  1. The Gloomis warranty states that demos are not covered, however, my last rod that I had warrantied they didn't even ask for proof of purchase. I think the Destroyer USA lineups is the best lineup of rods you can buy at $400, but the Legend X rods are great rods as well.
  2. If you can swing the money definitely. The blank utilized in the Legend X is far superior to the Avid X. I think you will be happy.
  3. Kistler, Megabass, and St Croix all have excellent blanks and build quality. St Croix has the best warranty by far. However, I think the Destroyer Daemos is the best rod for what you are looking for.
  4. Very interested as well as I am about to buy some.
  5. The Daemos is the rod in the Megabass Destroyer USA lineup to consider. It is very versatile.
  6. Legend Elite and Megabass Destroyer line are the best at the price point.
  7. While I do agree the Youtube videos can be deceiving. Do HH or ZPI bearings provide an increase in casting distance for lets say the bearings used by Shimano in the Curado 200I?
  8. Any price range you are specifically looking for?
  9. Has anyone had the chance to look at the Legend X rods?
  10. St Croixs QC is amazing. The Megabass Orochii XX is an awesome rod with great QC, but if you are able to get a St Croix Legend Elite or Legend X rods, which uses there SCVI and SCV blank at $200 it's an easy choice for me.
  11. I wish I lived near the factory. Are they blems? Do they carry a full warranty? With the ability to get 50% from St Croix, I would definitely get a Legend Elite or Legend X.
  12. For someone who just got in bass fishing, I think you have 2 great rods that can cover a lot of techniques and backed with a solid warranty. Although the lure ratings are recommendations, they provide a general guideline for lure weights that the blank is designed to handle. One thing you will find with fishing is there is no such thing as correct rather preferences. It's all a learning process that everyone, even myself, went through. You made great purchases, so don't worry. Merry Christmas!
  13. I haven't fished the Cousins rods, but around $200 it is tough to beat the Avid X and KLX. I think the KLX may slight beat the Avid X in terms of sensitivity, but the St Croix warranty is much better as the KLX has a 1 year warranty versus St Croix Avid Xs 15 year warranty. You can't go wrong with either. Hope that helps!
  14. I've always wanted to fish Lake Fork, Lake Falcon, Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, etc. Texas is loaded with great lakes. Very jealous!
  15. Yea I agree it's getting harder to find. I think *** makes a 5.3:1 in some of there offerings, too.
  16. I am curious as to how manufacturers can tell whether it was the fault of an owner or a defect. Obviously, a rod is likely to break in the first couple of trips with a defect. But, people say that you can tell by how it breaks. Can someone provide more detailed information?
  17. In terms of sensitivity I don't think you will beat the KLX at that price. Although Hammer makes a great blank as well, I think there QC isn't as good. The Avid X is also a great choice. It is a great price point with a lot of good options.
  18. I would go with the new Diawa Tatula LT over the Stradic CI4. Both are great reels, but it's just my preference. Plus, you will save some money. But if you are set on the CI4+ and Patriarch, I would pick the Shimano.
  19. Originally, I was a split grip guy, but the full handles are now my preference. That is why I am interested in the rods. Is the more solid feel attributed to the Sprial X technology versus the NRX ? Is that what you are referring to? Also, how do you like the real seats? Are they comfy? I am glad to hear you enjoy the Conquest rods, but I am skeptical as a buyer because NRX has an MBR lineup that is more affordable. My skepticism is mainly from some Tackle Warehouse reviews. But ultimately, everyone has different preferences. Keep us informed as you continue to spend time on the water with them!
  20. That is unfortunate. I hope you recover your property and hope they find the criminal as well. Hopefully people use this to try to protect themselves.
  21. I just posted a few new and improved St Croix Legend Tournaments in the flea market of Bass Resource that were just released. They are excellent rods and definitely an improvement. Check it out. Thanks guys!
  22. That price point is very competitive. In that price range I would look at St Croix and see if you can find a Megabass Orochii XX. A lot of people of getting rid of them at great prices.
  23. https://summerlandoutdoorsga.com/ The local fishing/tackle store near me is running 15% off everything in stock (no exceptions). Use HC15 at checkout. They would appreciate your business.
  24. 6:1 gear ratios. 5:1 is too slow IMO if you are throwing squarebills alongside docks and around cover. They are more designed for deep divers to provide added torque. But if you have a hard time slowing yourself down and feel comfortable with a 5:1 go for it.
