Best new casting reel for the money
When I looked into pflueger casting reels I couldn't find any leftys under $100. That was just a couple months ago. I ended up getting a Tatula SV for $130 on eBay. I'm very happy with it. I would recommend keeping an eye on eBay for a few months. Prices on tatula ct leftys were $80 a while back and I imagine they should come back down during winter. Black Friday isn't too far off either.

Another plopper question
I agree with both the above posts. Just keep in mind that even though the whopper plopper is the new hot ticket and can be a very effective bait, it isn't a magic lure. If it isn't working it is possible it's not you but that the first just don't want it. There have been days I have been very successful with it and days it got no strikes at all.

Let someone buy a spot on your boat?
I doubt it's as literal as it sounds. My best friend and fishing buddy chips in allot for cost of the boat and fishing trips. I could hear myself saying something like " he's bought his place on the boat". Wouldn't mean much. I take who I want when I want even though he's almost always to of the list. Just a way of saying he's payed his way so to speak.

Fishing windy days
I fish out of a 15ft sea nymph. Very light and higher sides than a bass tracker. It's allot of work controlling the boat in wind. I think most of it is the side to side drift. My trolling motor can easily pull me into the wind but because the boat is so light it can change direction very easily. Constant steering of the trolling motor is needed to stay in control of the boat. I find it best to use the trolling motor to steer a controlled drift with the wind instead of fighting it. You can always anchor if you want to stay on a spot. Use an anchor in front and back if you want to keep the boat from turning swinging. If you have a tiller trolling motor just go home.

Box? Mine came in a tube with plenty of packing paper. Glad the rod is ok. What reel did you pair it with?

jon boat
It depends allot on how sure footed you are. Even my 16ft boat with 60" wide floor moves some. I have no problem walking, running, jumping, casting, etc on this boat but my dad and some larger fellas have trouble balancing and prefer to stay seated. I also fish from a 18' by 36" bottom. I can stand and fish by myself in that boat but if I have a passenger moving around it rocks enough to throw me of balance. I only use this boat on small rivers so wake and waves are not an issue.

How far will a senko sink?
I have fished senkos on weighted swimbait hooks with some success. I found that if I keep a semi taught line it stayed horizontal on the fall and still had good action.

Elite Tech Smallmouth
Just got back from fishing it. It is awesome for skipping. The reel is loose in the seat with it cranked all the way down. It's not bad just a little wiggle. Other than that I'm very happy.

Best 150$ reel
I just got my sv in the mail. I'm very impressed just from casting in the yard. Can't wait to try skipping some jigs.

Just got it in hand. No Mark on the cork. Feels great with the Tatula. Time to spool up.

What to adjust for backlashes
This is my first year with baitcasters but I find that if I'm backlashing early in the cart it's usually because my was to snappy in the wrist. This seems to be the case on both my bps pro qualifier and my Daiwa exceller. Iv pretty well got casting gear figured out but sometimes muscle memory takes over and I cast it like a spinning setup.

I guess they just mark the rods that have no warranty. I'm sitting on the porch patiently waiting for the FedEx truck.

Crankbait Rod under 90$?
I have a Fenwick Lunker Stik 7'3" mh moderate for my deeper cranks. It was $80 on Amazon. It's a composite/fiberglass rod. It's whippy at the tip but has good backbone. I can launch DT-10s and 15s pretty good with it. I have only had it for a couple months but I have yet to have a fish come unhooked on this rod. I also have a lightning rod shock M spinning rod that I use for lighter cranks, mostly small squarebills. It works well for me and they can be had very cheap from FFO tackle.

Mine should be here today so I will confirm. The ones on eBay are dealer demos. That's why they have the mark.

How do you keep your tackle organized?
Not sure if you are serious or if this is all tongue in cheek but that is pretty much exactly how my system works

I'm up in lake country northern Indiana. Easily 20 lakes within an hour's drive. All the tackle shops I have been to around here are terrible for rods and reels let alone repair or rod building. I see lots of Shakespeare and zebco. Bait selection is ok but the prices are not.

Elite Tech Smallmouth
In case I wasn't clear, these are the Gen 1 green elite tech smallmouth that FFO has for sale. Anywho, I had really been wanting an ETS in mf spinning but I just started using baitcasters this year so I'll give this one a go. I'm thinking with the short handle and matched with the Tatula SV this should be a skipping machine. Don't think I'll be using it much for jerkbaits since it is a MH. It's supposed to be here Tuesday. I can't wait.

FFO has 27 of the 6'9" left. Better get it while you can. Probably last chance at a new one. With the sale they're running mine came in at under $70. I couldn't not buy it.
