  1. Thanks! Appreciate the input
  2. Also bought both new for this upcoming season. Off the bat I much preferred the tatula sv for sure. The Curado was more finicky for sure. The tatula was just so user friendly. Once I started casting and retrieving the Curado k is so smooth it’s amazing. It’s hard to say distance as ones on a longer rod but it seems that the K will probably out cast the tatula. I’m happy with both, excited to really start fishing both, but when I was looking at stepping up to the zillion or Chronarch mgl for my other rod, I went Chronarch. The K just has a feel to it that’s nicer in my opinion to the tatula on the retreive and it sold me on the Chronarch vs zillion.
  3. Thank you. I’m very excited about this rod. My first higher end loomis rod and I love the feel. Weight and balance of the rod. which 845’s do you have? How do they work with smaller top waters?
  4. Well I ended up buying both the zillion 7’2” cranking rod and the imx pro 845c cbr. Both rods feel great, the zillion I bought first for a great deal and is the reason I couldn’t say no but the rod doesn’t feel like a crankbait rod at all, maybe a deeper diving but it’s way to fast I think. I couldn’t get the imx out of my mind so stopped and picked it up too with plans to try the zillion for something else or sell it to a buddy who’s looking for a new rod
  5. In that price point the dobyns fury 705cb seems to be the ticket winner for sure. The g.loomis e6x 845c cbr is suppose to be a great rod, little “whippy” if I understand what you mean. The parabolic bend on the e6x is greater then the 705cb, but good sensitive rod. The avid serious I believe also has one
  6. I have a tatula sv and a Shimano Curado K. Both reals are fantastic reels for the money. I find the tatula a little more beginner/user friendly. Easy to use, casts great, easish to learn to skip on and feels great. The Curado k surprised me. I got talked into buying it as I was going to get another Daiwa and didn’t like the feel of it as much when just casting in the back yard (as we had too much ice and snow to get to a pond/lake). But now that the ice has melted and weather has been a touch better I’ve casted the Curado a few times now and it casts a mile, buttery smooth, feels great in the palm, and sold me on getting the Chronarch mgl too now over the zillion. Either way both are increadible, and I’ll highly recommend them to anyone.
  7. Yeah apparently they are discontinued! It looks awesome, feels awesome, and really want to give this rod a shot but like I said it’s suppose to be there 7’2” crankbait rod regular(moderate action) but it feels like a fast action. It seems like it might be too quick for a crankbait rod. I’m looking for shallow diving, mid at best and square bill and lipless. I’m just worried it won’t be what I’m looking for. Thinking I’ll sell it and try something else. Why use it for swimbaits and not crank baits?
  8. How is the tatula crankin rod? I just bought the zillion this morning and it’s way faster then I would of expected. To be honest I’m not sure if it’s excatly what I’m looking for. I love the feel and look of the rod just seems super fast for a regular(moderate) action rod. Only reason I still took it was due to the fact it was too good of a price. Wondering if the tatula was the same
  9. Picked it up this morning and it’s an excellent looking rod, fantastic feeling rod but it feels way more like a fast then moderate fast or moderate. It hits the back bone of the rod real quick. He brought a heavy fast and 2 medium heavy fast and then the medium heavy regular which is there cranking rod and it feels the same as the other two, more like a fast. The price was way too good to pass up so I picked it up but I’m not sure if it’s what I’m looking for. I figured at least I could turn a profit and try something else as like I mentioned it was an awesome price.
  10. Going to take a look at it today. See how it feels, it’s just an awesome price for a high valued rod. Just wish I heard more about them
  11. I’m looking Daiwa zillion 7’2” medium-heavy crankbait rod used in excellent condition for a wicked price. Never heard anything about the zillion rods?
  12. Went to the local store today and they are sold out of almost all Dobyns Rods other then the champion 705cb glass which felt a little heavy and was hoping to get graphite so I don’t think I’ll go that route unless I can find it somewhere else. While I was there I looked at the e6x 845c cbr and a few other e6x’s that didn’t feel all that great but the 845cbr feels pretty good! on my way home from work Monday I’ll stop by the other store where apparently they have an imx pro 845c cbr in stock I’ll take a quick peak at. and meeting with someone tomorrow I believe to look at a used zillion crankbait rod
  13. I’ve never considered the Daiwa rods to be honest with you. Never fished one before and don’t hear to much about it. There is a guy local selling a 7’2” zillion crankbait rod in excellent shape. Maybe worth taking a look at then
  14. Oh well that’s unfortunate. I’d love to try a real loomis rod but no one seems to be happy with the e6x and not too many people speak about the imx pro in any style and I can’t afford a glx and definitely not the nrx. a custom rod never crossed my mind as I live in Canada and don’t know any custom rod builders. Never ventured that route. Hard enough finding good selections on rods like kistler and dobyns
  15. Thank you sir, like KP Duty mention was it the imx or the imx pro. It as the pro I was looking at. Either way I’m pretty sure I’m going with a Dobyns Rod as everywhere I try and read there isn’t much said about the imx pro’s and what little information I find there’s even less about there crankbait rods. Everyone speaks so highly of dobyns crankbait rods. Plus it’s 60 dollars cheaper for the champion then the imx pro, and 200 200 dollars cheaper for the fury
  16. Thank you. Going down today to see if they still have the dobyns in stock. I might have to order it. What’s the reason you don’t like the imx lineup?
  17. Think I’ve narrowed it down to a few different crankbait rods, that I might double down as my top water rod as well. looking at these 2 7’ crankbait Rods. I don’t do a ton of cranking but looking to get a dedicated rod as last year I lost a bunch. Will be throwing lipless rattle traps, shallow diving, generally 9’ and less, squarebill. And hoping to double down this rod for some top water minus frogs. What’s the opinion. Most likely be paired with a diawa tatula sv tw 6.3
  18. Thank you everyone, I’ll see if my buddy has anything and if not I’ll make the trip down to either look at a dobyns or pick up one. I know they have a fury 704cb in stock for sure, possibly a 705cb and they have the champion 705cb as well. Another store has an loomis imx pro cbr in stock so I’ll take a look at that
  19. Going to go down to the local store today and take a look around. Will have to make a bit of a hike to check out Dobyns Rods before I purchase something. I also have purchased a few rods used off a buddy who was a rep for muliple different company’s and sells off all his old rods when he switches. He has a gl2, and he’s looking for something else he could part with
  20. Thank you for you feedback. What is the reason you are un happy with it
  21. In your opinion what’s the reason the fury seems so much better then the e6x. Is your e6x a crankbait model for complete fair comparison
  22. Began picking up baitcasters over the winter for this up coming season. Now it’s time for more of a dedicated crankbait rod. I don’t do a lot of cranking, nothing real deep or too big. I’m up in the air between a few rods but currently until the end of the month my local store has loomis e6x 845c cbr and the 843c cbr on sale. Wondering what you might recommend or if I should grab the e6x. I’ve read a few times there’s better rods for the money but it’s a pretty sweet sale.
  23. Where abouts are you located? I’m local to Lake Ontario and have a buddy trying to get me to fish brown trout with him
  24. Thanks everyone, appreciate the advice. weathers starting to get warmer, not much longer before I can try this rod out
  25. Thank you sir, I figured might of needed a little heavier rod for Carolina rig
