  1. Tiny Torpedos and the Zara Puppy (black & silver) are two lures I recommend to EVERYONE for numbers. If you are just starting or have never caught a bass on topwater, these two lures are as close as you can get to "guaranteed!" However, I don't fish them because I have never caught a big bass on either. Maybe I need to give them another try. 8-)
  2. The three I recommend are: Zara Spook (frog) LC Sammy (Aurora Black which is blue) Smithwick Floating Rogue (black & silver with an orange belly)
  3. This got past me, I have just now seen the post... Avid, I look forward to meeting you now or later. Whatever you are facing, you are a man than can get it taken care of. Good luck to you.
  4. As Dirty Harry once said, "A man has got to know his limitations." : Or after looking at the schematic, "How do it know?" 8-)
  5. Welcome aboard! Some of our members should be able to help. Keep checking back on this thread.

Well, it's better that she buys baits you can "borrow" than shoes you could never wear!
  7. The traditional artificials work int deep water, too. Here are a few suggestions: grubs, Hula Grubs, 3 1/2" Gitzit and hair jigs.
  8. Welcome aboard! For most soft plastics I use a Gamakatsu or X-Point 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook.
  9. White or white & silver, but there are lots of other choices and they are all on sale at BPS: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=420&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
  10. Woo-hoo! Good to hear from you. It sounds like you are VERY busy, and that's a good thing!
  11. I think everywhere you listed is a good place for some bass to stage, sometimes!
  12. Hun?
  13. I buy virtually all of my hard baits from BPS. If a lure is defective or breaks, I take them back for exchange. I have NEVER been denied.

  15. Welcome aboard! Avid AS66MF or AS70MF
  16. Sometimes it makes you wonder, like topwater in the winter. Sure, it "might work", but maybe it's not a high percentage option. I fish the DD22 in the winter, well, year around for that matter.
  17. No... Several members of the Posse have bought them, too. Both the Revo and the Steez are "The New Thing." We'll see what everyone has to say down the road. I hope these reels turn out to be just as fine tomorrow as they are today, and I suspect they will be. Congratulations guys!

    : Welcome aboard!
  19. We have a section here called the "Flea Market." Check that section out over the next few weeks and you will probably be able to pick up a great rod at a good price.
  20. Well, will see how others respond, but my take is that bass are (usually) so aggressive on a spinnerbait bite that they basically hook themselves. So, we don't need much sensitivity or quick response. I don't fish spinnerbaits often, but I don't recall missing any strike I was actually aware of getting. Maybe I'm missing the subtle touch, but I don't think so!
