3 days 5 bass
Nice fish, but ya gotta get over touching them. Stick your thumb in the mouth and hold the fish tightly between the thumb and forefinger. I won't hurt you and you won't drop the fish. 8-)

As you would expect, Shimano has taken the lead in addressing this problem: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/reels/spinning/propulsion.html 8-)

Looking for a great jig rod
p.s. If you can be patient, keep an eye on our Flea Market. Over the past several months I have purchased a BCR854, MBR842C and PR844C from members for around $250. All three of the rods are the GLX version.

Reel Comparison?
Design, engineering, machining, craftsmanship and components. From a "fishing" perspective: ergonomics and style; casting distance and control; smooth retrieve; strong drag system with consistent release; dependability, overall performance and longevity; customer service and warranty. We have many members that fish Quantum, but very few who have switched to that brand after fishing other reels. The new generation Quantums may prove to be fine reels, but history would suggest otherwise. 8-)

top water tips?
We have a number of articles in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox" at the top of the page. Here's something to start with and additional links, too! http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/topwater_bass.html 8-)

Rage Tail Baits
Rage Tail baits have become a favorite around here and among tour professionals. The Shad is very popular. BassResource member paul recently caught, pictured and posted a DD caught on the Baby Craw. I watched Big-O kick some booty with the Lobster and my personal favorite is the 10" Anaconda. You are going to hear a lot about the Space Monkey, Frog and Toad this summer. Everyone loves 'em and you need to try them! ttp://www.ragetail.com/ 8-)

America's Most Dangerous Cities
Muddy, The fundamental problem here in Memphis is political corruption. It flows from the top down. Prosecution has generally been successful, but many of the felons have been re-elected or politically appointed to other positions after incarceration. As the mayor of 17 years stated after re-election: "If you don't like the way I run this city...leave." Street crime universally has a common denominator: drugs. Most social issues seem to have another general cause: the lack of family support. I don't have THE answer, but in my small suburban community, we have addressed the problem with greater numbers of law enforcement personnel. >

America's Most Dangerous Cities
Hmm... You would think being 2008's "Muder Capital" would move Philly a little higher on the list.

Wife...and yes, it's a rant.
I have been "in training" for more than thirty years. One thing I have learned is to address issues up-front and communicate. The second key is understanding that regardless of the problem, it's your fault. Deal with it and move forward. A vase of flowers, puppy dog eyes and a sincere, "Honey, what's wrong?" goes a long ways. :

America's Most Dangerous Cities
Well, these and several other cities could all be lumped together. New Orleans, St. Louis, East St. Louis, Washington D.C., Philly and Gary, Indiana all come to mind. I'm sure there are other "favorites".

Visability
In gin clear water, I find Yo-Zuri Hybrid to be a very good match in green. The Hybrid is more manageable and much stronger than fluorocarbon in comparable diameters. 8-)
