  1. In Tennessee it's late February, a few weeks before spring. In Milwaukee or Chicago, that would be like...July? :
  2. After three days with the "Best of the Best" you would have thought someone might have caught a "keeper". Fifteen fish weighing 14 lbs just doesn't get the motor running.
  3. Things have changed! The game is being televised on regular tv! CBS and NBC will both broadcast the game Saturday night.
  4. I have recently caught a bass with the distorted pigmentation at one of my local ponds. I had seen the fish on several occasions over the past couple of years. Upon VERY careful examination, the fish appeared to be healthy and the marking appeared to be "natural" as opposed to a fungus or any kind of growth. If there is another explanation for this strange phenomena, I would like to hear what caused this coloration.
  5. Welcome aboard! Nice fish, great pic! 8-)
  6. Welcome aboard! Most of the guys are very prejudiced, everyone has their favorite manufacturer. The Pflueger guys all like the the Supreme. Many members of the Shimano Possee think the Symetre is the "best value" in the Shimano line-up. I would suggest shopping around a little more, you might find the Shimano Stradic 2500FH on sale for about the same price ($79). That would be my pick.
  7. MBR844C is a stiffer stick which you will like much better for jigs and soft plastics.
  8. These guys have EVERYTHING! http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=products&view=1
  9. Want to replace them with the originals? http://www.luckycraft.com/luckycrafthome/Products/accessories/hooks.htm

Blue skies, 80 degrees and out on the lake catching bass. Man, you got it goin'!
  11. Well, I don't have the new Stradic but I have played with it at BPS. Although I don't think this is possible, it seemed to be comparable to my Stella 2500FB! I have owned Stradics in the past and think they are the "best value" in the Shimano line-up. For $79 the "old" 2500FH model is an exceptional value, but the new model is without a doubt, an exceptional reel. I would step-up and buy the 2500FI.
  12. Well, since he is your friend, you might say, "Since God gave you two hands, why not learn to use them both?" Here's another deal, but it's "correct-handed", too! : http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1198728053

    That's a beauty! 8-)
  17. This is another aspect seperating recreational fishermen from tournament guys. I never really think about catching "a fish". I (we) have lots of days when that just doesn't happen. I don't consider that a bad day, just not the right day. On average, I think I catch one decent bass every 4-5 hours on the water. Of course, sometimes I get lucky, but that just balances out the skunks. I doesn't bother me, I really don't care as long as I catch a biggin' or a goodin' every now and then! On the Tennessee River we're always going to catch some "fish", but if we don't boat a 5+ smally, it doesn't count. In 2005 my partner and I put 50+ in the boat. That was a good year! I'll need about 45 to get even this Saturday.
  18. Jerkbaits. This is not my most productive technique, but it's my favorite.
  19. I have two CTE200GT. One is saddled to a G.Loomis GLX MBR844C (for jigs), the other is mounted on a Lamiglas SR705R (deep cranking). These combinations match up very nicely.
  20. I thought you posted a pic with a Core mounted on that stick?
  21. IMX is what seperates G.Loomis from the pack, this is where they started. I think the IMX series is DEFINITELY worth the premium.
  22. +1 It just can't get mcuh better than that! 8-)
  23. Well then, I will still recommend Guntersville and you guys will have the advantage of firsthand information from everyone at BassResource.com that attends the get-together!
  24. Why don't you guys move it up a week and come to Guntersville with the gang. I PROMISE you and your dad will have a GREAT time!
