  1. The water was 47* yesterday and was 39* last week so maybe it'll be in the mid 50's soon. The only things they hit are crawdad looking baits and live minnows. Here's the magic jig. (Couldnt find the same trailer color) Dont worry I had to keep her around for a few minutes the I released it.
  2. Caught this 18 inch and a 13 inch in the same spot with my favorite watermelon-pumpkin jig and a fast falling trailer. Hooked one at the end of the day that felt big but it just ripped the craw up.

I've played with some Swarming Hornets jigheads with a Super fluke jr. It has produced fish for me, but I haven't really done it enough to get good at it. But it almost won the classic a few years ago. Ive used them like that a lot and caught quite a few bass.
  4. I like anything diawa. Ive got some kind of custom thing ive had for about five years. It was $250. The procasters are very nice as well.
  5. Cool thanks.
  6. Im in about the same situation
  7. I don't know if someone has already came up with this techniqe so I'll give the whole scenario. I went fishing on a lake that had been closed for 3 or 4 years but there had been illegal fishing, a new, higher dam built, and a severe water shortage during that time. I fished senkos, finnesse worms, topwaters, and a lot more stuff I didn't even know I owned but the bass would barely take the bait and not get hooked. I decided to try something different. I put a 3/16 split shot about 18 inches above a 2/0 black wide gap hook with a baby bass superfluke jr. I hopped it fast enough to where the fluke came up to the surface then I would let it set. I caught some piggys after that then used lighter shot and caught more. Not had a chance to try it again but that will be my go to rig.
  8. I only use red hooks if im fishing a plastic with red flakes in it. On cranks I might wind up with one if Im replacing rusty hooks but I dont make a point to use them.
  9. Kinami Baits. You can find them at wallmart and they are on clearance.
  10. All I own is diawa and Ive never had any problems.

  12. Sweet. I didnt see the combo price until 2 hours ago then I read the post. Thanks
  13. Im saving up to buy 2 new reels. Ive picked out a BPS ltd round b.c. on a crankin' stick, and a BPS extreme on a Flipping model of a lightning stick. I read about BPS not being to good but I fish every other weekend at best except in the summer so they wont be used a whole lot. Just wondering if these are a good choice and if not what would be in the same price range. Thanks
  14. I think Ive got the same reel on an Ugly Stick. I use it for crappie/bluegill and have hooked quite a few bass in the process. Just let the fish tell you what to do. I had one incident where a 'gill hung up my favorite panther martin in a log :'(, but other than that i like it.
  15. My pick would be a 3/8 ounce bitsy jig in watermelon pumpkin making short casts to structure that doesnt break the surface in 8 feet of water. Let it fall on a completely slack line and pay attention to water depth to give you an idea of how long it sinks. When it his the bottom give it irregular transitions between twitching and swimming.
  16. MY mom bought a used pontoon and it has a portable Fishin buddy sidefinder and thats all it says on it. Its pretty old but i think it works. I was just wondering if these were any good or bad. Thanks
  17. I love mine, great casting and the twitching bar is great for any slow presentation.
  18. I got my first baitcaster in october and have just now got the hang of it, just keep practicing.
  19. Wow, thanks. I'll let ya know how I do next time im up there.
  20. Any VA Tech fans?????
  21. Contest? Sounds coll. Im going to lake seminole this spring, last time i hooked one around 15lbs but the line dug in and it wouldn't let the drag slip so it broke off. :'(
  22. Im cursed by turtles, Ive caught about 6 alltogether on bass jigs, crappie grubs, lisards, and I landed one about 3 feet wide with 4lb test bream fishing with worm chunks.
