The Stradic 2000FH is the best value in the Shimano line-up. Strong, smooth, silent and reliant. For $120 this is a great reel that will last for many years. The reel is perfect right out of the box, but oddly, gets even better over time. On the other-hand, if price is no object, the Shimano Stella 2500FB is the ultimate spinning reel, "Indescribably delicious!"

[sorry Mr yamamoto your red and black senko did catch me my PB but for 2.99 verses 6 bucks you cant beat a wave worm.] Hmm... For $1.00 a piece you catch 5 lb+ bass consistantly, but for 20 cents you can catch a boat load of 1-2 pounders. Which is the better deal? I guess it's all about expectations.

I quit fishing 5' Senkos a long time ago. They simply catch too many bass. Now I fish 6" Senkos exclusively. I don't catch as many bass, but they seem to be better fish. 8-) I have always felt GYCB products were a tremendous value. When I'm fishing I expect to catch big bass on every trip. That doesn't always happen, but I feel like the deck is stacked in my favor when I am fishing what I consider to be the best soft plastic baits on the planet. If everything were "just as good" we would compare baits to another standard. But the standard bearer is the Senko, the one and only GYCB Senko.

In a television series, I suppose we should grant a wide range of artistic interpretation. My point, or my daughter's point, is that the House and Senate are very much involved, especially during a protracted medical procedure. Depending on your price parameters: Shimano Citica, Curado, Chronarch MG or Calais. These reels are strong, silent and smooth. With proper maintenance they will last a lifetime. Although I have given some of my reels away over the years, as far as I know, every Shimano I have ever owned is still in use. Shimano reels are good-to-go right out of the box, but oddly, they improve with time. There are many other high quality brands, but there is only one Shimano.

My favorite color is green. In most water, the green is practically invisible; in the smaller diameters, totally invisible. I recommend #6 (11.9 lb test) for spinning tackle and #12 (19.5 lb test) for baitcasting equipment. **Note** I am currently using #4 (8.5 lb test) on my spinning reels. I am comfortable with this strength, but not everyone would be.

I fished them for about two years, but found them to be no more effective than 6" Senkos for big bass. The main reason I quit using them was because the are simmply too heavy to cast on my preferred soft plastic equipment (MF spinning tackle). BTW, If you decide to stick with them, I recommend Gamakatsu 5/0 Offset Round Bend Worm Hooks. I use this hook occasionally when fishing 6" Senkos, too. They are stout, very stout.

GYCB makes a 7" Senko. I fished the 7" Senko for a year or so, but didn't catch better fish than with the 6" version. Mostly, I didn't like the bait because it was too heavy to cast with my preferred soft plastic gear (MF spinning equipment). Although I am all about "big baits" in general, the 6" Senko works VERY well for me.

Fat Ika, $0.75 retail! On average, I would guess I catch between 10 & 15 lbs of bass per lure. They come ten to a bag and I have about 15 bags. I hope to run out of the ones I have and buy some more. :

Why would you trust a company to repair a brand new reel that they knew, or should have known, requires service before being used? If you are going to keep the reel, send it to someone you can trust (ReelMech) and have it done right. You'll have the reel back within a week or two for an all-in cost of $20 or less and peace of mind. Regardless of the excuses they make, Daiwa has not met their obligation to deliver a fully operational, precision reel. In my book, that is inexcusable.
