  1. So sorry for your loss Tom, he may be gone but he'll forever be with you.
  2. DAMNNNNNN those look awesome. Ghost Minoow anything. I saw the launch video and had them in my cart but $15.99 than conversion made me back out quick. You'll need to post up a review for us.
  3. We need an AA thread, just to keep us off forbidden websites. Thing is, I'll just end up at Cabela's again looking to fill a nook in my tackle bag. "$7 tungsten worm weights... that's a deal and they won't last when I need them mid-summer"
  4. This is #1 reason why I'll only be buying Fuegos going forward. Great reel at a great price.
  5. I love my Fuego, nice matte black finish way more subtle and connection-knot friendly than my tatula CT.
  6. Correction: I have the mitt version and they are definitely not winter gloves. More like a windproof option.
  7. I own these and they're awesome, make sure you go into the store to try them on though. I would have thought XL, but I dropped a size for the super snug fit. Which turned out great for being able to thumb a BC and retying knots.
  8. I'm gonna take a look at those next time I'm at a BPS. Thanks!
  9. How smooth are those zippers? $30 is pretty good, considering I down need those boxes.
  10. I was thinking of picking up the owner jigarig which I think is exactly like your diy model. I've got some Tokyo rigs that are similar that I need to spend some more time with on the water.
  11. BR darling egg beater and my favorite finesse line arrived today. I think the rod and reel really complement each other. I gotta admit getting that shim under the bearing was a pain, all worth it tho. This reel is pretty smooth for $100. It's a big bag, we got my then 4yr old in it with all the boxes out. Cabela's makes some nice bags and I haven't found one to suit my set up. The Magnum is just a bit too big.
  12. My father in law has that bag, we call it the Coffin.
  13. This one - I've got a flambeau 3700 laying flat full of trailers and worms. Then I've got a 3700D, 3701, and 2 reg 3700. The sides and front pockets are filled with clamshell baits. Big swimbaits in the front sleeve and all my 2.8-3.8s in the top flap. Oh, then I've got a Plano 3600 weekender just jammed packed with zman baits, ganged with split rings based on the bait and a smaller hardbox with ned and shakeyheads. I'm eyeing the Plano 2.0 Duffle bag, it got a ton of space and I could centralize everything. The Okeechobee Fats Large bag is cheaper, probably not as nice as the Plano but loads of space. Might organize some plastics in those kvd worm bags.
  14. I'm going to explore using a 1/4oz mustad fastach football head and pair it with the 4" TRD & a 2/0 mustad kvd grip pin hook for dock work and chunk rock. You might be able to attempt a similar rig with the Freedom Tackle Zodiac jig and use your desired #1 hook. Just a thought, got the offseason rig juices flowing haha. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-FREEHJ.html?from=basres
  15. This is painfully true, I've placed some orders recently, just waiting for an amazon order to arrive and just flipped an order to my buddy for another TW order. Looking for a new tackle bag cause mines bursting at the seams.
  16. yeah, I had him in my line up and pulled him. He's unreliable.
  17. I just finalized my list, I'm a little worried about my tie-breaker being a bit on the low side:
  18. I have a 7' MM rod that I used for all my reaction baits, anything under 1oz or that has trebles. I liked it better running 12lb YZH over braid to leader. Excelled with 10ft cranks, square bills, and smaller swimbaits like Jackall Giron or Spro BBZ-1 Shad and Rat 30. Too much of a wet noodle for topwater walking, okay with a popmax but don't even try to walk-the-dog.
  19. Didn't they just release the Stradic SW (saltwater)? Ninja edit: nevermind, starts at 4000 size
  20. I ended up picking up a lew's custom speed stick lite 7'3" MHMF mag jig rod, should arrive next week. I found it $30 cheaper than the TP-1 Black W/J and $25 cheaper than the Fury 734c. d**n that name is a mouthful.
  21. I checked my order I purchased the magnum jig model, which is Mod-Fast, not Fast. I'm hoping it's not a broom stick.
  22. I figured it was the higher model but it looks dated compared to some of Lew's newer rods. I decided not to blow the bank on a new rod (was looking at the Daiwa Tatula Elite) and found this cheaper than a Dobyns Fury which I would have purchased. I'll send it back if it's more HF than MHF which is what I was looking for.
  23. I've always found St. Croixs to be stouter, heavier and thicker than most of the rods I've handled. How does the Tp-1 Black compare to the Custom Speed Stick Lite HM85? I think the latter should be more sensitive based on the HM85 over the HM50, and I can find it $30 cheaper.
  24. How sensitive is this rod for jigging compared to the Premier? And is it worth the premium over the standard model?
  25. Thanks A-Jay - this is awesome feedback. I follow your annual ice out / best of season posts, and respect your opinion.
