Dragging zoom trick worms on the bottom?
Very effective way of fishing. When you see it's lips and crushers in the back of his mouth like that red. That means that it has been munching on craws. The reason they're red is because they are raw from crushing the craw fish shells and hard stuff. Another way you can tell if they are eating craw fish is by feeling their stomach and seeing if its hard. They are eating shad when their lips will have sharp, long teeth and their stomach will be soft.

I’m getting antsy!
Warm and sunny down here. Today it was 83 degrees. The fish pulled up on beds Friday.

Catch and release
That's the reason there's a limit at a lake. So people that want fish to eat can get some and so that way there isn't to many small ones and they can grow properly.

Fluorocarbon for frogs
Did you go out there and test how much those two weights can actually be pulling and did you pick a gallon bottle with a rod or are you just guesstimating. I'm not arguing with what works and what doesn't.

15.48 lb Bass
His hands are as big as his face and his elbows are just slightly bent... He's definitely straight arming. That's what I do when I only catch a few two pounders on a rough day.

Boom Boom Frog?! Frog fur??
I totally agree with that, If that frog flips over in the pads it's gonna be fun trying to rip it through which will mess up your cast. Why try to fix what's not broken? You can still catch bass on a frog with the right equipment and the right hook set.

Fluorocarbon for frogs
Seventeen if near thin cover like grass, 25 heavy cover. Foot and a half. Not trying to hate on everybody that said braid. Just saying what worked for me. Longer leader for clearer water and shorter leader for dirty water.

Fluorocarbon for frogs
If you have short strikers, your problem is gonna be ripping it out of their mouths. Braid has zero stretch. As soon as you pull that rod up that hook is either firmly set or the frog is coming out of that fishes mouth. I only straight braid when I'm fishing heavy cover. Almost always, I will use a mono leader, because it floats and it gives just enough stretch to get the right hook set in that fishes face. I've lost a really major tournament last year because I was ripping my frog outta their mouths. I don't know but that just helps me.

Topwater
If they really want it, yes you can't hardly get it out of their mouth. If you have ever seen a crank turned sideways in a basses mouth, that's exactly what it's like. The way the back treble is set up, it has a swinging piece on it which makes it where those fish that just suck it in there mouth that the hook will move directly to their mouth. Hope it's not to confusing.... so yes they eat it both ways but most swallow.

What's your confidence lure?
Power fishing is a good way to start out on a new lake. When I find them that's when the slow fishing comes into play.

Topwater
I like two lures and two lures only in the spring, that's a sexy dawg walking bait in sexy shad color and a top water popping frog in bullfrog color just in case they way back in the grass of pads. Also I have a whopper plopper, great bait. I prefer to fish this around rip rap banks and docks.

What's your confidence lure?
I don't know much about northern fishing, but I do know that cranks are a very versatile bait when it comes to fishing for LMB's. Any fish will hit a crank because what does it imitate, a bait fish of some sort. What type of bait fish do you see in the water? You could even throw a crappie colored crank bait around those pilings that the crappie hang out at. Strike king makes my favorite crank baits. I like to fish the 3.5 when they are more aggressive and in deeper pilings and the 2.5 for the lay downs on the bank. Good luck on your pond fishing journey.

What's your confidence lure?
I do like to fish with a football jig (preferably black and blue), I'll get as big as 3/4 ounce and no smaller than three eighths. I normally fish with a rage tail, menace, creature hawg and probably my favorite trailer that's really subtle is a Berkley power bait.
-
What's your confidence lure?
Good choices, if black and blue doesn't work I like to go with watermelon red. If the water is merky and they aren't biting black and blue I'll go with something with a kicking action like Mike L was saying, a ribbon tail or speed worm.

What's your confidence lure?
When times are hard and you don't know what to do, what is your lure that you have most confidence in using? Mine is gonna have to be a Texas rigged senko in black and blue flek.

where do you buy most of your gear
I'm like the rest, I try to help out the locals. If they don't have what I need, I normally go to Academy's or Walmart. The bigger companies seem to add a lot more value to their products than what they should be. If I don't feel like driving an hour to those stores, I just order online.
