What is your opinion of the stock hooks on the oneten?

I'm thinking I might pick a few of these up if I can find a small sale on them. Never tried them, are the hooks good out of the package? If not anyone got a recommendation and size to go with?

Hmm, I am looking for a Shimano Curado DC for Black Friday and they have them on their website. Wonder if they will be included in items 25% off or not?

I've forgot, I think Black Friday is the big sale. Do they do something separate/new for Cyber Monday? Didn't they last year have some sort of daily special too for the month?

I have a friend that works in the fishing department at Bass Pro and he showed me the Black Friday sale flyer that hasn't gone out yet. Sadly the VAST amount of the sale was on hunting gear and hardly anything of note or big discount regarding fishing stuff.

I can certainly do without anyone making personal comments on this situation, my marriage or how they'd deal with this situation. For those who wish to worry about my personal life I've saved up enough money from side work to make sure my wife and 2 sons have a very Merry Christmas, thank you very much. As I'm sure most of yours don't my wife doesn't understand my fishing obsession and would never understand spending 200+ on a fishing reel. If I was just purchasing local this would be a simple deal and I'd go pay cash and she'd never know the details of the purchase. I was merely asking for ideas on how to accomplish the same thing through an online situation where I wouldn't have to pay through our bank account. Everyone's marriage/situation is different and I don't need anyone commenting on how they'd handle it.

I'm REALLY planning on loading up on gear once the Black Friday sales hit Tackle Warehouse. I have squirreled away some cash to pay for these purchases, the problem is my wife watches our bank account like a hawk and all my payment methods are linked to our bank account. When I pay she will see the money come out of the account and me merely pointing out I have the cash to go reimburse my account isn't going to save me a butt chewing. I don't want to do something shady like go open up a new bank account she doesn't know about or drag a friend into this by making him pay for it and I pay him back for it. Can I go somewhere and buy Visa gift cards or something then go use them on Tackle Warehouse and pay with them? If I hypothetically wanted $500 in gift cards do I only have to pay $500 for them or do they charge a percentage or whatever? Is there a better option here?

When you say "AFTER you check out" are you saying I will see the actual price I would be charged when it is in my cart BEFORE I technically make the payment OR are you saying even in my cart it will show me the normal price and will ONLY show me the discounted price AFTER I have paid? Not sure how I feel about having to actually pay for an item and "hoping" the price is discounted after I already "bought" it.

I have heard of some sights that an item does not show as for sale until it is in your cart. You are saying you do not see that is discounted until AFTER you make the purchase? That makes no sense because obviously before you make the purchase you see your total due for all the items. You agree to that price and make the purchase. You are saying after that you then get an email showing you actually they were "just kidding" and were giving it to you cheaper? That doesn't sound correct.

From you guys past experience were Shimano reels 20% off for Black Friday at Tackle Warehouse? I've got my eye on a Curado DC and for 20% I could justify buying it!

I now may be considering a Curado DC, provided TW has it 20% on Black Friday LOL

The lightest thing I'd probably throw on it would be a trick worm or something. I've just got a little change burning a hole in my wallet and looking for a higher end Shimano reel. I could do something a tad bigger than the SLX if I had too. Just looking for something butter smooth, plenty of power, casts a mile and will last a long time. Just looking for recommendations as I know there are a lot of Shimano fan boys on here.

Oh I certainly understand you can't comment on how good it works but the design, what is the difference technically between it and these other models. I assume it is superior components or design?

Now explain that model to me! I am trying to decide if for my "main" rod just to get another normal SLX or step it up to a different SLX or even jump into the higher end Shimanos which I am still trying to figure out all the different models of them LOL
