  1. I fish mainly in the mid-depth range so I can catch a bigger average size fish with decent numbers. I use both slow and fast techniques in the same spot with good results. A torpedo-shadrap-jig approach is my favorite but I dont limit myself to those 3 only.
  2. I dont know about the spot question but Ive read that when bass live in shallower water and in vegetation then they get darker and when they live in deeper and in brush they are lighter.I gues its in between if they live in deep weeds or shallow timber.

This isnt a huge change but I like to take a snap and increase the space between the hook and body with a rocket shad and sometimes I will take renegade rattle/bands and put them on spinners to make the more bouyant.
  4. I went to my favorite local lake and caught 3 dinks and my new PB! Ive been after this fish for a while and hooked it once a month ago and it broke my Boogie Bait :'(. Today I caught her on a Pure Poison. She was 2 feet even and weighed 7.2lbs but looked bigger. Heres a decent pic:

I just bought the 6 inch King Kong by Strike King and was wondering if it was a good pick. Thanks!
  6. I like any Diawa thats 7 feet.
  7. Sweet, I have to wait a year and a half. Ive fished Cherokee 2 times when I was 4 off of a random dock for bluegill.
  8. How many people are in Wise Co. Bassmasters, and is there an age limit?
  9. Either one works in its own place, but my confidence is with a jig. I ALWAYS have one tied on but if I get a bite Ill break out the t-rig
  10. Ive fished them like that with great success. Theyre a great swim jig trailer too.
  11. I thought I saw some at Wall-Mart, I dont care much for rattles so I didnt read the bag very well though.

    Very interesting lol
  13. State record....I wish :'( Shed have to gain another 8 or 9 pounds
  14. I like to fish strikeking jigs. I can catch any sized fish including the biggy thats posted in the latest trip section
  15. Ive got 3 baits that work in all of the local lakes: 3/8or 1/4 oz watermelon/pumkin/orange jigs, big jointed shad raps, and Heddon tiny torpedos. They cover everything and catch big fish. Have you been to Big Cherry?
  16. I went to my favorite lake today after it had been closed because the road slid out and made up lost time. Between me and my grandpa we caught 7 bass and 11 bluegill. Those aren't huge numbers but my grandpa caught an 18 inch bass and I caught a 22 inch, my new PB north of Georgia. Two bluegill were over 9 inches. For us it was a great day on our humble reservoir in southwest virginia...lol ;D Heres a pic of the 22 inch. Ive not got a clue about the weight.
  17. I read somewhere that when bass get spooked, they release a chemical thing that warns other bass that a predator might be around. After a few fish your trailer could have absorbed enough of it to turn them off.

I caught my Virginia PB fishing out of a tree lol.
  19. Ive drop shotted the tails of Gulp crawlers and caught some nice trout and bluegill. Bass, not so good. Ive fished several styles rigged about every way and have caught 2 bass. That was on a day that I caught about 20 keepers so it got schooled 1:9 or something.
  20. I usually only fish at my grampa's even though I live just a few miles from the south holston and have a pontoon on it. My mom works all the time so she doesn't have much time. If a property isn't posted can I legally get on it? I found a great pond 50 yards from my new house but it is on some guys farm. My neighboor snowboarded there and didn't get in trouble o the guy may not care.
  21. I use jigs. They can cover the entire water column without havin to chang anything but the trailer. When you do find the fish, I use the jig slower. Inline spinners are a good alternative to find schools.
  22. Wow, that spot looks sweet and nice fish. Have you fished the powell? I've seen some big smallies and caught a big redeye
