Spiralite Rods- anybody use em + thoughts?
Yes I completely agree. The only 200+ rod I’m really interested in is the ALX Zolo line and those are only $210-$230. Was going to get one for this set up but I think it will be next time around.

Spiralite Rods- anybody use em + thoughts?
Haha same, I’m still not certain on that rod. Might get something else, not sure. The 13 Muse Black and Ark Invoker are in the mix. The Lew’s Custom Lite is also a new one I’m looking at, I found it for $130 and it has Winn grips and I’ve heard it’s really sensitive. I was looking at more expensive rods but I’ve decided that I don’t need anything more than $200, even $150 to be honest.

I honestly don’t care about the spiral wrap part of the rod, I just like the components of the rod. That ALPS reel seat is probably my favorite reel seat and I love WINN grips

Do 13 fishing rods run heavy? (Envy Black)
Well i just realized that I’ve been saying Envy Black when I really meant M-U-S-E. Oops.... hopefully they are relatively similar even tho the Envy is $100+ more. Thanks for you input! had to put dashes in that because otherwise it becomes 3 stars. Annoying lol

Do 13 fishing rods run heavy? (Envy Black)
Good to know... what are your thoughts on it’s sensativity? Okay thank you As long as it’s not like a full power rating light I don’t mind, if it’s just on the lighter side of a MH and like a M then I’m not worried. Thank you everyone for the repsonses!

No problem, I wasn’t getting an responses anyway lol. I wasn’t expecting to since not many people have these rods, but to be honest your debate over fulcrums was interesting ? tight lines

Do 13 fishing rods run heavy? (Envy Black)
Does anybody who has experience with 13 fishing think that the power ratings are accurate or underrated/overrated? Looking at the Envy Black rods and I see nothing but good reviews on TW. Thanks Harrison

Spiralite Rods- anybody use em + thoughts?
Yeah I actually asked you a question about it on another thread. Was hoping if I created a new thread, it would get some new attention/more replies. Your about the only person who has anything to say about the rods.

Spiralite Rods- anybody use em + thoughts?
Just wondering if anybody has tried Spiralite, particularly the Defiant series. A few reviews on TW say they are slightly tip heavy, but I am going to put a relatively heavy reel on it if I get one so I'm not worried about that. Really like all the compnents they have (Winn grips, Alps reel seat, not sure about guides), but I don't know much about their performance. Mainly wondering about sensitivity + weight. Looking at the 6'9" MH/F model... Thanks for any help!

Fenwick Aetos 6'9 M vs 6'8 MH
Okay cool thank you! I'll see if I can find them anywhere near me as bass pro only has them online.

Fenwick Aetos 6'9 M vs 6'8 MH
Hi... looking the Fenwick Aetos for skipping around light cover/docks with 1/4-3/8 oz jigs and 3/16 oz t rigs and probably pulling double duty with spinner baits sometimes. And as a smaller rod for my kayak fishing. I've heard that the Aetos run heavy, but there wasn't a ton of confirmation of that so I wanted to get some opinions. Is the M going to be enough for this or is there no harm in going to the MH? Mainly worried the MH will be too over powered for spinnerbaits and 3/16 oz t rigs. What are your thoughts on this?

Any thoughts on Spiralite rods?
Which series did you get and have you had a chance to use it yet? Looking at the Defiant series 6’9” MH/F for jigs and t rigs and skipping.

Shimano zodias
Sounds like the 6’10 MH might be better for me, since I want to be able to use a 3/8 oz jig as well. Also want to be able to skip and use in my yak so shorter is probably better. Thanks!

Shimano zodias
I know this is about 2 years later from when you posted this, but it’s worth a shot..... what do you think of the 6’10 MH with t rigs? Lighter t rigs, 1/8 oz/3/16 oz + plus the worm. Looking at the 7’2 M and the rod you got for a light jig/t rig rod, 1/4 oz or 3/8 oz jigs. Thanks!

I'm debating that as well lol

new 2019 Shimano SLX MGL!? Thoughts??
Well this isn't coming out for another 4 months anyway, but yeah it looks amazing! I'm sure the normal version is good enough if you aren't using finesse baits. I'm tempted to wait for this reel, but I can't. Need this new set up before the season starts

new 2019 Shimano SLX MGL!? Thoughts??
SO I was scrolling through YouTube and I found a video by THE REEL TEST. He had a video about the release of a JDM Shimano SLX with an MGL spool! The US version of the SLX withough the MGL spool has some pretty great reviews and a lot of people believe it will knock the Speed Spool and Fuego from their spot on top of the $99 reel price point. I think an SLX with an MGL spool would be an extremely nice reel and it will probably be around $150 USDM. It's supposed to be replacing the Casitas MGL I believe and that had a graphite frame, the SLX has an aluminum frame so it will probably be a stronger reel without raising the price I would think. It also has SVS Infinity brakes with the external brake design of the Bantam MGL, looks pretty badass. Here is a picture of it from the Shimano Japan Website and a picture of the external brakes that was used a thumbnail for his second video on the reel: I personally love the features this reel will have and I think it looks way better as well. On Shimano Japan it says they are expecting a May 2019 release. What are everybody's thoughts on this new reel???

New tatula rods and reels
I would use straight fluoro, I just hate using it to be honest. Every fluoro I have used has been super hard to control and just really curly and a pain. What is your favorite fluoro to use? And do you use line conditioner?

New tatula rods and reels
Any chance you'd remember where ya bought em? I'm about to change the topic completely, but since you've used so many of these reels I think you might know.... do leaders pass through the T-Wing system okay? I don't think that I would ever even need a leader that is long enough to go onto the reel where I live, but just in case I'd like to know. Harrison

Kistler He3 or ALX Zolo?
Thank you for that detailed response Tom! Always appreciate your advice, your all over the forums and always answer questions well.

Kistler He3 or ALX Zolo?
Yeah but it’s way too expensive for me.... I talked to ALX about getting a custom Deputy a while back and it was only going to be about $30 more for what I wanted. Making it around $250. The He3 would be well over $300 Awesome! Looking forward to using mine.... when you say light jigs, 3/8 oz fall into that catergory correct? And 3/16 oz t rigs would fall into light t rigs?
