I keep my boat in the Muscle Shoals area (Sheffield) right now, but in the summer
at Yellow Creek. I fish from the Wilson Dam to the water below Pickwick. My favorite
is the river below Pickwick.
On the upper lake you have the horse shoe, rip rap outside of McFarland and the
bluffs across from the harbor. Then down to 7 Mile Island, then Caney Creek and
Kroger Island.
On the lower lake I like the cove near the State Park ramp, rip rap at the dam and
the bluffs to the north of the flood gates. Next is Dry Creek, then Yellow Creek and
sometimes Bear Creek and Second Creek (Waterloo).
Below the Pickwick Dam I fish from the white warning signs down to the power
lines, both sides of the river. Sometimes I motor down to the honky-tonk, but
don't fish down to there. Right now the white bass are on fire on the down river
side of Diamond Island.
