  1. No I don't strip line out by hand, I have my drag set loose enough when a bass takes the bait they can pull some line. Alot of times when I set the hook on spinning reel I'll hold the bail, set the hook, then fight fish, letting him pull drag and enjoy
  2. Similar to old timers tying a stringer of fish to back of the boat. Only downside is if fish's lip has just a clip on it, one good thrash and see ya fishy
  3. I set my drag "tight" by all standards, but with a big fish I'll click the bail and thumb out some line, then proceed to reel. That's on a baitcaster Spinning reel I like to hear that reel scream!
  4. Sometimes you got to cast into the wind. When you do keep your bait low as possible, sidearm works best.
  5. I'll raise to a 9sec Palomar Dang now I have to time myself just to see...
  6. We use popping corks in saltwater for trout and I use tiny popping corks for crappie but never done it for bass. Probably works, but I'm sure there's better options
  7. What type of reel and what type of line
  8. My favorite part!
  9. Yeah I was just cutting up, but I did like your story! I don't doubt it was a grown un though keep after it. Now that you know that fish is there your always gonna fish that pond for her
  10. The way that fight went, coulda been world record...
  11. Great story. Always say fish with braid fish with confidence!
  12. Same, I've went at least 4-5 times past month and pulled water. It happens.
  13. I use cheap flambeau trays. Walmart special, I replace em periodically throughout the year. $4 a piece
  14. Google images Palomar knot, basically one of the strongest and simplest knots out there!
  15. I got a few berkley lightning rods, caught a pile of fish on em!
  16. Why do you need to change your lures out so fast? Most can tie a Palomar knot in under 20secs.
  17. I'm in the black/blue camp. Mostly always use a black/blue craw type trailer. Some days claws get some JJ's chartreuse dip on em. That's about it
  18. If spraying for vegetation then it's just a herbicide, other than an oily feeling I wouldn't think it would cause any damage. But I would wash my hands and equipment when I got done fishing, an ounce of prevention goes a long way
  19. A good fishing partner goes a long way. I can get discouraged after a couple hours by myself, but when I have a partner we can fish for 8hrs during a tournament for 1 bite and laugh the whole time
  20. Again, mainly river fish but my average weight on a t-rig is 1/2ounce In current and around structure you gotta get that bait on bottom and in front a fish quick, plus you want just enough weight to keep the current from dragging your weight or you'll be tieing hooks all day. I also like the fact in a lake or a pond with a heavier weight I can drag bottom and mentally get a good perspective about how the bottom looks along with structure. Some people shy away from heavier weight but I prefer it. My heaviest bass came out if 8ft of water on a 1/2ounce pegged t-rig.
  21. When nothing is biting I'll change species I'm fishing for. I'll catch some bream and catfish somewhere lol. I usually carry a ultralight pole bass fishing so I can panfish if the bite is slow. If the sun's our most of the time you can catch a bream.
  22. I love a good jig bite, but in current around wooden structure jig don't stand a chance. When I fish lakes off the main river I'll pick up a jig, but pegged t-rig is go to
  23. To me there's something about dragging a good ole ribbontail uncle Charlie's or culprit that brings back memories. T-rig will always be a staple for this guy
