Weather
The cold front is just arriving here in Memphis. Our issue for the next four days is ice. It is just raining right now, but our forcast is calling for up to 1/2" of ice mixed with snow starting tonight.

Jerkbaits For Trout
The BEST trout outing I have ever had was on the White River fishing a Rapala X-Rap XR6.

Shimano Reels Personal Reviews
That's not neccessarily true. I have two Pinnacle Optimus XLT and a new XiHS. As a HUGE Shimano fan, I may have found a new brand.

Old Big Bass
This is what I have heard: In the Mid South a smallmouth can grow to 5 lbs in 4-5 years, but they generally only live to 8 years or maybe 10 at the max. It takes about 10 years for Great Lakes smallmouth to reach 5lbs, but they live to about 18, maybe 20 years max.

Rigging For Brush Hogs/creatures
The basic rigging is just like a worm: Through the nose and into the body, then push the eyelet through the bait. Pictures are worth a thousand words: http://www.ragetail.com/news/rigging-info/rigging-diagrams/

Needed to start a new thread rather than hijack Dwight's post. So, Brian & Jeff: Where, when and on what? I want to hear the long version.

I bet you are right. I think I will edit my responses on this thread. I have not fished with the newer Hammer Rods. Thanks John! That is a very good point.

Ardent Evercast Horizon Reels (Collegiate & Military)
I am not familiar with the Ardent brand or any of their reels. I'm sure some of our members will comment when they see your post. If you are looking for suggestions and alternatives, here are a few: Keep an eye on our Flea Market. This is where you can get the best bang for your buck. Shimano Symetre 2500 is a great spinning reel at it's pricing point. Shimano Citicia 200 is what I would recommend for baitcasting. Both of these reels should sell for $100 or less "gently used".

Hammer Rods?
I had the opportunity to fish with Carl Graham a few years ago and still see him quite often on Pickwick. Carl founded the company, but I believe the company was sold several years ago.
