Ultrex Foot Pedal Tray Options?
Only thing I can suggest is if your boat doesn't already have a recessed trolling motor peddle tray try and get a really good look at what's under the deck before you cut a giant whole in it. Would be a really bad idea to just cut and pray there's nothing under there.

Keeping water out.
In storage with the cover on when raining? Maybe a photo with the cover on will help find a solution? I'm picturing a sagging rain filled cover that allows water to seep in at the seems causing the issue. Anyways a photo might allow one to offer a solution if so.

Fish Finder Recommendation For Minn Kota Universal Sonar 2
Nope....As long as your console mounted sonar meets your other needs. Some users like built in maps, navigation, etc.

New guy with question...
I've never used either of them so I can't really comment. It does look like some say there is a balance issue using the ci4 for whatever that's worth.

Edge rods by Gary Loomis - thoughts?
They do look like nice rods and I could probably live with the price....The waiting game kills it for me. Maybe once they get caught up they'll be more readily available.

Is it possible to repair an Abu Garcia rod tip that is fused onto the rod?
Isn't it bent? Optical illusion?

new rod
Stating if your looking for a casting or spinning rod would be my 1st suggestion. Waiting for a sale at BPS if it's your shopping place of choice would be my 2nd suggestion. They currently look to be in that between sales period. You'll get more bang for the buck with sale pricing.

Fedex broke my mojo!!!
BPS responded quickly to my email. They're waving return shipping and sending a replacement rod. Once I get it I just have to send the broken one back within 30 days or they'll charge me for the replacement. Works for me as I'd rather not go to BPS as the bait monkey always tags along. My Dobyns Fury I bought on ebay arrived with a damaged tube from USPS, but they at least delayed it and inspected it before delivering it.

Fedex broke my mojo!!!
I'm working on that. I'm seeing if they can just ship a replacement to my local BPS and then I'll go down and exchange it when it arrives. BPS will take care of it no doubt about that. I hate buying rods online as it's a gamble if they survive the shipping monkeys. I just wish I was home at the time they delivered it as I would have inspected it and refused delivery.

Those poor guys!
That's too funny! You'd think tourney fisherman would stop and smell the roses once in a while....translated it means shoot the chit with the locals from time to time. I'd think one could learn some valuable info on waters they've never fished as long as their polite and courteous to others.

Fedex broke my mojo!!!
Came home from work wanting to get my mojo on. I orded a St. Croix Mojo Glass from BPS the other day to mate up with my Revo MGX and was eagerly awaiting it's arrival. Sadly I was greeted by this....Tube broken on the tip end. Very cheaply taped by whomever broke it. It may have survived the journey with a better tape job?....Dang fedex!!! I removed the cap from the handle end of the tube and gently pulled out the rod. At first I thought it survived until I pointed the tip up, sadly it has a matching bend and is barely hanging on by a thread or two.

Getting a Bite
They say when in doubt set the hook as hooksets are free. You need to set the hook. Depending on what your using you'll have little to no chance of success otherwise. Smaller hooks might grab but you need penetration to keep the fish on. Watch the video and you'll see what goes on down there. Video quality is lacking but the info is worth the watch.

Getting a Bite
If you can see them they can see you most likely. I've caught all my larger bass by creeping up slowly in my kayak and making longer casts. Sometimes bass will follow a lure and suck it up and spit it back out. Did you try setting the hook when your feeling a bite? I mainly lipless crankbait fish and rely on them setting the hook as there's a lot of underwater cover in the areas I prefer to fish.

Those poor guys!
I call those guys the spot jockeys. They're entertaining to watch at times. I'm not really sure why they're under the impression that if you don't catch a fish within a couple of casts that there aren't any fish there. I've encountered them while fishing in my kayak, but there under full speed trolling power at times. I try to keep at casting distance from my target to not spook the fish but then one of those guys will blast right thru under trolling power dropping jigs and worms and not catching crap. On more than one occasion I've thrown my lipless crankbait behind them and caught a 4-5lb bass. It's a double reward catching the bass while seeing the expression on their faces, and hearing their vocal displeasure.

Looking for a crankbait setup, need help
Good luck on your quest for the perfect rod for you. I've been debating back and forth for weeks looking for a new casting rod to pair up with my Revo MGX. I wound up going with the St. Croix Mojo Glass 6' 10" Medium/Moderate from BPS. I went with the shorter rod as I kayak fish and I prefer the slightly shorter handle. I like to take advantage of their stretch your payment options and it was the last day. Seemed like a good option too me as I really love throwing those lipless crankbaits around. Those dang dinks sometimes pull the hook on my current rod that is Medium/Fast.

Baitcasters; Right vs Left handed retrieve...
Good question for a large tackle distributor I'd think. Without having the data I'd lean towards not as popular so they stock less. It could also be the other way around and they're more popular. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I cast with the right and reel with the right on both baitcaster and spinning as it's the way it feels more natural too me. The switching of the rod from my right to left hand happens just after the lure hits the water. I've always done it this way and don't see any reason to change it.

Baitcasting rod for plastics
Maybe use a shoe analogy on her? Explain to her that there are different rods for different situations, kinda of like there are different shoes for different outfits and situations. If she doesn't get it ask her if she would wear high heels to go jogging or if she'd wear tennis shoes with a nice dress. Not saying you should go out and blow $400 on a rod, but she'll probably at least understand why you actually need another rod or two or three.

Couple options - broke my rod
Yep. Same series, same fee involved. You can even upgrade the series and pay the msrp difference.

High Sticking?
I use 30lb braid and throw lipless most of time. There's so much recently flooded cover I don't even set the hook in a lot of the areas when I feel a thump in fear of another snag. Most of the time it'll shake out on the way over or easily pull out once there. Never lost a bigger bass this way, but the smaller fiesty ones sometimes do get away.
-
High Sticking?
You have to be careful with the snags. If you can't just shake it out you only have two choices in the end. Go and retrieve it or grab the line and pull it out or snap the line. I kayak fish so it's more or less go and retrieve it if I can't shake it out. I don't get the leverage a person would have on a bass boat or fishing from shore. I've caught a couple of bass on the shake it out method. I guess the shaking fooled them and they thought a bird landed on the branch and dropped it's lunch. Nice rush when you go from snag to fish in a matter of a couple of seconds.
