  1. I'm glad you like the rod. I think you will find it to be VERY versatile.
  2. I'm not sure "scent" makes a difference, but I use MegaStrike for lubrication.
  3. Go big or go home. 3/4 oz Ledgebuster, Single Willow Blade. http://www.smallmouths.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2892&sid=b0cc5117d71745600d6962c29690f434
  4. Let clarify what I meant to say: If someone asks for suggestions or comparisons, chime in, but when they are comparing the various Revo models, they don't need me or anyone else suggesting a Citica, Curado, Chronarch, etc.
  5. I would go with these or the same in the 7' versions: AVC70MHF IMX MBR843
  6. Well, since I am the worst violator of the policy I am about to suggest, I hope you will consider following my lead. Shimano is what I fish and is always my suggestion when someone is looking for a new reel. However, others have a different view. When a thread is posted asking "Which Daiwa, Pflueger, Abu Garcia, etc." I will stay out of the fray. The author is looking for a reel made by those manufactures, not a Shimano. So, let members of the other possees respond, they are NOT looking for our imput. The same goes, at least for me, when anyone wants to talk about rods that I don't fish. I'm staying out of the thread.
  7. ABSOLUTELY NOT! The Citia is an excellent reel. What do you want to spend on a rod? You will receive several suggestions and we can be VERY specific.
  8. PMs are generally sent when the post is TOTALLY OBNOXIOUS, UNACCEPTABLE or COMPLETELY OUT-OF-LINE. Otherwise, posts are deleted for cause (usally part of an agrument) and would not seem to need explanation. Often posts may be deleted if they are deemed "off color", sexual, political or religious. Unless you are a repeat offender like avid and muddy , you probably will not receive a PM. On the otherhand, if the PM is deemed aggressive, insulting or is a reoccurring violation of Forum etiquette, a PM may serve as a warning before more severe action is taken. 9. You bet! Since the price was not specified, I was trying to target something comparable to the reel. However, the G. Loomis MBR series would DEFINITELY be my #1 choice. I prefer a little longer rod, but that's just personal preference. If I only had one rod, it would be the MBR844C. If you decide to go with G. Loomis, get the IMX series. This is the line of rods that established the G. Loomis company and made them the leader in high quality fishing equipment. This is the "G. Loomis Experience" and these rods are worth the price! The 783 or 843 might be a better "all-around" rod. The tip is softer than the 844 and might be favored for a number of techniques. My MBR844C is my jig rod.
  10. I am a HUGE fan of soft baits. The texture and salty taste of the GYCB plastic I think feels natural to bass. I am 100% convinced bass hold these baits longer. What is especially intriguing is that bass that drop the bait will often come back for it a second time.
  11. You might still find the St. Croix Avids on sale. (One of our members picked up three last week for $89). If you and find an AC68MXF or AC70MF for around $100 ($160 MSRP), that would be a nice rod to complete you combo!
  12. Almost perfect! The only problem is you can only catch 5 bass over 10 lbs with those baits! Watcha goin' to do the rest of the day?
  13. The Magic Lure http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141053342
  14. Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft are a bonded (not coated) fluorocarbon/nylon blend. They are not a perfect match to the refraction index of water, but they are stealthy. If you set your drag properly, you will not be broken off by a fish.
  15. WOW! Welcome aboard! 8-)
  16. Mine was School Bus Orange: http://www.gremlinx.com/
  17. Panther Martin. Specifically, black with chartreuse spots and a gold blade.
  18. How?? T-rig the Kreature on a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook, 1/8 oz bullet weight, tentacles forward and weedless. Cast into or parallel to cover. Fish the lure with a steady retrive and occasional twitch. My best results were when fishing weedline extending from the bank to a ledge, cover adjacent to deep water. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180909581
  19. Yep, that's a beauty! 8-)

So, no white Christmas for you this year! Nice pics, really. 8-)
  21. Quote of the day right there! I wish I had that mentality. I have buttloads of moderate stuff. Extremes, and low end All-Stars and the like... They work for sure, but with what I've spent, I could have had a few really nice setups, instead of a ton of adequate ones. Nice score! +1 8-)
