  1. My bad. It's a 100 HL. It basically looks like both of those put together.
  2. No idea tbh... Tatula 100 HS(L). Just saw one on the rack... it felt good... and I bought it.
  3. I actually picked up a tatula 100 today... on clearance. $79.99 for a lefty model, which I prefer. Due to weather I haven't even dry casted it yet, but man it seems extremely smooth.... I backlashed it while normally pulling out line to run through guides on my rod I paired it with. I don't see why it wouldn't work with finesse, but will update in a day or so when I actually get a chance to chuck it.
  4. I was told by an old timer once that its a sign of approaching pre-spawn.
  5. Yep. Snelling one does that if done properly, but I've never actually tested it with this sort of hook. Looks like it'd be good for microfishing though.
  6. Spinshot, spinshot, and spinshot. Did I mention spinshot? Made by VMC.
  7. They definitely are. They have extremely well tuned senses that are geared for predatory actions. I've caught them on crankbaits before, but this was the first jerk-style bait I've caught one on. It was a lot of fun actually.
  8. Chatterbait, buzz bait, blade baits... I haven't come across a species of fish yet that is even willing to take a swipe at them... never had a bite.
  9. First fish of 2019, caught on a Rapala Slashbait of all things.
  10. I've only caught like 2 bass on a texas rig... but I've gotten more bites on a baby brush hog than any other bait. It's a technique I need a lot of work on. I always throw it when I go bass fishing though, so one of these days I'll get better at it.
  11. Lol fair point. Actually, I 'm pretty sure I had this exact same issue way back when... and what solved it for me was clearing cache/cookies. Hate to see someone call it quits over a silly machine like a computer not behaving.
  12. Oh god... you're one of those of those people... *face palms* Keep jumping on those youtube band wagons...
  13. Cant tell you how much much money I've saved by the generosity of other fisherman who lose their lures in trees for me and retrieval pole to find! When the fishing isn't working out... I go lure fishing! And I rarely come up empty handed!
  14. Hm I guess Nitro decided to give up and not give a follow up...
  15. I'm so lucky when I fish, that on my very first topwater along-the-shore cast, I hit the biggest fish in the pond right on top of the head, and it splashes away terrified, tells all its buddies to stay away and I don't catch anything that day. ?
  16. I have several "tackle bags" but I almost never carry everything I have unless I am going on a fishing trip for a few days or, in areas I don't know what to expect. For waters I know, I have a few "speed boxes" set up with specific techniques. These boxes are typically the single sided plano clear plastic snap boxes you can find in most places that sell any sort of tackle. For example, I have a box just for topwater, with a few shallow lures like suspending/floating jerkbaits and inline spinners tossed in. Most mostly it's a box of poppers, ploppers, few frogs etc. Have another box for jigs, plastics, and other techniques for the bottom. Another box for midrange baits, like cranks, deeper suspending jerkbaits, etc. I have a little mixed box that has a bit of this and that that I frequently use, which also contains common hooks, sinkers, and tackles I may need. Then another master tackles box that's just full of all of my tackles that I can pick from to load in one of my other specialized boxes I plan to use that day. This seems to work best for me to not carry too much and still stay organized. Here's my topwater box
  17. The only reel I've upgraded the drag washers in, is a Penn 209 which I use for occasional salt water. Shimano actually makes a drag washer grease for these carbon fiber washers. I put a very thin coating on mine when I installed them, mostly to prevent brittleness, and I don't notice any detriment whatsoever. Seems like I read somewhere at one point that it was a good idea but I'm no expert at it.
  18. Ah yes, of course. That is a bit frustrating. I think there is a way to see what's being updated and stop it, if not, then you can definitely remove installed updates via pc settings. One thing that helps is to set the updates so that it won't download updates not for windows. Like mine only downloads relevant things related to security, drivers, etc. Doesn't run for everything like I've had to deselect on other versions. Just a lil different... my main gripe was the interface. ALl in all it isn't bad, just gotta get through the annoying hidden things lol.
  19. Try it with classic shell and set to win 7 style. You're welcome.
  20. Tbh, I'm not a believer in "confidence" catching fish. I could be confident that a booger on a hook will catch something, but doesn't mean it will. Every time I toss a lure I know it has the potential to catch a fish, it's just a matter of conditions. It doesn't matter how much confidence you have, if you don't present the bait properly for that day, or put it in a good spot, you're probably not going to get bit. So I don't see "I just couldn't get bit" as being a negativity, it's actually fairly accurate to the game. Those days can and will happen, confidence be damned. It certainly won't hurt you to be confident... but to imply an extra boost of confidence would have helped a skunk day isn't accurate imo. Besides, you should be out enjoying the water and serenity at any rate, catching something is secondary.
  21. Clear cache and cookies?
  22. I have a 6'10 medium/fast Tp1 soft plastics/topwater rod that I like for using with topwater. It might be a tad heavier than rated, and I would prefer more of a moderate action, but it does perfectly fine when using more of a side-sweep kind of set as opposed to an uplifting frog set.
  23. I recently picked up a St. Croix premier medium/moderate rod for crankbaits and similar. It was within your price range. It has a very nice bend to it, and I can't wait to chunk out some squarebills with it. But idk how it'd handle the larger 3xds, I don't throw round nose crankbaits like that too often, and when I do they are on the smaller scale.
  24. I like the american shad... it ticked off the biggest bluegill I've ever seen before getting attacked viciously and caught the bluegill! If it can do that... it will catch bass. It's a very unique color cause it changes depending on light angle. Really looks like a bait fishes' shimmering scales.
  25. Lol, hey don't take me wrong! It's great to hear about! Love hearing others are being successful catching the big ones, as well as having fun.
