  2. Same here. 3/8" clear tubing. Cheap on Amazon and works beautifully.
  3. Best show on TV right now IMHO.
  4. I use what's been working until it stops working. This year that's the rage tail menace.
  5. I cured the bait monkey with a healthy dose of Rage Tail Menace Grubs. I'm good now. The tackle monkey though is another story and is not so easily defeated.
  6. FishOn Tungsten. Their green pumpkin seems like a true green pumpkin color too. And they are a lot more affordable than most.
  7. In western PA I've never caught a smallie that didn't have red eyes.
  8. I never thought of adding a screen protector either. Good advice.
  9. I don't think it matters, they're all similar from what I hear (I have a Garmin UHD 73SV on my Bonafide SS127). As far as mounting, what kind of kayak are you using? I used the POD on the SS127 to mount mine.
  10. I use the river app for water levels. Google earth for everything else.
  11. I bought mine through an eBay store. The paperwork with the washers state Stradic FL. Tried to post a picture but the file is too big. I probably need to call Smoothdrag directly.
  12. I use braid with mono leader for everything. I only run two setups right now on the kayak a medium heavy bc and a medium spin. Both are braid to mono leader. Never had an FG knot fail and have no problem passing them through the guides on the exprides.
  13. Yep. My kit doesn’t fit either. Anyone know of another manufacturer that makes drag washers for the Stradic since the carbontex don’t fit?
  14. I've not noticed a difference in colors (that doesn't mean much tho) but I've also only gotten them to work on shallow rivers. They seem like the surest thing in shallow rivers and shallow river smallies IMHO are just nasty sobs. They could care less if it's pink or brown or whatever. They just attack. I use the Choppo though. Seems to work better for me. Size 90.
  15. Last year was terrible. And I noticed that I was scattered in my techniques. I was trying too much without mastering anything. Went back to the tried and true texas rigged menace and have had a pretty great year so far. Probably 90% of my fishing this year has been the Rage Tail Menace. The other 10% has pretty much been 3.8 Keitechs. Also texas-rigged.
  16. That's concerning. I have a carbontex kit on it's way to me via eBay.
  17. That sounds EXACTLY what I have going on.
  18. Thanks. I ordered some carbontex drag washers before I asked on here actually. This post was more me making sure I had the right thinking. The washers that are in the reel now (stock ones) don't appear to be dirty or over greased (I've never added grease).
  19. Been having issues with the drag on my Stradic FL. Noticed a while ago that my drag was slipping (not working really). I don't really know anything about internals or maintenance but I took the assembly apart and reassembled it and it started working again. Caught a few angry smallies last night that had a bit a fight in them and the drag seems to have given out again. Any ideas? Do I just need to upgrade the drag washers maybe or is something out of spec?
  20. Glad you like it. I've been eyeing one of those a topwater / jerkbait rod.
  21. Southwest PA here. Home lake is 68*.
  22. HookInMouth replied to B-Gee's topic in Fishing Tackle
Make/have someone make a kydex holster for it.
  23. Congrats. We have two SS127 and are extremely happy with them. Very well thought out, very stable. The seat is the best in the industry IMHO.
  24. The kayak format eliminates the need for a score. If you do best 5 etc. then bigger fish will count more. It's only if you want to count every fish that you would need to weight it with a scoring system.
