  1. I love topwater bite, but when the short window is closed, here comes the plastics. X2 on this, soft plastics whether creature or classic ribbontail worm is hands down my top producing bait ever. Jig is slowly inching it's way closer, but bottom dragging baits is hands down, the go to
  2. I'll be praying for him
  3. Same type of thing happened to me, had permission to fish a pond that hadn't been fished in YEARS. Got there right at crack of day, mid- October, got the boat backed in, picked up a random rod with a squarebill tied on and slung a hail Mary straight out in the middle of the pond. Started a nice slow crank with a 2-3 reel pause and WHAM! Got slammed, fought her in the boat, 7lb LMB. Perfect way to start the day off Never have had that happen again. Right place, right time, right bass.
  4. I flip with a 7'3 heavy Duckett Ghost. Absolutely love it, and for the low price you don't hear too much about em
  5. I fish one, great rod. 75$ is steal compared to what I paid for mine
  6. I hate spring style jighead's, I like the other style keepers better. -my 2 cents
  7. Rig a creature bait t-rig, 4/0, punch skirt, with pegged round tungsten weight. Go through grass and round weight will keep from getting hung in the rocks
  8. 6lb test? You like living dangerously I see
  9. 95% of my fishing is flipping/pitching so baitcaster for me. Im trying to spend more time with a spinning reel though
  10. Maybe not so much as fear night fishing, but it is hard to do when you have a family and demanding job. I work swing shift so I'm able to night fish more, but usually alone since everyone I know isn't able to go
  11. Shift work... No fishing, just dreaming
  12. I'm with Tom, I rinse with freshwater and coat everything that can rust with wd-40. I use alot of my freshwater gear quite often saltwater fishing. Reds, trout's, snook. All great fishing
  13. Sweet video. Nice to see husband and wife team!
  14. I fish standing up and I like a shorter rod as I keep the tip down, mH 6'6 duckett micro magic pro for my froggy needs
  15. Our rivers have been in floodstage for awhile. So I've turned to saltywater inshore fishing. Rivers get back right might chase bass again...
  16. We happen to have red drum and speckled seatrout tournaments on the Ga Coast. Just saying...
  17. Lake only guys don't understand river systems. Hitting logs, roots, debris, sandbars and everything in between is common on a constantly changing river system. I've been running wide open hit a sandbar and spin the boat 180°. It's no different than anybody else not wanting to putt all the way back to the landing I don't see where Alton did anything wrong. Accidents happen
  18. Castnet for the stubborn ones
  19. Weightless fluke. Fished agonizingly slow.
  20. Don't over think it. Just throw what colors you have confidence in. I fish muddy stained water regularly, I've caught them on black/blue jigs, white buzzbaits, red craw cranks, black frogs and everything in between. Don't get hung up on color, just because a pro uses that color. His fellow colleagues might be fishing a black jelly worm and catching more!
  21. Eh there's alot more to saltwater fishing than your giving credit too. 1oz sinker and shrimp ain't the only way to fish @813basstard I'm assuming the 813 is your area code. I grew up around Tampa, Fla and if that's where you are you need to get on to some big snooks and gator trout you'll be hooked! Especially throwing topwater
  22. Nice Fla Bass
  23. Call the DNR and get him removed. Gators like that are a danger to everyone around. When they lose the fear of man, it's time they go.
