I always trim the weed gaurd on a angle towards the hook. Try it if your missing hook-ups...

My buddy will just about laugh me out of the boat. On tough days I always say "if I had the Banjo minnow right now I would be catching fish". I used the Banjo minnow for 1 season and it caught tons of fish. I fished it weightless and jerked it like a injured shad, man the reaction strikes....

Go with the St. Crroix Avid, you will love it. I have 3 casting (AC66mf) and 3 spinning (AS60mf), might even pick up a 7th one this year. At the end of a fishing trip I wanted to dropshot but didn't feel like setting it up, lucky enough my buddy had his setup already. When I picked it up I noticed a difference right away, sure enough, look down its a premiere. Its like going from a Corvette to a Escort...

I like fishing the skirted tubes a little better because I can control there fall rate on the water. Both are great baits and they work awesome all year round. I personaly don't care if the pros use them, they work for me and thats all that matters....
