  1. Man, if you are in to trash fish, it's on! The buffalo are schooling and breeding. Your average fish is over 20 lbs, but there are monsters throughout the Tennessee River system. I caught my biggest, fishing for smallmouth, on a GYCB Kreature. I estimate the fish at 40-50 lbs, but too big for the net. The Tennessee State Record is 62 lbs.
  2. Welcome aboard!
  3. Plus it's painted!
  4. No. The bait is designed to be fished with a bullet weight to help enhance the tail action. I let the bait settle to the bottom and use a steady retrieve. Tick the bottom and pop it whenever you hit something.
  5. New Okuma series being introduced next week: https://okumafishingusa.com/products/psycho-stick-rods-coming-soon
  6. Try the Rage Menace, T-rigged with a bullet weight.
  7. That means it was a creek before the lake was created. The lake "flooded" the creek bed.
  8. Big O thinks painted weights make a difference, so I defer to him.
  9. I keep my boat in the Muscle Shoals area (Sheffield) right now, but in the summer at Yellow Creek. I fish from the Wilson Dam to the water below Pickwick. My favorite is the river below Pickwick. On the upper lake you have the horse shoe, rip rap outside of McFarland and the bluffs across from the harbor. Then down to 7 Mile Island, then Caney Creek and Kroger Island. On the lower lake I like the cove near the State Park ramp, rip rap at the dam and the bluffs to the north of the flood gates. Next is Dry Creek, then Yellow Creek and sometimes Bear Creek and Second Creek (Waterloo). Below the Pickwick Dam I fish from the white warning signs down to the power lines, both sides of the river. Sometimes I motor down to the honky-tonk, but don't fish down to there. Right now the white bass are on fire on the down river side of Diamond Island.
  10. Panther Martin, black with chartreuse dots and gold blade.
  11. Some are on beds, but mostly pre-spawn. Rage Menace, Red Eye Shad, Bandit 200, Swarming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad.
  12. 6lb+ today at Grove on a Rage Blade/ Structure Bug. White on white. One hour and thirty minutes, one bite and one fish...and then I left!
  13. I prefer painted tungsten, black, green pumpkin/ black flake or reddish. The color matches the bait and to me it just adds a finish to the presentation. Every bass I have talked with agrees.
  14. That's impressive!
  15. Welcome aboard!
