  1. Well I always have an X-rap, Buzzbait, and a T-rigged lizard tied on during prespawn. There my triple play of success
  2. Haha so full pull, your the reason I couldnt find any yum dingers in my fav color! I picked up some bags as well there. As for the question I do that Yum soft plastics catch fish, now if it is because of the LPT or not thats an entirely different manner. I think it most defenitley helps with them hanging on after they strike though.
  3. I went with the wacky rig. Its just my personal favorite now that ive learned how to use it really well. There all so good, I can go a whole day and fish every single way on the poll. Whats with the 0 for the carolina rig?
  4. I love the storm chug bug. Pop it, spit it, or walk it that topwater can do it all. I also love me some booyah pond buzzbaits or the strike king double take. The chug bug though is my number 1 without a doubt.
  5. Ya, Ive always beed really impressed with there power bait and GULP! line. I just got one shallow minnow diver in the black back/ silver bottom and I might get it wet tomorrow. Ill give you my test of it when I do.
  6. I was reading an article in field and stream and it was very informative about berkely and there testing of artificial lures. During the article, a lab tech was quoted saying " our Frenzy line isnt selling to well due to marketing, but let me tell you there one of the biggest sleepers in bass fishing". Did anyone else read this? Does anyone have any info about the Frenzy line of crankbaits?
  7. Well in experiance every fish I've seen hooked in the gill has died. The gills are full of blood and being the fishes way of breathing, obviously damaging them in any way is lethal. If I had to guess I'd say mort rate would be 95% of the time and cause of death would be from suffacation or blood loss. Im interested in what other people think on this though.
  8. Ha well you faired much better than I did. I got out last weekend and was completely skunked. I mean not even a hit. What lake, depth, and tactic were you using? The lake that I fish the average depth is around 100ft. So in February all the fish hold deep. Congrats on the day out though!
  9. I went to the classic and saw the pointers and rick clunn cranks both on sale. Quickly I gave in and walked out with 6 LC lures. I threw my pointers out the same day in my personal bass pond and caught 6 in 30 minutes. Mind you that it was about 45 degrees and I wasnt expecting a single fish. Now I'm a huge LC fan and sadly...........will be spending more money on them. I called BPS and asked them if they could put me on a call list if LC lure ever go on sale. They laughed......and put me on the list
  10. Well after the knock we continued to drive around the lake for about 6 more hours with no problems. The hit cut off the engine, I really dont think it did anything major. Im not even sure if the chips are from the rock, they may have already of been there.
  11. Well yesterday I went out to Carters Lake and my out board met a rock that i couold not see. I was going slow, around 5 mph. The only problem was the prop gaurd got scratched. The prop itself got miner chips on the edges. Will this cause any problems?
  12. I like to think of myself as my own lucky charm. This way I'm sure to never leave myself at home when I go out on the lake. ;D
  13. Well to me I think every bass is different. Theres no way your going to be able to make a formula to success that will always work. Dont get me wrong, all of the aspects are very important, its just that its near impossible to put a value of importance on it. Bass have different personalities, they are all going to respond to different things differently.
  14. With me I go with 8 pound at first. Its a good medium between the three. Personally I've never had to change from my 8# to anything else. Unless I know there is large bass in the area, then I go to #10 and a longer rod.
  15. Lure: I'd go with specialist. I'm a deadly T-rigger and I'm really confident with soft plastics of any kind. I also love to throw topwaters, just another confidence bait for me. Jerkbaits would have to be my third pick. Water: Specialist shallow. If I see a bass, its usually my bass. Unless of course its one of the lock jaw "cruisers" that I cannot get to even notice my presentation. Angler: Finesse. I love everything about finesse fishing. I feel like an artist on the canvas when I'm dragging my drop-shot across a grass line. Really to me it is an art, and the satisfaction to your masterpiece is a beautiful bass.
  16. Would have to be the good old Rat-L-Trap in the blue and chrome color scheme. Best fish finder I could tie on my rod.
  17. Ya I heard they let out a whole zoo full of bait monkeys before the spring fishing classic starts. I'm just gonna give in to the addiction I suppose.
  18. Mid-Evil? yum save me some ye ole mutton chops with a side of gruel. Haha
  19. Ha, why dont you go and bust my bubble fluke.
  20. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the sales they had last year? Im gonna bring my credit card to the event and Im just wanting some info to wet my whistle. Also I'll be going to the one in Lawernceville, Ga if any of the other Bassresource anglers are goin down there. We should all meet up and represent the BassResource.com.
  21. Whenver I'm buying plastics I'm looking for 2 main colors. Pumpkin seed and watermelon, after that I look for black with specs and brown with specs. Then I'll move to a red shad or some bright color taht I'll tie on when nothing is hitting.
  22. I started to count, but around 200 or so I lost count so I just gave up. That was kind of an eye opener. See I just plan on when there is a nuclear fall out, I'm gonna have enough lures so i can fish for my survival. Thats my excuse anyways.
  23. Welcome!!!! ;D Im 19 myself. Glad to see we have such a good popultaions of young guns on the forum.
  24. Zack, as with anything you want to get good at, the best thing you can do is practice. Learn all techniques and try as many different things you can. Fish different times, temps, lures, and even species. When I go out I always bring my notebook, I take notes of the weather, time, water clarity, and water temp. I also keep a log of the fish I catch and how they were caught. When I go home that night I can look back at my notebook and see what worked. No matter how good you are, experience still enhances skill.
  25. Ha I love this site, it saved me money! They had Bomber cranks on sale for 2.97, so I got a few of the deep diving cranks in crawdaddy colors. Then they had the FLW 6"finesse worm in red shad swirl for 1.50 a pack, as well as having the FLW watermelon 4" tubes for 1.50. Then I saw Renegade Laser Minnows on sale for 1.97 so I got about 6 of them. So tomorrow im gonna go check out my other local wally world and raid its fishing department.
