- Your Dog Knows
i have had dogs since i was a teenager. i think they train us as much as we train them. i've only had one dog that was not trainable, but he had something wrong with him, i think he was mentally slow. this one's name was poopily-doo. she was my sweetheart. the most grateful dog who ever lived. once when i was sick, she laid with me for 14 hours, and skipped food, and bathroom breaks. i miss her so much, i can't even tell you- Mystery canine illness
i disagree. i get all my answers from facebook, and i think it's important to panic on a regular basis. 😆 disclaimer: i don't actually have facebook, and i'm not fast enough to panic anymore.- Buc ees
i can tell you first hand that isn't true, when talking about the wawa in elsmere delaware, or the one on wilson road in wilmington. you can go into either, at 3 am on a wed nite, and it's 8 deep at the counter with one guy doing the register. the hot chocolate machine is always empty, there aren't any hot dogs if you don't get one between 11 am and 12:30 pm, they don't serve the bacon cheezdog at those locations, and they're always and forever out of yoohoo unless you get there 10 minutes after they stock 5 of them in the fridge per month. i freekin HATE going into wawa since the decline of 7-11. they really went down hill in a big way, unless you go to one that has gas pumps- Work issue--don't really know how to proceed....
i don't know how you kept yourself from...tcb, but i hope your daughter was able to somehow get through it, and eventually be ok- Work issue--don't really know how to proceed....
i will tell you a story. my first job was in a store that was family owned. i was there for about a year when the boss tells us his son (that no one ever mentioned before that day) will begin working there the following week. one of the other employees tells me that the guy was in a mental hospital. his father put him there for 5 years, so he could avoid going to jail for raping his 12 yr old niece. when he came to the store he was 22, so i guess when he did it, he was 16 or 17. well, he was there about a year or so, he was dating a girl from another state - who was 16. an israeli girl who worked summers in the store roughed him up for touching her in the warehouse, i actually saw that whole scene, it was hilarious. apparently, she was really good at martial arts. about 5 years later, i was married and had a child with a girl who worked for a company that cleaned houses. he happened to be one of their clients. she had been there, but always with another employee. the one time she was sent alone, he was there, he tried something on her. her boss didn't want to do anything about it. she came home, naturally, very upset. so i went to his house, picked the lock on the front door while he was in the shower. i stabbed him in the stomach with a boot knife he had on the coffee table. after that, i left outta there. the cops picked me up later that night. i told them i did it, i told them why. then i told them what i knew about him. the cop who interviewed me left to go check out my story. when he came back, he told me that he would talk to the guy, and see if he wanted to drop the charges against me, in exchange, i would not mess with him again, and my wife wouldn't press charges for attempted rape. he agreed, and the cops drove me home. he was still on probation, and the threat was, if he was found to have violated his probation with a sex crime, he would do the time he avoided before, plus whatever they gave him for the latest. that was all the way back in 1987. during the pandemic, i was shopping at a home improvement store. as i walked down the aisle, there he was, stocking the shelves. we recognized each other immediately. i didn't engage him, i just did my shopping, and left. sex offenders...apparently they do re offend, cause he did, and almost right away, too, as i related above. but it ain't my job to warn his employers who and what he is. he ain't bothered me, so i haven't bothered him.- Favorite Halloween movie
i know it well, i used to have it on dvd. if you liked that one, you may like a japanese flick called "gozu" you should like "rampant" if you like zombie films. you can watch it for free https://www.viki.com/videos/1165349v side note, i used to have an old caddy hearse, my co workers and friends took to calling me zombo for a while. hahahaha of all the cool cars i've owned, i miss that one the most, and also the least at the same time- Favorite Halloween movie
you guys, (if you can handle subtitles) need to know that no one does horror as good as japan and korea. if you're interested, here are some titles to check out: be advised that hollywood remade many of these, and ruined them, so don't compare them if you saw the western versions of some of these from japan - audition: if this movie doesn't scare you, there's something wrong with you. DO see it. remember that i warned you of the noise "ki-diki-diki-diki-diki-deeeeeee..." it's going to become the new scariest noise you ever heard a woman make, for the rest of your life. battle royale: only japan could think of something like this. suicide club: if you like gore films, the opening scene will be the new pinnacle for you. you won't forget it. from korea - old boy: this movie is freaky, you're not going to guess the end. a tale of two sisters: my personal all-time favorite. this movie would make hitchcock lose his composure. i had to watch it 3 times before i understood everything i saw. the quiet family: not really scary, but holy smokes i thought it was hilarious. not just the premise, but some of the stuff that happens is comedy gold. the mimic - based on a korean folk tale. this movie is really good. train to busan - classic zombie film, but on a train. rampant - also a zombie flick , but set in 1600's josean (what korea was before it was korea)- Favorite Halloween movie
from beyond, because barbra crampton in lingerie:- This hit me hard today
i hope with all my heart that karma comes back on that no good s.o.b.- This hit me hard today
i'm glad there are people like you in this world. last spring, my dogs got out of the yard (again) but this time, were out of earshot before i knew it. one of them was returned by animal control in a couple hours. the other wandered a few blocks up the road, tried to cross the hiway, and was hit by a car. she ran off, and miraculously, was somehow unhurt. she ended up wandering onto a construction site nearby, and couldn't figure out how to get back out of there. someone called animal control, i got her back safe the next day. sure am glad they are chipped. anyhow, im glad you were trying to do something- If You Could Be Any Animal

that's my cousin. ohhh, the stories i could tell you about him. as a kid, adults feared him. if i introduced you to him today, you'd never know he was the wildest, most feral kid ever born.- If You Could Be Any Animal
part of me wants to say tiger, because they're badass, and no natural predators, and they can go anywhere. but i also love sparrows- Where’d the Bass go?
they all went to betson's- How would you rate yourself ????
i'm gonna rate myself as a 4. there are lots of times when i go fishin, that i don't care if i catch a fish or not. sometimes i throw a lure because i want to reel it in, not so much because i think that's what they're hittin on. i used to be real serious. there was a time when i would have had confidence to fish alongside anybody in less that 12 feet of water. (we don't really have much deep water here) i fish cause i like fishin, but i'm not always trying to catch fish.- it's only just begun
hahaha yes!!! me too!!! i made it at the boys club when i was 12. i tried to give it to my dad, but he didn't want it. i traded it for a strip of ride tix at the parish carnival. the lady was very kind, it was an ugly birdhouse. ?- it's only just begun
a couple years ago, i bought a miliken 5 piece travel rod, a curado dc, and a back pack tacklebox so i can take the bike fishin instead of the car. it was money well spent. best part is, if someone wants to come with me i can say "oh, i'm on the bike today, sorry. " ? the travel rod is actually a pretty good rod. i didn't expect it to be as nice as it is.- it's only just begun
when i came back to the states, i needed to build my american credit back up so i could buy a house. one of the ways i did it was taking out a loan for a motorcycle. i needed a payment history. i found the bike i always wanted, but i didn't like the interest the credit union wanted because the bike was used. i ended up buying a bike that was "good enough" because it was inexpensive, and the interest on it was acceptable. it is a kawasaki 900 vulcan custom. i put bags and a windsheild on it, and rode around like that for a few years. it looked like this: fast forward to last june... i went back to work after a long layoff. i got to thinking one day. i always wanted a chopper, but custom bikes are really expensive. i thought well, if not now, when? i still don't have fat money, so i am going to build mine out into a full on custom, a little at a time. i began the biggest part of my project last month, the long front end. i could only work on it one saturday/week, and that meant that when i hit a snag like needing a part, it delayed things while i waited for what i ordered. i finally finished the front end , and it looks pretty good. i went with 18° of rake and 12" over stock fork length. i'm sooo happy with the way it turned out. i bought the kit from these folks: http://www.chopperkitusa.com/index.htm i can't say enough good things about them. their customer service is over-the-top amazing. the quality is AAA. fit and finish is top shelf. i'm no ace mechanic, but i can turn a wrench. this is how it turned out: i have alot more planned, i will make some of the parts myself. eventually, it will get painted. the bags will be gone eventually too. because of the way it's raked, the handling is much better than you might expect. there are some compromises of course, but that's how it goes when you modify stuff this way. i just wanted to share, because i feel like i accomplished something. are any of you doing/have done something like this? customized your bike somehow? or even your car or truck? i would like to see pics, and hear about it if you feel like telling the details.- Had a scare.
i'm glad it was caught in time, and she's gonna be ok. it's definitely scary. also, sooo hard to watch people we love in a bad way and there's little we personally can do. like any of us are with our loved ones, i know you'd trade places with her if you could. i highlighted part of your post to point out that medical mistakes and malpractice kill more people than guns do, by a HUGE margin. it's why getting a second opinion is so important.- Being on time
i can't agree strongly enough that the 3 things you are never late for is church, work, and fishing. when i was young, i was late all the time. it was the wives, 99% of the time. one of them would insist on having the car most days, we only had one. getting her and the baby out of the house every day by 5 am was just impossible for me to accomplish. the other one, she made me late every day because... well, it wasn't for the car, that's all i can say. ? at some point i decided enough was enough. being late always drove me nuts, and for decades now, i refuse to let anything get in the way. if i'm late, there was a legit problem- Cleanliness
i used to keep my car clean, until i got the first dent. i haven't washed it since. i occasionally go through it and take out all the extra jackets, shirts, empty bags from plastic worms, and fishing line from my pockets that i refuse to leave at the fishin hole. the things i keep spotless clean all the time are guns, knives, guitars/amps/cables, my tackle boxes, rods/reels, and my tool boxes, my bike and my riding gear - boots, helmets, jacket, gloves, etc. when i had a garage, i kept it spotless all the time, no matter what. - Your Dog Knows
