War Eagle Spinnerbaits
Most clearwater lakes you should be fine with 3/8 unless you want to fish deeper weedlines than get sone 1/2. Sexy mouse, silver shiner, sexy purple shad and blue shad.

War Eagle Vs Nichols Spinnerbaits
They'e both good in their own ways. I tend to lean towards the war eagle more than the nichols. I tend to use war eagle on river systems for some reason they are the deal and Nichols work amazing on fresh water lakes. War eagle in my opinion have better bait fish imitation colors probably why they work on river systems and nichols has more detailed specific skirts for variety of water colors and forage

Jerkbait Help/ Advice
For me the only time I'd want to use a jerk bait for sinking purposes would be around time when baitfish are dying off. Slow rise can be deadly in the spring time and during the post spawn blues. Floating for me would be in the summertime if I'm chasing smallmouth up shallow and just need to work it fast

What Sz VMC Neko Hook?
I wouldn't order anything bigger than a size 1. Size 2 would be plenty for that worm. The only time I've used 1/0 was for the zoom magnum trick worms.

What are your fall and transition lures?
If it's really early transition I would fish the outside weedline of points and then work my way in. They're still out on summer patterns at the early part. Try working jigs slow, drop shot and buzzing crankbaits over the tops of the grass. When the water starts to drop more then I'd move up to the inside turns looking bait. Docks can also be good

wind came up
I would have to agree with the whopper plopper definitely will make more noise. Probably would've gone to a crankbait and then a jig.

Spinnerbait blade color
If it's sunny you can't go wrong with silver blades in clear water. If it's a little stained I would go to the gold and silver. Overcast and cloudy I'd definitely go with something painted like white.

Which Way Do U Run Your Neko Hook?
With the shank against the worm it's more of a vertical presentation and the hook is exposed like a jig worm so you can pop it out of grass. The other way that fieder does it is for more of a glide presentation and has a better hook up in my opinon.

Big swimbaits in MN
I played around with some hard bodied swimbait's and 6-9in paddle tail swim baits with 3/4-1oz lead heads. I didn't catch any giants on them but I did catch some 4 to 4.5lb largemouth. Definitely will catch pike and muskie but I didn't find it any different than losing jigs or crankbaits to them. However I would be afraid of throwing a Huddleston or Bull Shad without heavy braid and maybe even a wire leader to much money to lose on a pike with fluorocarbon.
