  1. It looks like 2007 is your year! Man, you have been consistantly catching some great fish. Congratulations! Keep posting those great pics.
  2. Welcome aboard! Great fish, nice pic.
  3. Well, I have almost calmed down. These last two days of Fish_Chris fishing are beyond anything I think a "regular guy" would ever expect to experience in a lifetime. His story writing skill makes the trip even that much better and his photographs should be featured in National Geographic. This is as good as it gets.
  4. S.carey, Welcome aboard! You are our only member with a Share Lunker. Congratulations! p.s. The picture of you and your fish is great, but that fish looks like it could have weighed twice as much as it really did. Awesome!
  5. Welcome aboard! http://bassresource.com/fishing/worm_rigs.html At the top of this page you will see "Fishing Articles". Look through this section and you will find all the resources you'll need to get started.
  6. If Gary Yamamoto is backing a product, it's worth a look. Charlie Allen has no credibility.
  7. Charlie Allen uses EXACTLY the same script for Kick-Tail and some golf club (the name escapers me). Steer clear!
  8. We need to recruit more smallmouth fisherman!
  9. I was counting on Dodgeguy to come to the rescue!
  10. Actually, two days in a row! This was Day 1: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1173873289
  11. Original Tennessee Shad Baby Bass
  12. The fish feed year around and probably have developed a taste for "popcicles." There is no other "baitfish" easier to catch than a stocker trout. I also suspect smallmouth bass are not targeted by the majority of the fisherman, but are only caught "incidently."
  13. ** TENNESSEE ALERT ** Get the women & children off the streets! Boys, saddle-up and get your guns, locked & loaded. 8-)
  14. Those are two of my favorites. My PB was caught on a Norman Fat Boy (bluegill pattern). Two others you might want to pick up are the Bagley BII and Mann's -1. I bought the Lucky Craft Rick Clunn 2.5 & 3.5, but have not fished them yet. I'm pretty sure these are going to be favorites, too.
  15. Well, if you go back to Mattlures' initial post and compare the picture to the ones Fish_Chris posted, I think you can see that the fish are very similar. I see NO REASON to question the validity of the catch on this thread. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1173943555/0 These are some mighty fine smallmouth bass!
  16. This story was posted in the Smallmouth Section and I left it there, but if you missed it, here you go: This is story worth repeating http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1173943555/0 Congratulations Fish_Chris!
  17. Story, fish, pics... Absolutely stunning!
  18. What are you guys doing? The "guessing" is over.
  19. Many of our members have highly praised the Symetre, it's a fine reel. This was my first Shimano and I thought it was a great reel. A few years later I picked up a couple of Stradic which I thought (still think) are tighter and smoother. Although I have given these reels away, all three are still in use 8 & 10 years later! I think the Stradic is the "best value" in the Shimano line-up. I HIGHLY recommend this reel.
  20. Welcome aboard! This is a great reel and will make a fine combination for you. For line, I recommend #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft.
  21. Good for you. Congratulations!
  22. Don't do that! Call G.Loomis and ask them to send you a tip-top. You can easily replace it yourself, probably at no cost.
  23. Pick up some 5" Senkos (not knock-offs) and Fat Ika. If the fish picks up or strikes these baits they usually hold on (they like the taste and texture).
  24. I have a Fenwick Techna AV AVS70MM, St. Croix Avid AC66MF and AS66MLF. Sensitivity is NOT an issue, they are all great rods at their respective pricing point. My AC66MF is my "all-around" baitcasting rig. I use it for all treble hook applications. However, the tip is too soft for jigs and soft plastics. The AS66MLF is my trout, white bass and crappie rod, but it could be used for medium size bass in relatively open water. It's fun to fish. Techna AV AVS70MM. For light and medium weight treble hook lures, this is a fine rod. I bought it to fish jerkbaits at night for walley and BIG German brown trout. The Moderate Action is ideal for this application.
  25. Well, it's not a pure fluorocarbon, but I don't think you need a leader, I don't use one.
