Bowfin anyone?
We call em Cypress bass. Nuisance around here. Most all angers carry a mudfish knocker with em. I'll let y'all figure out what that is. State record bowfin for Ga is 15lbs, I caught one that was 1lb shy of the record. Not a record I'd be proud of haha

Trolling motor selection (mfr sites aren't helping)
I use a Minn Kota 70 edge, 24v, 45" shaft It's on the front of a 16" bass tracker and works flawless. Tough and dependable Personally I recommend Minn Kota edge series, on the cheaper side and dependable. Something around 50lb 12v would work good for ya. I use 24v because I fish river systems and it's a must

It takes all kinds of kinds...
Haha too funny @Hook2Jaw It's all good, I'll find me another secret hole to fish and grow some big bass! I guess angry is the wrong word I used in the beginning of this thread, a better word would have been frustrated. O well, like the title says, it takes all kinds of kinds! ?

Should I use 7.1 or 7.3 ft rod for hollow bodied frogs?
2" ain't enough to really make a difference.

Need Help Catching Bass
Need a few more details to help you out. Where do you normally fish? What type of fish? (LMB,SMB,etc...) Do you fish on the bank or boat? What type of lures are you casting? If you could go a bit more in depth, I'm sure you can get the answer your looking for!

20lb braid for topwater
I understand what your saying, I'm not saying mono wouldn't be better as a leader. I've just had experience with flouro and it's worked just fine for the application. I fish straight braid 99.5% of the time so don't have to worry much! What I don't understand is how people can fish such light line 10lbs and under, and not break off every other cast!!

Advice on flukes and on bullet weights.
Also try a loop knot, it will add a ton more action to it.

20lb braid for topwater
For a short leader it works just fine. (10"-16")The fact that it might sink a tiny bit is negated by the fact that it has enough memory to keep it from tangling the props on prop baits like devilhorses. Now throwing a whole spool may be different

Help with hook sets (heavy applications)
I like the "Hunter shryock" hookset. YouTube him if your unfamiliar!

Help with hook sets (heavy applications)
I know I might be minority, but swap to a Palomar knot and ditch the Snell. See if things change

20lb braid for topwater
I use 30lb power pro braid, on a 6/6 and fish topwater poppers and weightless flukes. Works just fine for me! If you fish prop baits tie a small flouro leader and you'll be good as gold

All low cost fish finders are not reliable.
Just stick your rod tip in the water and see how deep it goes. Any deeper than that I got a rock tied to a string. Sure is cheaper

Does anyone ever “double set” the hook
One hookset works for me. Just make it count

I'll definitely look into that thanks. You ever head down south and hit the St.Johns? I try to go a couple times a year. Nothing like some good Fla bass!

It takes all kinds of kinds...
The argument stating that not everyone has to agree with my opinion, also works in that not everyone has to agree with yours either sir. I feel like replicas have come a long way and can be made to look very realistic. But unethical, your right. There's nothing wrong with a man keeping a bass he caught. He had permission, so I think it's just selfishness on my part that I wanted to catch that bass again. Not my pond so not my call to make. Thanks for pointing that out. Thanks for your feedback though!

Altamaha is my go too for bass fishing. You ever start fishing it you won't fish anywhere else!
