Abu Revo Premier - Performance and Size?
Hi Came across this reel on sale for $100+ off (I think it's been discontinued?) and I'm in the market, I've read almost all good reviews but always like to hear BR members' opinions. Good reel for jig and/or all around set up? Also curious about the size. It's a fairly light reel, but I have small hands and have found that the Lew's LFS and SLP frames are most comfortable for me. I have been looking at the Tournament Pro LFS, but saw the Revo so figured I'd ask. If anybody could drop their 2 cents that would be great. Thanks!

Favorite Jig For Fishing Around Grass
I'll have to try sticking to a texas rig too, I've got plenty of tackle for them lying around since I don't throw them much. If you don't mind me asking, what's your go to texas rig bait? Most the ponds I fish have blue gill as the main forage and murky water. I'm guessing most people would recommend sticking to the basics for colors, black/whatever for murky and green pumpkin or watermelon for clear?

Favorite Jig For Fishing Around Grass
Thanks for the replies guys, I'll be sure to check out all of the jigs. I've heard arkie head is the way to go, this post seems to confirm that. Definitely like the idea of the recessed line tie, thank you

Favorite Jig For Fishing Around Grass
I've been trying to get into jigs these last 2 seasons and I'm yet to get settled on my favorite brand or anything, mainly because I struggle to fish a jig in a lot of the small ponds I'm fishing because the bottoms are straight thick grass. The closest thing I have to a favorite is Dirty Jigs, but I haven't tried many other to be honest. I'm looking at flipping jigs since they're supposed to be the best at coming through grass, but all of Dirty Jigs flippin options seem to have really heavy wire hooks. Hoping for something a bit lighter, as I'm fishing more open water thick grass on the bottom rather than flipping into the really heavy cover. Hopefully some of you guys understand where I'm coming from, I appreciate any recommendations. I know I specified flipping jigs, but whatever you favorite grass jig is more than fine.

Best All Around Polarized Lens Color
I appreciate all the replies guys, wasn't expecting so many that quick lol I think I'll look around for a pair of green mirror costas as close as I can get to my budget. If I can't find anything close enough I'll probably go for an amber or copper. Maybe 2 cheaper pairs to try grey as well. Tight lines

Best All Around Polarized Lens Color
Looking to get a pair of polarized shades before spring rolls around here in MA. I have no idea what color lenses to go with though? I'm not someone who is going to buy multiple pairs to have 1 for each situation, so my question is what is the best all around lens? The two that seem to be mentioned the most are grey and amber, but I've read green as well. I'm just really not sure what to go with. This is something I've looked up several times now, but could never really get a specific answer. So I decided to ask you guys. If you have recommendations for glasses under $80, I would appreciate that as well. Let me know if there's any information about my fishing that would help. Thanks!

Value of Kistler Rods with Black Friday Sale
I don't understand why they'd switch off of what a lot of people consider the best blanks available, but the new ones better be d**n good for the new price of $400. I would think they're going to continue to lose customers if they keep bumping every price by $50 every year.

7'2 MH Expride too heavy for 1/4 oz jigs?
Typically it shows up in your receipt only

7'2 MH Expride too heavy for 1/4 oz jigs?
Glad to hear you were able to help fix his issue! I wasn't too worried about casting difference, but more so of working the jig. Like if I popped it, would the rod be too stiff and feel like I couldn't work the jig well. Like I wouldn't feel any resistance, I would just be ripping it. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but I'm guessing since you're experienced you'll understand what I'm saying lol. I appreciate your take though, that's definitely super important to keep in mind. Just an update on this thread: I missed out on the expride because the TW sale started early this year it seems. Someone on instagram told me 11:30 pm (not sure if they were ET or PT) last night I believe. So when I woke up this morning the 7'2 Expride was already sold out. There's always next year lol.

7'2 MH Expride too heavy for 1/4 oz jigs?
Looking at possibly picking up my first Expride tomorrow on Black Friday. Something for 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz jigs, maybe 1/2 every once in a while, but I'm not worried about that. I was looking at the 7'2 MH because I feel like for most companies that would be the right pick, but the Expride's lure rating is 3/8-1 oz. Where as I feel like most MHs are 1/4-3/4 or 1. Would the Expride be too overpowered for 1/4 oz jigs? I fish around a lot of grass so I feel any extra power wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I don't have any experience with Megabass, but was eyeing a Brailist in the Orochi. Now that the Levantes are back I'd prefer to get one at the lower price point. Is the Brailist be able to throw 1/4 oz jigs or should it stick to 3/8+?- Value of Kistler Rods with Black Friday Sale
Definitely will not be paying full price, maybe the KLX at $210. Thanks for your thoughts- Value of Kistler Rods with Black Friday Sale
I am a big fan of my Magnesium, but I do not think it is worth the new $250 price tag. I don't have really any experience with $200+ rods, but just based off of what I read it doesn't seem worth that. I don't think the components were upgraded or anything so I can't understand the price jump. Thanks for the input, appreciate it. Yeah Trey definitely seems like a good guy, I talked to him when I was buying my magnesium. (I got a full cork handle on mine for like $20). That's one reason why I'd like to buy another rod from him. Just don't know if I can justify spending the money. People definitely seem to praise the H3 for it's sensitivity, if I was going to buy one of their rods on this sale it would probably be that. Anybody know how to not have all your responses merged together? Or is that just how it is now?- Value of Kistler Rods with Black Friday Sale
I wanted to get a helium a couple years ago I just don't have the money to drop $300+ on a rod, usually stay at a max of 200. Using jigs is not my favorite technique, but I need to get into it more because I know how good of a bait it can be and I feel like a better rod for the job would be beneficial. I use my frog rod currently, which while it does catch em, I lose a lot of fish/bites for sure. Too much of a meat stick I think. Can I ask why you sold them? I haven't seen a lot of people say they aren't a fan. I don't think I will ever hit that 50% discount, but it's nice to dream about lol- Value of Kistler Rods with Black Friday Sale
So Kistler just announced its Black Friday sale and I'm wondering what people think the rods are worth on sale. I know that some people swear by them, I have a Magnesium that I love (from before they were $250), but I haven't been able to venture to their more expensive rods. The KLX is available for $210 and the Helium is $245. The question I'm trying to get to is are either of these worth these prices or are there other rods that retail for less and will be cheaper during black friday/cyber monday that would be better for the money? I should mention I'm looking for a MH or maybe a little underpowered H rod for bottom contact (jigs, t rigs) in the 7'1-7'5 range. Since I'm looking for really good sensitivity I am open to spending a little more than usual. Thanks Harrison- Daiwa Fuego SV
That's awesome man, love my CT. Make sure to let us know what you think of it. Might have to get my hands on one... where did you order from? I haven't bought JDM before, I only know of JapanTackle. - Megabass Levante
