  1. Yeah it's been really cold here too, just got hit by a Nor'Easter and another on the way possibly :/ I still haven't chosen a reel for it, but I won't be getting the rod for a while anyway. I actually went to BPS yesterday and they had some Curado rods. I really liked the felling of the reel seat and the cork seemed pretty premium. It might end up coming down to the price to be honest, but maybe I'll find the deputy for cheaper. I might end up talking to Alex too. Thanks for the input
  2. Hahaha yeah it was lonely It will be my multipurpose rod for t-rigs and jigs to spinnerbaits and chatterbaits if I get it. I've also been looking at ALX ZOLO rods and all I've heard is good things, but they are more pricey so Im not sure about them. I was going to you braid to a fluoro leader probably. Thanks for the info!
  3. Awesome cause I'm planning on getting one for pretty much all of those things, aside from tubes probably. But I might get more into Tubes as I'm going to be fishing for Smallmouth a decent amount this year.
  4. Hello, I figured somebody would have posted on these but I couldn't find any post. So here I am. Has anybody had any experience with the Curado rods yet? I was looking to get the 7'2' MH Fast as a multi purpose rod for like spinnerbaits and t rigs. I wanted to know just information on if their power and action are actually correct and are softer or heavier than said. Thanks for any information given! Harrison
  5. Thanks for the input mike, yeah I'm going to pick up some Sniper and try it out. I fish on a budget and spending 20-25 bucks on line is a bit scary but hopefully its worth it. Thanks for the tip, planning on buying some. Yes, and it casts fine to be honest. Its just that it is crazy curly and curls back on itself sometimes.
  6. Okay. So I looked and my line is way thicker than the sniper. I'm going to have to invest in some sniper and see if I can feel the difference. And I was looking at the KVD conditioner earlier. I'll have to buy both and see what its like.
  7. Thanks for all the tips everybody, I'll have to look into some line conditioner. Didn't even know that was a thing matter of fact. And i am using a casting reel. I think its 14 or 15 lb test
  8. HI I am new to fishing fluorocarbon and just got my first spool of it. I've had heard that is expected to get backlashes with a brand new spool of fluorocarbon. But that isn't my problem. My fluoro is extremely curly, I have have used braid and mono and have never seen line this curly. I got tactical fluro by p-line which I have heard is decent for the price. So my question is: Is fluoro usually extremely curly brand new or did I maybe get a spool that has been sitting on the shelf for too long? Thanks, Harrison
  9. Yeah I already have a rod for whopper ploppers and heavy-ish stuff. Light swimbaits, frogging, etc. The medium since it runs a bit heavy should be perfect and exactly what I'm looking for. Plus $25 off is nice Can the medium throw liplesses well cause I know some people use a heavier rod for the.
  10. Okay, my dad just got a fenwick HMG and I love it too. Never heard of those^ rods, but I'll look for the hell of it. *edit* okay i just looked at the rod, I honestly do like it and if something goes wrong getting the rod I'm already getting the lunker stick will be my back up. The only thing holding it back is the color. I really don't like that rusty orange color.
  11. d**n thats heavy for a MH cranking stick isn't it? Thanks I'll go for the Medium! Little bit over my price range and I found a $100 cranking stick for $75 so I'm gonna with that. Especially since i know I like its older brother. Thanks Though
  12. Thats good to know! Thanks! So if I wanna use it for like a punch of different crankbaits and stuff like that the I should go Medium? Cause I mean stuff from smaller squarebills to liplesses and stuff like that. Cool!
  13. Great! Okay... are you sure it was the tour KVd rods cause i don't see them on sale on-line, but the normal KVD rods are on sale. I have seen nothing, but bad reviews on those.
  14. I think I'm going to get either the Dobyn's Colt or Fury or the St. Croix Bass X. They are a bit more expensive than what I wanted to spend (except for the colt but I'm not a fan of its looks), but they are nice rods. If anyone can suggest something better for the price or below the price, I will still be watching this topic so post it. ***edit*** I almost positive Im going to get the Okuma EVX cranking rod because it has the right specs and I found it for $75. I just got the Scott Martin rod and its AMAZING and this rod look like the same rod just a bit cheaper.
  15. There are no academys near me and they aren't on sale online :/ I'll look at that Ethos Yeah I'm noy planning on spending more than 100. I'll look at the Veritas I've seen the Attax That's a good deal, get them in store?
  16. Okay thanks... have you seen any closeouts on them lately? Also I miss read you earlier, I thought you said the normal KVD crankbait rod thats why I said I had seen terrible reviews. The Tour ones look great.
  17. I have looked at the KVD rods, but I saw really bad reviews on them. Say I got one and my rod breaks, do you know if their customer service is good? I also saw the David Fritts rods, those were one of my other choices. Never heard of them, but I will check them out.
  18. I'm looking for a budget crankbait rod to replace the rod I have been using becuase the guides just went and my line is seriously getting screwed up lol. I would like a rod that is MH with a Mod-Fast Tip. I don't have an expensive reel on there so I'm not gonna put it on like a $200 rod. My price would be like $100 or below or a like $120 rod that I can find on eBay or Amazon for cheaper. I did notice the Dobyn's Colt (they're new budget line) has a MH MF, but I wasn't sure about it. I would be willing to go up to like $110 GOOD rod. Thanks for the help! -Harrison
  19. How much does it weigh? It currently getting a rod for frogging and light swimbaits.
  20. GREAT!!!! Now I can finally stop looking at rods ? Had already picked out a reel.
  21. Hi! You seem to know what your talking about with these iRods so I have a question. Have you tried the iRod Fiber Rods? Are they any good for the price? I was looking for a shorter frog rod and I've seen 2 people say that the 7' Heavy is great for frogging... what do you think? Thanks in advance! -Harrison
