  1. That would complete a GREAT combo! Congratulations! 8-)
  2. Take a few practice runs on some other reel before you start messing with your Zillion. It's inexpensive to have someone do the maintainance for you if your not comfortable doing it yourself. I clean an oil everything I can on the EXTERIOR of my reels, but the guts get serviced by a pro (The Reel Mechanic).
  3. The one you don't have when you really need it.
  4. Thanks Kelley..........It good to know someone around here likes me ;D Guess we'll see how the feedback goes.... :-/ deb Well, I guess that makes two of us. BTW, Once the site for this year's outing is officially anounced, I EXPECT to see you & hubby on the list. NO EXCUSES... 8-)
  5. Correct. Although Dale Hollow remains the odds-on favorite to produce the next World Record, the Tennessee River reserviors are viable candidates. Dale Hollow is the home of the two largest smallmouth ever caught (11 lb 15 oz & 10 lb 14 oz). Over the past five years, three 10 lb brown fish have been boated on the Tennessee including one in Alabama below Wheeler Dam (technically Wilson reservior) that challenged the State Record (10 lb 8 oz) and a fish my partner caught which I netted and weighed. This fish was caught in November 2004. If it is still alive and caught again, it could be the new World Record. We know where it lives! 8-)
  6. Thanks Raul! Tomorrow night's Powerball is worth $300MM. I don't play, but maybe I'll buy one tomorrow. If I win, I'll buy both of us a complete set of everything they make and reels to go with them!
  7. Yep, my fishing partner bought several Bronzebacks when they were first intoduced. You already know how I feel about G.Loomis, so I am hesitant to bad mouth them...But...I think this series is a scam. The rods are (generally) too light for soft plastics, have a soft tip and not much sensitivity or backbone. WOW! I didn't say that, did I? I have fished them quite a bit and consider them on par with "pan fish" rods. My partner uses them for "guide rods" but has moved up to a PR844S as his main rod. There is NO comparison. I would HIGHLY recommend the SJR series over the Bronzeback. Specifically, SJR783S or 843S. My PR844S is NOT for you, the tip is too soft. It is THE ROD for live bait and poppers.
  8. WOW! That's why we have have so many differnt opinions. I fish a St. Croix Avid AC66MF with a SOFT tip for medium weight lures (X-Rap, LC Pointer 100, Rapala Husky Jerk, Smithwick Rogue). For heavier treble hook lures (DD22, LC Pointer 128, Sammy, Zara Spook) Lamiglas SR705R glass. Generically, I recommend a Medium Power/ Moderate Action rod for most treble hook lures. For heavier lures, MH or Heavy Power/ Moderate or Slow Action. Take a look at this thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546
  9. flechero, I would like that very much! 8-) I'll send you a PM later and we'll work out the details. Thanks for the offer.
  10. Welcome aboard! Take a little time an look around. We have set up a number of specific sections for various topics.
  11. OOOOOOOOOOoooh grasshopper... Bait Monkey say that look very nice sitting on top of GLX PR844C. Bait Monkey remember my birthday next month....OOOOOOOOOOOOoooh...very good.
  12. No, 3 pack Baby Bass special ($34).
  13. Nope. :'( All of my first, three lure package found new homes WAY before the hooks got dull. I caught 16 bass on one, eight on another and zero on the third (first cast). They now sleep with the fishes.
  14. Toby Keith and Willie Nelson have a little tune that sums it up: http://www.lyrics007.com/Toby%20Keith%20Lyrics/Whiskey%20For%20My%20Men,%20Beer%20For%20My%20Horses%20Lyrics.html
  15. Welcome aboard! Massachussetts, huh? Is that near New England? :
  16. None. There are times when the better option is to stay home. On my home water (Tennessee River) it's too hot to fish, period. The water temperature is 92 degrees, air temperatur 101-107, heat index in the teens and the fish are not biting. My partner has guided three, eight hour trips during this heat wave and caught a total of five small stripers. He cancelled trips this week.
  17. I cannot offer a side-by-side comparison, but if I only had one rod, the MBR844C would be the one.
  18. Well, there's "I'm sorry." And then there's "I'm sorry I got caught." It makes a big difference to me.
  19. The last professional soccer I watched was the World Cup years ago. After five hours and three overtime periods, the World Championship was decided by a "free kick." Final score 1-0.... How do you spell B-O-R-I-N-G? On the otherhand, I coached girls soccer when my daughter was younger. That was great! (But tether ball would have been just as exciting as long as I got to be with my baby girl). My daughter starts college next Monday, but she is still playing soccer in a recreational league. I wouldn't miss it for "A Day on The Lake" with Clunn, Dance and KVD! And chickie with dude... :
  20. ;D ;D ;D ;D DUDE! I knew a little about your organization, but not nearly enough. Man, you are a Prince! 8-)
  21. Well, just some GREAT ideas! 8-)
  22. Happy Anniversary! 8-)
  23. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D GOOD LUCK GUYS! That's REALLY cool. 8-)
  24. Hmm... Same ole answer... For spinning gear: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (11.9 lb test).
