I'm impressed with the reel, I think you will be, too! Down the road you might consider super tuning the reel, upgrading the drag and bearings. I had this reel and a Curado 50 upgraded earlier this year by Mike at DVT. Whether you decide to super tune or not, I would still recommend a thorough cleaning to achieve maximum performance.

I always buy some tackle on the road. 00 Mod and I recently hit Big Red's on our way to the White River. This is a tackle shop with hometown charm and a good selection of baits and lures, both domestic and JDM. When we were there Red had MegaStrike Vision 110 FX on sale for $17 and most impressively, a HUGE supply of the new Gary Yamamoto hard baits.

Congrats to LSU, but the little piggies might not belong in the SEC. That was the most despicable performance I can remember in a long time. I had no dog in the hunt, but I thought the Razzorbacks might have shown a little pride and won one SEC victory. Their last minutes were just embarrassing!

Yes, but technically "Pickwick" below the Wilson Dam. He fished one spot on a generator exclusively, fished the Berkley Hollow Belly exclusively and all his fish were smallmouth.

"slimmer profile and more subtle action" Another suggestion that has been working for me is the MegaStrike Tube Craw rigged on a Shak e2. Without moving the bait the tenacles stand up and gently flutter. When the Tube Craw is moved it kicks up a little cloud of mud and finishes upright. Most of my bites have come dead-sticking while smoking a cigarett!
