  1. I have a hard time hooking bass on top with a hollow body frog, yeah let's put it under water and see how it does.. I see the theory of it but there are better rigs than a c-rig, and better baits than dragging a hollow body frog. Like bluebasser86 said maybe a toad, but not a hollow body frog for sure. Just my thoughts
  2. Zoom super salty fluke, baby bass color and sprayed grass. I go through packs of these, $2.50 for a pack of 10 at my local Wally world. Absolute confidence bait I throw, and throw all the time, weightless on 3/0 ewg gammy
  3. I carry 2 main colors, watermelon red & June bug red. (My main producers) I have a couple other colors, merthiolate, red shad, elecric blue. If the water is clearish I'll start with watermelon, if it's muddy/stained I throw June bug. Before I change color I change presentation or bait(worm/craw/lizard). I really try to keep it simple and not overcomplicate it with more colors than a bag of melted Skittles. I know everyone is different but that's my approach @HeyCoach
  4. Never used one myself. Don't see what the big fuss is all about?
  5. *Black and Bleu Bison burgers, with Bleu cheese dressing mmmmmmm @Hook2JawThousand island is for pinky lifting Sissy's. Now about them fish tacos...
  6. I was kidding about the retention pond, If I can catch a bass in ditch water I'll do it. No shame in my game.
  7. I'd say there's alot of variables that come into effect; location, water clarity, species, etc... I fish alot of Rivers that are tannic and muddy so line visibility isn't my first concern. Strength is because snags are everywhere, so for me I fish straight braid 95% of the time and no less than 30lb test. That might be extreme for a small mouth northern guy, but for my area, it's normal. Ihave a few clear water ponds I fish and when I do I use a flouro leader tied with an fg knot, but I think ultimately it is a bass fisherman's personal preference as to what his opinions are on line choice/leaders. Great question though, I enjoy a good line visibility debate haha!
  8. @soflabasser I grew up fishing private phosphate pits in central Fla, I can attest to a 4-7lb average bass per outing. Really enjoyable fishing trips, but it will quickly spoil you. I know live in So Ga fishing River systems and a 1lb bass in now my average! Nice bass to the OP!
  9. Fish finder is hillbilly for sonar. My question was what brand and model sonar unit he was using. I couldn't think of the word so my redneck came out as fish finder
  10. Fun video, man they sure smoke em in the Everglades.
  11. What fish finder is that?
  12. There's all kinds of folks, some who actually fish, and some who fish retention ponds. It's annoying/aggravating when we encounter people who have a lofty veiw of themselves and their said skills. Just keep learning and fishing and let him enjoy his ditch water
  13. @Team9nine man I dig your style, did same thing today, my bait fit in my back pocket. But I seemed to kill a bag of zoom flukes.... (Edit: I totally commented on an old Post, my bad)
  14. Welcome to the double digit club!
  15. In South Ga I thought high 50's was getting ridiculously cold. Now I feel guilty
  16. ^^^^this^^^^ Springtime, yes, from the shore no problem. But any other time they are usually deep and suspended.
  17. Pretty sweet! That's definitely matching the hatch
  18. "Find the bait, Find the bass" approach is generally geared toward larger bodies of water which allow the bass to further spread out, it doesn't necessarily apply so much for a pond. Just stick with your basic fall approach, topwater at first and last light, crankbaits/jerk baits, and soft plastics
  19. Really good thread, my advice would be to echo all the ones who said zoom and strike king. Super effective, cheap, and reliable baits. Also, echo quality over quantity.
  20. Like to catch numbers off the bat, then slow down and pick apart bank/structure for the bigger bite. I like KVD's approach, power fish for a limit, then sloooow down
  21. Glad to be back, life got me busy and didn't have much time to get on. Nice to see you rippin lips on them Georgia bass! I like to give it a *jerk-jerk, pause(2-3secs) and let them slam it!
  22. Sounds like a pretty fun day. Square bill is a must, but as temps start dropping, love fishing a suspending rogue!
  23. In Central Fla now, Welcome from Plant City
  24. X2 on original packaging, don't put them in a plastic tray box, ruins box and soft plastics if not used frequently. But I would invest in soft plastics over hardbaits
