H2O Double Plopper, 10 pound fish, Chickamauga.
I have tried the fueax Senko's and Keitechs...they made me invest in Mend-It glue. Especially for the Keitechs, but man, they just catch more fish for me.

How would you rig 5 rods at new lake?
I only carry 3 rods, wether that be in my Yak or the back of someone elses boat. Spinner bait on the Baitcaster(20lbs braid) Senko on the 7' M/EF spinning rod(15lbs braid) Keitech 3.8 Fat Impact on the 7'ML/F spinning rod(8lbs NanoFil...soon to be 10lbs braid) If I know Im going to be running over lilly's or grass. I may start off with a frog on the Baitcaster, but Im not scared to burn a weightless FAT Impact over lilly pads. I lose some on that light gear, but it is real sporty!

Keitech FAT Swing Impact : 2.8" & 3.3"
I will give you guys an amateurs tip on 3.8 FAT Impacts: buy some 1/32oz nail weights and put 1(one) nail into the pre drilled hole...talk about an action they cant resist. People concentrate on what that paddle tail is doing, but when you add just a little bit of weight to one side? It gets a little shake or a wobble, too. It is deadly and my go to set up, when the Senko's are not working.

Keitech FAT Swing Impact : 2.8" & 3.3"
3.8's are my JAMMMMM! I throw the 2.8's a bunch too, but tire of the panfish, biting off tails.

So far this season what has been everyone’s most productive lures?
A black and blue flake 5" Senko, with a 4/0 offset EWG. Behind that, has been YUM Baby crawbug, in black and blue hooked with a 2/0 offset EWG. I usually have a 1/16oz bullet weight in them too. I have seen the T-rig as my seasonal, go to rig. I think I should learn the Red Rig though. Apparently, Im the only knuckle dragger not keen to it yet.

Uses for small tungsten bullet weights
I use the small ones 1/16-1/8 on all my T-Rigs. I also use a bobber stop, before and after the weight. It keep the weight from banging/grinding on my fancy knots.

Flouro or Braid....
Yeah, I really like the Sufix832 that I have been using on the baitcaster. Im going to put a order in for some 832 8lbs. I appreciate everyone's input.

How long have you been fishing?
LOL...too much water everywhere else? If you look North from that bridge, that is the family farm I spent most of my summer on. You ever fish the strip mines there West of Shefield IL? I caught my PB several times, in those mines.

How long have you been fishing?
Took my first blugill, under the I80 bridge over the Hennipen Canal in Bureau County IL, in early may 1982. I was 5 years old and caught it on a worm, threaded on a #8 hook, under a Thill bobber. Funny I remember that but dont remember the rod and reel combo.

Flouro or Braid....
I just finished pulling the NanoFil off of a couple of spools and upon further inspection, I feel like line twist is what finally got that line. I had flipped it already and both ends had the twist and about 40yds in the middle that looked "new". Thanks for the post, gives me some food for thought. I carry a spare spool, so I may look into carrying something a second set up.

Flouro or Braid....
Since I have your ear RoadWarrior. Any real difference between 6lbs and 8lbs Seagaur Flouro's diameters? The line diameter between the two is practically identical, across their flouro offerings. Just curious if one "fishes" any different than the other? ETA: I ask, because my BG's max out at 100yds of 8lbs. I could bounce for some Tatsu and get two reels filled with a 200 yds spool and that reverse each spool at the end of summer for fall/winter fishin

Flouro or Braid....
Will flouro hold up yo a couple of seasons of fishing? I have no issue pulling line and reversing it. Tatsu is what prompted this post. It gets great reviews, but the cost...If I can get a couple seasons out of it, it would be in the top 3 for me...based on reviews.

Flouro or Braid....
Im having issues deciding which direction to go. I have been using NanoFil the past season and a half and it is starting to lose the ghost with knots breaking at the eye. My set ups are finesse for throwing Senko's, 3.8 Keitechs, 1/16-1/8 Rooster tails. This is being done on either a 7' M/L-Fast HMG or 7' M-Fast HMG. With a Diawa 1500 BG and 8lbs NanoFil. The vast majority of my fishing is bank or kayak fishing and I have a baitcast set up as well, but I run 832Sufix on it and am happy. Im looking for one line, one weight and no leaders. I like the feel that braid gives, but will it throw the small inline spinners? I like the idea of flouro, but I am lazy and dont wany to have to spray conditioner all the time. Most of my fishing is local lagoons and soft bottom rivers with down falls for cover. The NanoFil has been ok, but I feel after a season and a half, it is best suited for ultra light applications and I will continue to use it in thise applications. So, flouro or braid...an age old question.

New Spinning setup
7' HMG M-Fast, with a Diawa BG 1500 hooked into and and use it for jigging swim baits and throwing Senko's. I wish it was extra fast.

Fishing with Old Timers
My dad has a nasty habit of keeping track of just about everything. We fished this little man made lake in Iowa named Hawthorne. He talked about how he was catching 100 fish everytime he went. I was calling BS and we went a few months later. He had a clicker, like the kind you would have for taking a head count at the state fair. No wonder no one wants to fish with him. To his credit, it was the single best day of fishing I have ever had. We threw watermelon Senko's and I know I personally caught 133 fish and dad was not far behind. Every fish was about 14" and hit that Senko like it had not eaten in a month. If you wanted to teach someone how to fish a TRig, that was the day.

3/4 piece ultra light baitcaster rods?
Fenwick has one. I have one in their HMG spinning configuration and I have landed some nice fish, including the one in my profile picture.

Bulk GYCB Senko 'Seconds'?
I would love to get bulk packs of Senko's. There is a TruValue in Bettendorf IA that sold these 5" black ring worms with a white single curl tail. They sold all their plastic worms by weight. I bought the 10lbs bag one year and over a two year period, used every single worm. LB and SB hated that worm.

Daredevils.
Im genuinely surprised, that people still use them. Dont get me wrong, I think it is great, just surprised. Same with Silver Minnows I suppose. I throw a lot of small spoons at em on light gear...so why not Daredevils.

For the guys on the bank.

Would anyone like to share their Favorite lure.....
Yep, a black and blue fleck, 5" Senko on a 4/0 Gamakstu Offset EWG Hook, tied onto 15lbs Sufix 832.

Do you know anyone who quit fishing?
I have known a couple. Both due to serious illnesses of loved ones. One even emptied out about 60 firearms and probably 70k worth of boat/gear. To this day, he had not hunted or fished, despite our best efforts Sadly, the money could not buy the life, just some time.

Beating the Heat
I agree and unlike most lakes, you get some shade while wading most rivers.
