Your coolest new technique this year?
This year I focused mainly on jigs which paid of big time for me. But I took two months off jigs and learned the dropshot technique and hollow body frog speed walking. The dropshot rig is really productive. It catches not only bass but huge bluegill and huge perch. The hollow body frog was the most work to figure out. Walking it fast resulted in reaction strikes which really paid off in the early morning.

Spinnerbait mystery
From my experiance there are so many factors that determine what the bass will eat. Wind direction, water level, water color and moon phase. Also changing forage. Are they eating frogs, crawfish or shad? Was there a hatch of some sort? I try very hard to look at the details of why. But it should work again. We have used the same lure year after year on the same lake around the same time depending on water temps. And it consistently works every year.

Curado 70 / scorpion or diawa zillion sv tw
I agree. I'm so close on price to the steez sv tws that I will just pick the steez instead of the zillion. There is also alot of replacement parts to justify the money spent on the reel. So within the next month I will have the steez and an aldebaran. The one that feels better pitching I will use for that and the other I will use for a jig casting reel.

Curado 70 / scorpion or diawa zillion sv tw
I'm going to purchase the aldebaran 50 and try the smaller size shimano. That way I can give a smaller shimano reel a try.

Curado 70 / scorpion or diawa zillion sv tw
I really appreciate the info. I can understand the good points of each reel. It really seems to come down to personal preference. Since you guys talked me into it I will order the diawa and a shimano. I'm going to order two of the same megabass rod one for each reel. Not for sure yet which rod type.

Curado 70 / scorpion or diawa zillion sv tw
Thank you guys. I did as much research as I could on the web. Bass pro shop is about two hours away. Between my work schedule and family time I can only go there once a year. I started upgrading my rods selection last winter. I have a long way to go.

Curado 70 / scorpion or diawa zillion sv tw
I have a question about the reel size difference and the braking system comparison between the curado 70 /scorpion 71 and the diawa zillion sv tw. I am wanting to purchase a couple reels for pitching lures up to 3/4 oz. Has anyone had both of these reels? Could you please give me your opinion of which one was the better of these options. I really appreciate the help. Thank you in advance.

I agree 100 percent. I use bama craw and pb+j and black and blue. Don't forget the rage craws.

What’s the best baitcasting reel on sale in the $200-$300 range?
Thank you for posting those pics. I was a little on the fence about new reel choices also. I had heard rumors about parts used.

Siebert outdoors jigs
His jigs are the best IMO. I only order jigs from him. And I order my rage craw trailers from him to. Sieberts jigs are very well made. I beat my PB twice this year using his jig.

Finally going to try Rage Baits

Megabass Warhammer
I was wondering if anyone has experience using the Megabass USA Warhammer or the orochi xx Aaron Martins 7'9" flipping rod. I'm planning on purchasing one of these rods. I'm going to pair witchever rod I buy with a shimano chronarch mgl. Any info will be greatly appreciated thanks

I tried something different today...
Taking the time to actually master a lure type is the most important part of fishing I believe. It made me alot more proficient as an angler. I started this 2017 season working on jig and hollow body frogs. Though I do not consider myself a master at either yet. I have beaten my PB twice. And I owe alot of thanks to the fisherman on this sight for their helpfull posts.
