS Extreme ETX05HB

Line:  Sufix Braid

Lure T-rig Zoom Green Pumpkin Brush Hog, 1/8 oz Tru-Tungsten, Gamakatsu EWG Worm Hook
