Well, the boat is about to go into the shop so I won't be up there for a while. I will be fishing the oilman's for the first time next year. Apparently if your "captain" is an immediate family member and works in the oil industry then you don't have to work in the field.

I went out one morning and came in at lunch to pick up my brother. When he saw the 3 rods on my deck he started laughing at me. He said I was the only person that fished toledo bend and the only rods on the deck were carolina rigs. I had a fluke, ol monster and a brush hog on the 3 rods.

It has always been on the deck of my boat.

Just got home from the bend. Friday we fished shallow early with limited succes until the wind calmed. We then went across the lake to some main lake stuff and caught a few around 2-2.5lbs. We only had a couple of hours before the wind kicked up again. I then ran into lanan and looked around only to find nothing of note. Saturday was spent in San Miguel because of the wind. I probably had around 12lbs. fishing docks with a chatterbait. As I put the boat in the trailer to leave it up there my trim went out. So, I had to pull it back home and will need to get that fixed. All in all it was a good time with my dad.

There is also a bfl out of San Miguel. 2 quick questions: 1. Is the shad spawn happening? 2. For those that like to fish deep. What do the fish do when it is cloudy? Do they move up on top of the ridge or do they just act normal? Thanks.

The forecast looks ok and the wind shouldn't be that bad, but who knows. I have a bunch of deep stuff marked that I want to fish if possible.

Pretty quiet in here. Heading north tomorrow for a couple of days. Hopefully I will have something good to say.

My brother caught this one in San Miguel today. He was by himself so it was hard to get a pic.

I love that community flat outside of white oak. There are also a few humps that i have caught some good fish on.

I spoke to the guy that sold it to me and that piece is a separate piece. So, they will send me a new cone to replace the cracked one. Thanks.

Congrats and great report. I need some help guys. I installed my ultrex yesterday and after installation I noticed this crack on the motor. What would you guys do? Would let it go or ask for a new one?
